"I was quite disappointed with our breakfast yesterday morning at the Minute Cafe in Bandon. Although it was busy, being a Wednesday, we had to wait 45 minutes for our meal. The grill was obviously too hot, resulting in the egg being fried to a strict white, while the yolk turned out fine. The sausage was only browned on one side, as it hadn’t been turned, and my husband’s potatoes were burnt black on one side, making them inedible. We immediately informed the waitress about the issues, but she never brought us new potatoes or adjusted our bill, which left us dissatisfied. When we spoke to the manager, she refused to come and talk to us directly and instead instructed the cashier regarding our concerns."

"The food is not very good. Crab cakes were mostly pasty bread that tasted like Worcestershire sauce and not crab, topped with some bizarre brown relish made of mustard and shallots. Asparagus hadn 't been properly trimmed the woody, inedible ends were left on. French onion soup was awful pale and watery with zero caramelized onion flavor. The bowl was literally filled with bread and piles of chewy, bland cheese. My halibut cheeks were cooked OK but had little seasoning or flavor. "they have fish n chips and chowder, both salmon and chowder. they also have other seafood dinge to eat before place like garnel, mush, they get the point. I like that they have several options for fish N chips. I've decided to go with a cable junk. it was a little on the expensive side, but the portion is generous. she does not sneak on fishing like some other places do so that the price actually worth it. there is not much space to sit inside, a little outside. but not the best if weather is bad unless they like an adventurous. it was nice when I visited someone. eating is excellent. I had better pommes, but overall very good. I would definitely go back."

After placing your order at the counter, you can choose your own seat, and the staff will track you down to deliver your meal. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous, helping to explain why the place is always buzzing with customers. You might be wondering about the 'bait' in the name—given its proximity to the water, it's common for patrons to stop in for bait and fishing supplies before heading out to fish themselves. It all just fits perfectly. Parking is free, although you’ll need to exercise some patience in finding a spot, as the lot serves multiple businesses in the area.
