"We stumbled upon The Fat Lady Cafe as we passed by The Local Table and Tap, which we have visited before and enjoyed. However, we decided to give The Fat Lady Cafe a try since we parked nearby, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice for our family! The restaurant had just reopened the day before our visit (5/27/2021). Our server, Junior, was friendly, generous, and knowledgeable, providing excellent service. Our kids, who usually don't order from the kids menu, were delighted with their grilled cheese sandwich and chicken nuggets meals, which came with fries, a drink (milk, chocolate milk, or juice), and a freshly baked brownie. I ordered the gazpacho, but my 7-year-old daughter loved it so much that she claimed 50% ownership of it. It was absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed my pastrami on rye with mustard, while my husband devoured his cheddar burger and fries. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Judy, who shared with us that she had hired a new chef and bakes fresh desserts daily. Our kids had their brownies, and my husband enjoyed the banana chocolate cake, which Judy makes every day for her grandchildren. The dinner options looked enticing as well. The lake side seating, impeccable service, and scrumptious food made with love made our visit to The Fat Lady Cafe a memorable experience. We all agreed that we love this place and can't wait to return throughout the summer. It was a unanimous hit for our family."

"We were here on a Wednesday night, and it was very busy. We sat on the patio and the view was wonderful for a summer evening. The food was as expected but nothing outstanding... I do have to say the kids meals were very generous, especially for the price. I gave this experience 3 stars because we waited over an hour for our food with 4 kids. When they did bring it out, all 3 adult entrees were delivered first and then we had to wait at least another 5 minutes for the kids food to come out. By that point we just wanted to hurry and get out. We ended up taking most of the food out in boxes. Our waitress was very nice, but no one came over to apologize for the lengthy wait.The long wait ruined it for us, and we have no desire to return."

"My burger was excellent, a five star meal; It was the best I've had in a long while, perfectly cooked, crispy and charred on the outside and juicy on the inside. The spicy pickles here are an interesting touch, the lettuce was crisp and fresh, the tomato perfect. The fries were also absolutely delicious, cut much thinner than I've seen elsewhere. My date's meal was a little less exhilarating; Arugula and roasted mushrooms on grilled cheese sounded good in principle but tasted bitter in practice. The view from the outdoor deck was beautiful. My reason for docking the star however, comes not from the food or view, but from other sources. For example, the palm-sized ball of human hair and dust that blew back and forth between the door and my table for the duration of my meal, chased by concerningly abundant flies which flew in our faces and landed on our food; The speakers played a maddening, endless string of soulless modern reggae songs that sounded like the same single tune stuck on repeat; and the waitress, while efficient and kind to us, seemed to be the only person waiting on every single customer in the place by herself. I watched in dismay as she carried a customer a shot of liquor to a customer between her fingers instead of on a tray (an especially bad idea during COVID-19), an unnoticed stream of spilled drink pouring from the overfilled glass and onto the floor; shortly after, I was further distressed to see her pick up and throw crumbs from one of the tables into the lake, which simply isn't an acceptable food waste receptacle and might explain the flies. If it wasn't for the truly impressive burger these factors would have brought it down to 3.5 or 3 stars."

"I called to order a large pizza and they said they don?t make them. Strange being as it?s a Italian restaurant but anyway. The guy told me they have medium size so I decided to go with it. When I picked it up, it was about the size of a personal pizza. Very small. I ordered as soon as they opened so I know they were not busy yet and somehow my pizza still managed to stay in the oven to long and got burnt. Burnt crust ruins the entire pizza. We ended yo throwing it outsince it wasn?t even edible. I gave a generous 3 stars because I?m hopeful it was only the pizza they can?t cook right."
