"If you want sublime traditional quality sushi, this restaurant is for you! Let me tell you a little bit about this lovely hole in the wall. Not only is the staff so friendly and understanding, the head sushi chef, who has had experience for many decades, is a true master at work. He hand picks A+ sushi quality fish from the fish market everyday: fish mostly from Japan, but also from other parts of the world such as Alaska and New Zealand. PLEASE NOTE This is not the place to order a spicy tuna hand roll, California roll, or any non traditional sushi items. Sushi Sushi offers many extraordinary specials. May I say, I would highly recommend an omakase to the average human being. For those curious, omakase is where the sushi chef hand selects prime A+ sushi without you knowing what you are going to get. The sushi chef will take care all of your allergies and preferences and make sure you are served with excellent care and given what you expect. Truthfully, I expected way less than what I received! The quality was stupendous, and I so enjoyed the sushi chef telling me where the fish I was eating came from. For example, I had many different pieces of Tunas and Salmons, all from different parts of the world! I left believing and knowing that my experience at Sushi Sushi was the best sushi I've ever devoured in my lifetime! Now more than ever, PLEASE support small mom and pop businesses like Suhsi Sushi during these difficult times!"

First time back to Sushi Sushi since we lived in LA 20 years ago and this place did not disappoint. A bit pricey but it was worth it!

I frequently meet friends at this lovely restaurant! It's my favorite spot for a quick meal. I visit here regularly. The food is excellent, the staff is professional, and the prices are fair. I enjoy gathering here for a nice dinner.

The sushi here is exceptional! I highly recommend this authentic Japanese restaurant. I recently tried the chirashi bowl, tuna hand roll, and sushi uni, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. The service was outstanding too!

Still the absolute best purist sushi experience in LA. Omakase is the way to go but only for the open minded. Super traditional Japanese edo mae style sushi heaven in a quite romantic shop. Sit at the bar with Shige san shee gay san for a special experience. View menu

Yesterday marked our first visit to this wonderful restaurant, but it certainly won’t be our last. We had a delightful experience thanks to the attentive service, exceptional dishes, and fine drinks—all at reasonable prices. We will definitely be returning soon.

I recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant is quite small. If you can’t get a table, they also offer contactless pickup and delivery. Keep in mind that this is a traditional, old-school Japanese sushi restaurant, where sushi is taken very seriously. The service here is warm and friendly, and the place truly reminds me of the humble, tiny sushi joints in Japan. The chef showcased the freshest catch of the day, and I highly suggest enjoying each dish as it is presented to you—it's a way of honoring the chef's work. Let’s support small mom-and-pop restaurants!

Anyway, Sushi Sushi has definitely impressed me enough that I plan to return for the omakase. I really appreciate the generous cuts of fish they serve, with just the right amount of rice. Here’s what I ordered: - Kanpachi, or young yellowtail, which was delicious and on par with other great sushi places. - Mirugai, or giant clam, which was firm and chewy yet delicate and flavorful. - Sanma, or Japanese pike mackerel, was so good that I ended up ordering a second piece. - Aji, or Spanish mackerel, which I found to be good, though not as impressive as the other offerings. The couple next to me ordered the omakase, and it looked incredible! By the way, there’s metered street parking availa... View menu

One of the things I really missed during the pandemic was really really GOOD sushi omakase while sitting at a traditional tiny sushi joint. This is one of three I really wanted to try since before the shutdown. It came highly recommended by my Japanese foodie friends. Glad I was in the area and their only outdoor table was available for dinner time. Oishii desu ka!! Fresh delicious.Oh they house-made their sushi shoyu!! Reservation is recommended as they are really tiny. Otherwise, you can order for contactless pick up or delivery. Note: This is an traditional, old school, Japanese sushi joint. In Japan culture, Sushi is serious. Service was warm kind. This place reminds me the unassuming, t...

Now, let's talk about the sushi. We sampled several different types of nigiri (I’ll share photos, although I can’t recall all the varieties of fish), and each bite featured the most delicately cut slices of the freshest fish I've ever tasted. The balance between the rice and fish was just right, with generous slices of fish complemented by smaller portions of rice, allowing you to truly savor each bite. The small shellfish platter we received was harmonious; the uni added a creaminess to the squid and octopus that I never knew they needed! Everything served had its own purpose; each component was necessary and fit together beautifully. By the end of the meal, I was completely stuffed yet co...

"Haven't been to Spago since their facelift and I'm so happy some things never change. Spago is still the overall number one restaurant in all of Los Angeles. First, the ambiance: The new look is updated but not overdone and the feeling in the dining room and the garden is still very much warm, cozy and elegant. The Food: Pure perfection from start to finish!! We opted to go with the tasting menu $240 per person) along with some choice wines throughout the meal a full wine pairing is also available). Every single item in the tasting menu ranged from very good to amazing. The fact that this kitchen crew can execute a regular a-la-carte menu, along with a separate tasting menu to such perfection of timing and most importantly look and flavor is quite impressive. Favorites were the Gazpacho, Halibut, and Veal but everything else was absolutely delicious!! The tasting menu is extensive and for most people would be enough but not for us!! So added the ridiculously amazing bread box, a side of what can only be described as the best mashed potatoes you will ever have, and a chocolate soufflé....why you ask...jest because The service: Our server Gerhardt and the Sommelier Devin were superstars, as well as the team around them. Service pace was perfect and the wines recommended by Devin were excellent Gruner Veltliner, Rioja, Riesling). GREAT JOB!!!"
