My favorite breakfast in the middle of nowhere in the mountains is hands down the Log Cabin Cafe in Silvergate Montana. Super friendly an helpful staff, home cooked quality, Lori the owner is superb. No matter what you order, ADD A SLICE IF PUMPKINBREAD!!!! It?s heaven Plan your trip around breakfast here!

We enjoyed a fantastic meal with fresh trout that was simply delicious! This restaurant is a must-visit before heading to the northeast entrance of Yellowstone. Although the entrance is currently closed, the journey to Silver Gate is definitely worthwhile. The restaurant offers a charming and authentic ambiance.

The nice lady who brought us our drinks was outstanding. She left and the service went with her. The man who took our order forgot us. Over an hour to get food. Finally comes and its wrong. Go to pay and he didn't want to give me any change. Food was good but not worth 15 bucks for a hot ham and cheese with a fancy name. View menu

I get it everybody is under staff. It was really busy. There might have been some communication barriers. I don't know, seemed like they quite didn't understand what we were saying. They didn't get back to us to us as far as refilling our coffee or askingabout if we wanted a dessert. There is no other place in town to eat. So we chose here. I would keep on driving if you can

My absolute favorite breakfast spot, tucked away in the mountains, is the Log Cabin Cafe in Silvergate, Montana. I understand that every restaurant is facing staffing challenges these days, and it was quite busy during my visit. However, it seemed like there were some communication issues, as it felt like the staff didn’t fully grasp what we were saying. They didn’t check back with us for coffee refills or to see if we wanted dessert. Since there aren't many dining options in town, we decided to eat here. Bizarre place. Walked into the restaurant where maybe four tables were full. Was sat promptly and given a menu. A nice young gentleman served me coffee. And, that was it. Several other tables came in and had their orders taken and food served whileI was there. The person taking orders, who I guess is the owner, walked by me a dozen times and ignored me. A few other guestscommented to me about it. Nothing could get her attention. I enjoyed the rather good coffee for 45 minutes, left five dollarson the table and left. Really wanted to try the trout.

There are only 2 servers so give them a break, they are doing their best. And for God's sake, leave a decent tip! If you order scrambled eggs don't expect big fluffy eggs. These are country scrambled, so partially fried then chopped and scrambled. This place is very rustic, it's a cabin that is over 100 years old. So no indoor bathroom, it's outside around the corner. This is Yellowstone, act like a Montanan and toughen up! At least it has a roof! Anyway, this place is famous for pan fried trout for breakfast, pumpkin bread that is to die for, and stout coffee.

Strange experience. I walked into Log Cabin Cafe B B and noticed only a few tables were occupied. I was seated quickly and given a menu. A pleasant young man served me coffee, but that was the extent of my service. As I sat there, several other customers arrived, placed their orders, and received their food. The person taking orders, whom I assume is the owner, passed by me numerous times without acknowledging my presence. Other guests even mentioned it to me. Despite my efforts, I couldn't get her attention. I enjoyed the decent coffee for about 45 minutes, left a five-dollar tip on the table, and ultimately left without trying the trout, which I had really wanted to taste. View menu
