"I stay here about 3-5 nights a year since 2017.The rooms are always nice and clean.This time I had a rather annoying experience. I paid extra 25) for a late checkout at 1pm.I wanted to catch some sleep after a Night Shift and before going to the airport to fly back home. When I came back to the hotel I asked for confirmation of my late checkout just to be sure that they remembered to put that in since I paid for it and don’t want to be interrupted.At 11:25am, a loud boom ripped me out of my sleep. It was a maintenance guy trying to open my door but got caught by the swing lock. He said he wasn’t informed.When I checked out I told the staff that that was exactly the reason why I reminded them of my late checkout that I paid for. They smiled and said “we apologize for that.”I would have liked a refund of the $25 since the whole situation defeated the purpose.Oh well, i will still continue to come here and it’s worth the 4 stars. I’ll just bring a big glittery sticky note next time and stick it to the outside of my door so that it gets communicated to everyone that the guest in this room paid for a late checkout.The restaurant is fantastic."

we had a nice stay in smithfield. we were in smithfield for two days golf and spent the night in smithfield station. beautiful accommodation and excellent dining and cocktails in restaurant. john the bartender was friendly, engaged and made great drinks. hotel staff was very welcoming.

We made a reservation for Thanksgiving at 5, but we were seated at 4:30. The broiled seafood meals were fantastic. The Thanksgiving meal itself was a bit disappointing with its cold-cut-like turkey breast, but it was saved by a generous serving of delicious, uniquely salty Smithfield ham.

We were disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. The food was served cold and was just average. To add to that, our salad had three lettuce cores in it. Yes, three! Even our replacement salad still had one in it. The manager refused to address our concerns and did not come to our table. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Booked an overnight stay at the cottage next to the swimming pool. Very clean with a large bathroom. Kitchenette had just about everything we needed. There's a nice walking trail across the street. In the morning, I thanked the staff for a hot continental breakfast...scrambled eggs and waffles were delicious! The only concern I had was the traffic noise from the bridge next to the room. I forgot my sound machine. Be careful parking in the small, gravel lot by the restaurant. Very difficult to turn around. We got trapped in by a large truck. Watch out crossing the busy road if you're parked across the street. Will return.

this was an excellent visit and my first time at the smithfield railway station. my bestie took me to birthday and I wasn't disappointed. from going through the front door and the family photo to the beautiful flowers and cozy feeling in the foyer. we sat outside and had a front seat in the marina and the solarium. our server, kayla, was very friendly and eating (I had laughs and garnels) was delicious. bonus there was a fireworks display and we could go down and get off the station and catch the show. such a great community and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants an unforgettable meal to be a special occasion.
