"My husband and I had a delicious birthday celebration meal at Stationaery. The bread and butter were exceptional (sourdough bread with exquisite chew, warmed out of the oven). I had the most delicious Sauvignon Blanc which we found out is produced by the owner's father, locally. So good we purchased a bottle to take home. My husband enjoyed the beef tenderloin and I had the halibut (cooked to perfection-seared on the outside and tender inside). We also ordered sides of pureed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The potatoes were heaven. Brussel sprouts were a bit saturated with a Korean glaze and too sweet (but this may just be a personal preference-they were tasty). At the price point, I believe starch should be included in the main course. The service was very good and friendly. They did not rush us in our meal which I appreciated. At the end of the meal, they offered complimentary prosecco for my birthday-that was much appreciated and a lovely gesture. We will be back for sure! One of the best dinners we have had in Carmel."

My husband and I shared the avocado toast and chilaquiles. Both were outstanding. We will definitely return

Fresh delicious and healthful food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The outdoor seating area was comfortable and felt fairly private for dinner. View menu

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! It was the perfect place for us to celebrate a birthday, enjoy dinner with friends, and share a baby announcement, all while indulging in delicious food. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was exceptional. The location is ideal, especially during these unpredictable times. We can't wait to return!

Now, let's talk about prices. I firmly believe that good food should be accessible, and charging extra for great flavors seems unreasonable. For instance, a glass of almond milk costs around $7, and the burger jumps to $35 when you add an extra patty, fried egg, and speck. I understand that Carmel has a high cost of living and wages, but still—$35 for a burger? It's delicious, but it shouldn't be treated as just any ordinary restaurant. While the atmosphere is casual, be prepared to pay a premium for fine dining. View menu

It was our second time at this restaurant. For some reason, this place allows reservations at 1:30 and later. By that time you won’t be able to order anything tasty, because all these items are sold out. You only can get something that is left on the kitchen, that no one ordered earlier that day. The host is doing the terrible job of managing tables availability. Some tables can stay empty for a while, even after the grace period past, just to allow people who know the owner to sit down. Around two pm the host and other personnel are rushing everyone to finish their food because they are closing out. How people can get the normal service if they reserved a table at 1:30? Please, do not allow...

Karamell can be a bit laid-back and tends to attract an older crowd both in terms of clientele and menu preferences. We were thrilled to stumble upon this gem for dinner in Carmel after coming from San Francisco. The staff was young, energetic, friendly, and knowledgeable, providing perfectly attentive service while engaging in pleasant conversation. The food was amazing and truly memorable. We visit Carmel frequently, and I can confidently say that Karamell offers the most innovative and unique menu we've encountered. The dishes are fresh and bursting with lively aromas. You won’t find a menu like this anywhere else in the city. I highly recommend making a reservation! We had hoped to try t...

"The food was good. However, the service was awful. While we were the only 2 POCs in the dining room, we were treated very differently from the other diners. While we sat down at the same time as another couple and ordered first, the other couple received their water, glass of wine, soup and appetizer and ate most of it before we even received our sparkling water and Diet Coke. The assorted cheese platter we ordered looked like it had sat around for a few days before being served to us. The mushroom soup was good. The King Salmon and the sand dab fish entree were both very tasty. All the while we were there, the waiter was engaging in small talk and checking on the other tables. We received none of this. No drink refills, nothing. I asked to substitute the seasonal vegetables on my sand dab entree for Swiss chard. The waiter said of course. But about 20 minutes after we finished eating our appetizers, we were told that they were out of Swiss chard but we could get spinach instead. We declined and took the seasonal vegetables. We waited another 20 minutes (40 minutes total) after we had already finished our cheese plate and soup for the entrees to arrive. The couple we mentioned earlier was long gone. The dining room had two other tables eating. It was not crowded. Just all around lousy service. They also added a $5 credit card convenience fee and calculated the tip with this fee included (I did not realize until after). Total for 1 cup of soup, assorted cheese plate, 2 entrees, 1 Diet Coke and a bottle of Pellegrino with tip included was $158. I don’t mind paying high prices if the service is worth it but clearly it was not. Do better."
