"I used to drive a truck, so my review comes from my experience as a professional driver. Truck stops are a necessary evil in the trucking world. Federal regulations force drivers off the road after a maximum of 14 hours. When that threshold hits, you MUST get off the road, and it doesn't matter where you are. That's why you see trucks parking on exit and entry ramps by the interstate. I was driving across New Mexico and I had made plans to stop at the brand name truck stop that was further up the road. But I decided to give Lisa's a try, because the no name brand truck stops, the ones independently owned and operated, are often a delight. Well, that's what I found at Lisa's. There was plenty of room in their unpaved lot. The place was well lit, and they had all the usual amenities; showers, toilets, laundry, supply store, and a restaurant. For dinner, I ordered the huevos rancheros smothered in green chili. It was possibly the best plate of food I had ever eaten. I see a lot of complaints about the lack of service in these reviews, honestly I was never very picky and I can't even remember if there were any issues. So I doubt there were, or I would probably have remembered something. My one regret coming off the road as a professional driver is that I rarely get to visit places like this any more. I have told my wife many times that I wish I could take her on a trip to New Mexico with the specific intent of introducing her to Lisa's Truck Stop. While I was a driver, I often tried to schedule my loads so that I was in the vicinity of Lisa's when it was time to take my Federal break. It didn't happen too often, but when it did, I counted myself lucky to be able to stop there again."
