"We were staying at a hotel just down the road so we thought we'd give Sportsman's Hall a try for breakfast. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived. It took a minute to be acknowledged by a staff member, once we were, we were told we could sit anywhere we wanted. A woman, who was not our server, brought us waters and coffee right away. She was friendly and attentive...but that's where the good service ended. Our server, probably aware we are not locals, ignored us once our food was brought to the table...which took an extremely long time considering how empty the restaurant was. I gave 4 stars because the food was excellent. It was fresh, served hot and my biscuits and gravy was the perfect comfort food!"

"First time and I ordered to-go. The fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was very bland. The dish compromised mostly of cheese that made it impossible to chew as it cooled down. The sauce was on the light side and like I mentioned very bland. The baked spaghetti was okay. Nothing very special about it. It wasn't overpowered with cheese so I thought that was nice. The spaghetti and meatball was okay as well. Nothing very fancy. The meatballs seemed factory manufactured versus handmade in-store. The pesto, sundried tomato,and garlic pizza was blah.The sundried tomato were chewy and they were whole. The pasta orders came with tasty garlic bread though, they arrived to our table crispy and crunchy in the right places. I would have liked their boneless chicken wings if they were crispy and crunchy. They did not come with ranch sadly. Night shift on a Monday night."

"Since I live here in Pollock Pines, the food places are very limited. We have a very small town full of great people but at this particular Subway there is a young lady that’s so rude. I went it one time to ask to buy a salad and asked her if I could buy just a plain 6 inch roll to go with it. She tells me that if I want the roll with no toppings (basically if I don’t want it as a sandwich) she would charge me $8 for it. WHAT? So I’m like: “are you seriously?” And she gives me a mean look, says yes and I bought nothing from them and I will NEVER go there again and I highly recommend that nobody else goes there either. Take a minute or two and go across the street to Safeway and order their deli sandwich or a nice salad from them. They also have fresh baked rolls. No matter how good the food is at a restaurant, rude service will keep me from going back. BTW the gal at Subway had blond hair, just so everyone know s who she."

"It used to be great, but it has changed hands. Every time I come here there is a new person behind the grill, none of which seems to know how to cook a burger. My last two were raw. Don't think I will be back. Not only can they not cook a burger, I stopped in today to buy a pack of smokes only to see the rack was empty. They told me they haven't had them in over four months. At that point I looked around and noticed they had nothing close to comparable of what used to be available. This used to be a great store, bar, grill for folks staying at the lake, but I have no idea what the new owners are thinking, but clearly it is not about their customers. Save yourself some time and go into town to the Safeway to get what you need."

"All the time I’ve eaten here it has been great the young man has always been very kind and willing to work with my food allergies. However I just called for take out and I have no clue who the lady on the phone was but she must have been having a bad day bc she was very rude. Not willing to add Customizations To accommodate allergies and when we finally got to a point where I was happy with my order (I ended up only ordering for my grandmother and getting nothing for myself) I asked for the total and she flat out said no. Once again I’ve never had a problem in the past service has been great, such a shame that put a sour taste in my mouth. Didn’t think it was going to go down hill with the new ownership (not saying it completely is) but this is very upsetting as a local that is frequent. Hope no other locals get this service because it’s not a bad restaurant just one person providing ride service."
