This is one of my favorite Caribbean restaurants in Phoenix! The food is amazing and the service is top-notch. They also feature a live band and an open mic night every Thursday. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the vibe is energetic. Food rating: 5/5.

I was absolutely blown away by my meal here. The oxtail was incredibly delicious. I ordered the large curry chicken, fried plantains, mac and cheese, and a spinach patty. I still find it hard to express just how tasty everything was and how happy this meal made me. The cooks were also very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place—no question about it!

The oxtail itself was expertly prepared—juicy and bursting with flavor in every mouthful. The rice and peas are reminiscent of what you’d get from your mom if she hails from a tropical island where this dish is a staple, yet each variation has its own distinct, delightful twist. I'm relieved that the place I heard about in Avondale doesn't exist and that the nearest option has a five-star rating. Island Sensation Cuisine is a bit pricey, but they do caution you at the counter that it's not fast food. In Arizona terms, this means to relax for about 15 minutes, but trust me, it will be worth the wait. My oxtail dinner experience (which I ordered to-go this time) was exceptional. We decided to start with beef patties as an appetizer while we waited for our entrees. The pastry of the patties was perfectly flaky, filled with a flavorful beef mixture that had just the right amount of spice. They were a delightful prelude to the oxtail curry goat we had ordered.
