"This place was so good!! Been wanting to try this place for so long and I was not disappointed! We ordered the Budae Jjigae, tangsooyook and soy chicken wings. We also got the real fruit pineapple soju and a cass beer. This budae jjigae was so delicious! We got a small ride but honestly I would come there for only that! The tangsooyook was also beautifully fried but we ordered rice to eat it with which was freshly cooked. And the chicken was very good quality! Large wings beautifully crisp! My only complaint was the soju was so foamy and the actual soju was at the bottom, and they beer was not cold. They brought us frosted glasses to drink it but that didn’t help. The drinks was half the bill so beware but also not surprised in a city like San Diego. Anyways besides that the food was incredible! They deserve five stars non the less!"

Honestly the only restaurant I have ever experienced that whole heartedly deserves 5 stars. Amazing, just absolutely amazing

The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was wonderful! The portions were generous, so we ended up with leftovers. The servers were friendly, and our meals were served promptly. View menu

Fantastic Korean drinking bar! Be sure to try their fruits served with soju. I really enjoy coming here after a night out in a group as a late-night spot. I had a wonderful time, at least from what I can recall!

This place feels more like a bar than a restaurant! If you're looking to eat without having drinks, I suggest heading next door to DJK. Here, you'll have to pay extra for additional side dishes. However, the kimchi is good, and the service is excellent.

This place is excellent! The food is authentic, and the atmosphere is really cozy. I tried the ribs and Bulgogi fries. The ribs were incredibly juicy and perfectly seasoned. The fries are nicely charred with a fire torch. Just a heads up—their spicy dishes are extremely spicy! The portions are so generous that two very hungry people couldn’t finish even half of the two-dish meal. View menu

Make sure to order the bulgogi, Spicy Daeji Galbi Jjim, steamed dumplings, and kimchi fried rice—you can thank me later! If you're a fan of cheese, go for the Dduboki and request extra cheese. They’ll torch it right in front of you! Pair your meal with an ice-cold Cass beer. If you're in a large group, don't miss out on the watermelon drink; you'll get an entire watermelon filled with alcohol to share with your friends!

Looking for a great intimate place to hang with friends and drink? I recommend thang thang. I went here early dinner so it was pretty quiet. However, I can imagine this place being busy during the night and weekends. This is a great hidden spot off engineer road. If you’re looking for some Korean chicken and some beer this is the place to go. The atmosphere is pretty intimate and chill. And the service was great! The girls there were quick to serve and there is a call button in case it gets busy. Recommend The side dishes were bomb And always always get the chicken Be careful of spicy though if you’re sensitive. It’s pretty hot.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
