"I placed a takeout order for fried chicken, fries, and okra, and was informed it would be ready in 10 minutes. I left for the restaurant as soon as I hung up the phone. I arrived within six minutes, paid for my meal, and began waiting. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was told that there was a “hold on the chicken.” As I waited, I noticed the staff bringing out plates of chicken to other customers and thought my order would be ready soon. However, after another 10 minutes, when I inquired again, I was informed once more that there was a hold on the chicken. In total, I waited 30 minutes for my takeout order, only to receive a lackluster “sorry about that” from the employee at the to-go window. The manager or owner seemed indifferent to my long wait, as she continued to assist other customers while I remained at the window. When I asked why my order was taking so long, the employee explained that they prioritize the food for dine-in customers first. At this point, I should have simply asked for my money back. I won’t be returning again."

The food here may not be extraordinary, but it's the ideal small-town restaurant in lower Alabama. When we arrived, our table was the only one not called by name, yet that didn’t hinder us from enjoying fantastic service. The burgers were delicious, and my wife really liked her salad.

The food is fantastic, especially the fried chicken and macaroni and cheese, and the service is outstanding, all at prices that seem unbelievable. By 2 PM, they had run out of most of the entrees. The waitress was very pleasant, but the food was not properly plated—missing the pimento cheese from the pimento cheese BLT and the chicken from the salad. My husband and daughter ordered the chicken and dumplings, and they said it was awful. They also tried the onion rings, but there were only five in the order. One plate of onion rings was cooked perfectly—crispy and not overly floured. However, the second order had way too much flour, which made them mushy. I was really hoping for a shrimp po' boy, but I was surprised to find that there was no seafood on the menu. What kind of restaurant so close to the coast doesn't serve seafood?

While there aren't many dining options in Bay Minette, Pearl and Addie's has something for everyone. Their menu includes burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads, meats, and veggies. My coworkers ordered burgers and wings with fries, and I wish I had taken pictures! The fries resembled beer-battered fries, while their burgers looked fresh and juicy. On my first visit, I had a turkey wrap, and on my most recent visit, I tried the buffalo chicken sandwich. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken; it's hand-breaded and wonderfully crispy.
