"We visited Liberty House for the third or fourth time yesterday, and it's quickly becoming our favorite brunch spot! The French toast and BLAT I had on previous visits were outstanding. Although I typically don’t order salads, I decided to try the Cobb salad this time, and it was fantastic. It was incredibly fresh with a delightful mix of flavors, and without a doubt, the best bacon I've ever had. The service was consistently friendly and attentive as well. Make sure to save us a table on the outdoor terrace—we'll definitely be back!"

It’s not just your run-of-the-mill selection; this bar featured about eight handcrafted salsas, each with its own unique flavor profile. Whether you’re a fan of mild, tangy salsas or crave a spicy kick, there’s something for everyone. This kind of attention to detail in offering a variety of salsas is a testament to their commitment to providing an authentic Mexican dining experience. For my meal, I ordered the steak fajitas, paired with their house special margarita. The sizzle of the fajitas as they were brought to the table instantly got my taste buds going. The steak was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. The accompanying peppers and onions were fresh and added a nice balance to the dish. But what truly impressed me was the authenticity of the flavors. "The food, beverages and service were excellent, and our table in the back looked into the garden...too bad it was a little chilly to dine outside. The only drawback was the noise level as there does not appear to be any soft surfaces to reduce the noise. We were seated next to a table of 6 or 7 and they were having lively conversation with lots of laughs. Nice folks but we were not unhappy when they finished. Reina was a good value and we'll go again when we come back to Frederic."

"How this place has 4.8 stars is beyond me. I suppose I should have managed my expectations- can’t compare NC cuisine to the great restaurants I’ve dined at in NYC, Paris or San Sebastián. My husband and I made a booking at Vivian for our wedding anniversary; we flew in for the weekend from NY. The food was so mediocre. We shared the smoked oysters, the deviled eggs, the grouper crudo, the smoked roast chicken and angel food cake for dessert. The oysters had shell, the deviled eggs needed salt, the grouper crudo was extremely tough and chewy, and the chicken was bland and super dry. It didn’t really have flavor other than the smokiness and couldn’t even taste the shaved truffle. Everything needed salt as well. The angel food cake was also over cooked and dry. For a James Beard nominated chef, I would have expected better. And the service was sub-par. When the waitress removed one of our empty courses, she spilled sauce all over my side of the table and didn’t notice. I had to ask her to wipe it off with a rag. And I had to ask for more water repeatedly as our water jug sat empty several times. We felt kind of abandoned. She was nice though. I really wanted to love this place. Alas, we left very disappointed. Would not recommend."

"Chestnut is my favorite restaurant in Asheville. Staff is wonderful, ambience is great for anything between a romantic meal and a company dinner. They have a nice bar area. Portions are moderate (don't expect a trough of food like you get at a chain restaurant) , but I will take quality over quantity any day. For the quality you get, the prices are fairly moderate and worth it. Probably only costs about $30 more than dinner for 2 at Olive Garden. The menu changes regularly. Make SURE to save room for their desserts. The souffle is divine! I walk out of their feeling satisfied every time."
