"In response to a particularly negative review, I feel compelled to share my perspective. I was genuinely upset to read that the police were involved. My family has owned a camp in Pittsburg for 40 years, and my husband and I have enjoyed breakfast and lunch while passing through Whitefield many times—more than fifty, in fact! The harsh review I just encountered seems to come from individuals with ill intentions. I can confidently say that my family has never had a negative experience there. Never. While the service can be a bit slow, it’s always friendly, and the food has consistently been excellent. I find that the northern vibe encourages a more relaxed pace. Isn’t that why you’re here? Just take a deep breath, order a hot chocolate or coffee, and take a moment to unwind and chat. If you approach others with politeness and a smile, you might find that the world responds in kind!"

Some waitstaff (not all) can be very rude and abrupt! Food is really good but waitstaff needs an overhaul with some.

Food was great! Waitress was very abrupt. Didn't bring all ordered. No early bird discount. First time we had received this kind of service

Every time we visited Grandma's, it was a wonderful experience. We had been going there for years, and we've always loved it. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to go for a couple of years because of our son’s dementia, and we really miss that place in our lives. We love you all!

SALE SERVICE EVER! If I could give this place ZERO Star Review, I'd be total. It started with our waitress who “forget” us some of the foods we ordered and absolutely neglected our table without water or coffee refills and super slow service. But that’s nothing compared to the OWNER of the restaurant that came to me saying that SHE “T ON A TIMER” now and the “I HAVE TO LEAVE” apparently because my friend forgets his mask on the way from our table to the bathroom! Absolutely the WORST customer service I have ever experienced! If I could give this place a ZERO star rating, I absolutely would. It all started with our waitress who “forgot” to bring some of the food we ordered and completely neglected our table—no water or coffee refills, and the service was incredibly slow. However, this was minor compared to the OWNER of the restaurant, who approached me and said that she had “put me on a timer” and that I “had to leave” simply because my boyfriend forgot to put on his mask while walking from our table to the bathroom!

in response to a very bad review I just read where the police were called into me, I must say I was totally upset! My parents have a camp in Pittsburg for 40 years and my husband I had breakfast lunch as we went through Whitefield 50 times or more! The evil review I've just read had to have been from bad people to start. I can say no one in my family ever had a bad experience. Never. Service is never particularly fast, but perfectly pleasant and the food was always great. The north is a bit back in nature, I find. You're here to relax, aren't you? Take a chill pill, order a hot chocolate or coffee, relax chat. Be polite, smile, be pleasant. Maybe the whole world will treat you better!

I was truly shocked to read a harsh review that even involved the police. My parents have owned a camp in Pittsburg for 40 years, and my husband and I have enjoyed breakfasts and lunches in Whitefield over 50 times! The negative review must have come from unpleasant people to begin with. I can confidently say that no one in my family has ever had a bad experience at this restaurant—never. The service may not be the fastest, but it’s always friendly, and the food has consistently been excellent. The North Country has a relaxed vibe, and I believe it’s a place meant for unwinding. So take a moment to relax, order a hot chocolate or coffee, and enjoy some conversation. A little politeness and a... View menu

In response to a very negative review I just encountered, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. My family has been enjoying our camp in Pittsburg for 40 years, and my husband and I have had breakfast and lunch in Whitefield more times than I can count—at least 50 times! The harsh review I read seemed to come from individuals with bad intentions. I can confidently say that no one in my family has ever had a negative experience here. Not once. While service may not be the fastest, it is always friendly, and the food has consistently been excellent. I find that the north has a more laid-back atmosphere, which is part of the charm. After all, you’re here to relax, right? So take it easy, order...

"This review is a contradiction to itself... The service was great and incredibly slow. Some of the food was excellent and some just barely mediocre. We had a reservation at 5:45 they told us they couldn 't seat us at 5:15 or 5:30 even though more than 1/2 of the dining room was empty when we got there. Sure sign that they are short on staff but it must be in the kitchen because there were definitely enough waitstaff around. And although there were waitstaff around we barely saw our very friendly waitress. The owner was around and was very nice and accommodating with the kids and offered to make anything they wanted. I had the prime rib which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and tender but it had no flavor at all. The sweet carrots were the star of the plate. My husband had the rib eye and said it was just OK but again no flavor. My daughter had the bacon burger but it was a hockey puck and all she ate was the mashed potato side. My son had grilled chicken and their famous fries (as the owner said) the fries were the pre battered kind and nothing fancy and the chicken was just that a slab of grilled chicken breast. The fried green beans were good and the pretzels were perfect although the cheese sauce with them had no flavor. We took desserts to go and I am not sure why they called it bread pudding but it was just a hunk of hard bread. We like to support local but not sure we will make an effort to come back here."

"I recently stayed for a week at the Mountain View Grand Resort in New Hampshire, and it was an unforgettable experience.Pros:The views from both our room and the property in general were truly unmatched. Being nestled in the heart of the mountains provided a breathtaking backdrop throughout our stay. The llama experience was an absolute must-do; walking alongside these gentle creatures and enjoying breakfast afterward was a unique adventure. Axe throwing and visiting the farm with a variety of animals were also standout activities that added to the charm of the resort. The property itself was impeccably clean and accentuated its natural beauty. The Wine Cellar Restaurant was truly beautiful and a wonderful experience. We tried the bar, and the second restaurant, as well as room service and all was stellar!Cons:While the overall experience was nice there were a few areas that left something to be desired. The front desk service, in particular, was lacking. It felt as though we had to initiate every request, which, considering the substantial cost of our stay (few thousand) was somewhat disappointing. The rest of the staff (housekeeping, activities coordinator, bar and restaurant, and the porch employees were amazing, no complaints there) but the front desk staff truly need some hospitality training. When checking in they didn't offer a map of the premises (and it's a huge property) or schedule of the activities- I had to prompt them to give it to us and I had to ask for every add-on activity (times, price) because I researched them online, not because they offered. Had I not seen the llama experience or axe throwing we wouldn't have done it because we wouldn't have known. And truly all they had to do was provide us a paper they print with the daily activities (which they did once I asked). We were also not told about the spa or all its services (which we would've done) until the last day when it was too late. Additionally, the limited scheduling of certain activities was a bit restrictive. Axe throwing being available only once a day at 10 am and s'mores offered only three times a week, rather than nightly, made it challenging to fully enjoy these amenities. In conclusion, the Mountain View Grand Resort offers a stunning setting and spacious rooms with incredible views. However, there is room for improvement when it comes to the level of service and the availability of some activities. Despite these minor drawbacks, our overall experience was memorable, but unless they change their staff training we'd consider spending those 3 thousand dollars at the Mount Washington Resort down the road. The Mountain View Resort is a historic and beautiful property and their front desk staff should treat it as such and make guests feel valued and welcome, as well as enticed to take advantage of every amenity it has to offer."
