"We came here while in town for a friends wedding. We stopped here for breakfast. Our waitress was so nice I wish I had written down her name to mention her. We went on the earlier side and were able to get a seat right away which was nice. The menu had a lot of good options and some good variety of breakfast things. We ordered a scramble and avocado toast. I wish my toast had been a little bit more toasted, it didn't seem like it had been warmed or toasted at all. The breakfast potatoes were pretty good and we asked for them extra crispy. Our drinks were also pretty good. Overall, I didn't think it was amazing but it was a good place to stop and grab a big breakfast before being busy all day in the area."

"Although you can't actually spend the night here, you'll surely wish you could. The food is full of flavor, demonstrating their mastery of barbecue. The prices are very reasonable, making it only slightly more expensive to take the family out for dinner than a trip to McDonald's. The atmosphere is pleasant, featuring warm wooden accents and the smoky scent of the meats, complemented by charming hanging decorations. While the decor isn’t excessively flashy, there’s still plenty to catch your eye."

"I have always loved this restaurant but tonight my partner and I were both served a meh meal. My gnocchi were pillows of tastiness but they were drowned in an acidic tomato butter sauce. The minestrone soup was bland with hard garbanzo beans. My partner had linguini with meat sauce. The meat sauce had pieces of meatballs that were made with bread crumbs. Once again, the sauce was subpar and lacked flavor. He did his best with table salt and pepper but overall the dish was a disappointment. His side salad was fresh and delicious. The server was attentive except that she neglected to offer to refill our non alcoholic drinks. She did bring us boxes for leftovers and the dessert menu when she thought we were done but she pointedly ignored our empty glasses (which had never been refilled during the course of our meal). Waitress was training someone and seemed to be the only waitress so maybe she was stretched too thin. Ambiance is decent restaurant is comfy and always clean. We will come here again but will wait a bit hoping it is back up to this usual standard next time we visit."

"4 meals ordered. One of them, the trout (from the regular menu--not a weekly special), we were told was not available; two hours after the restaurant opened for the night. The chicken breast on a second order had to be sent back because it was raw, and the shrimp that was supposed to be a part of the dish was forgotten and was brought to the table on a separate plate. Third dish, Poblano pepper with salmon was mostly tasteless, with too much sauce and overcooked salmon. Dish 4, the half chicken, was greasy, and the fried potatoes were too salty. The bill came to $176.00, which is about $100 more than it was worth. No compensation for the raw chicken at all (that should have been taken off the bill). Slow service for such a small place. We will not be going back. All that the owner had to say about our meal was that Not everyone likes our type of food ."

"Sals is absolutely amazing! I’ve been getting pizza here since as long as I can recall living in here in Algonquin. I can quite honestly say that anyone you ask will recommend sals as the go-to pizza place, and I couldn’t agree more. Nothing ever tastes bland or like it’s been frozen and warmed up, sals always makes the pizza right in front of you to see and it’s always top quality, fresh, hot pizza. Sals is the way to go!!"

"I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant! I placed a pickup order that was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes, but it took over 40 minutes when I arrived, even though the place wasn't busy. The waitress/bartender was on her cellphone and seemed completely unbothered by the delay. I ordered the country skillet for 14 dollars, and it was just as disappointing as it looked—there were no eggs on it, and I couldn't find any gravy either! The corned beef hash, which cost 5 bucks, tasted like it came straight from a can. To top it off, they charge extra for takeout but don't even provide napkins or silverware. The service was rude, the owners seem to cut corners, and the food was mediocre and overpriced. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else!"

Our last great meal at Montarra was July Since then, on two occasions, both my husband and my dinners (grouper and chilean sea bass) were dry and lacked the wonderful sauces and combination of flavors that were an expected Montarra standard."

"When I went to this restaurant, I knew I loved it here! I heard other people's reviews. I had to go in. The staff looked very professional, imaginable and happy eager to serve us, and they were very friendly, and also friendly. My partner and I ordered the grilled steak burritos, a soda and horchata on the front counter. We have to go to our table. One of the employees brought free chips and salsa and hot salsas for our Burritos. I really liked the ambience of the dining area, it is a huge place and perfect to bring family and friends for a great time and also on weekends this place would be a hit! When I ate my burrito, I noticed a great difference in food quality, the steak was of high quality than what you would have in other regular Mexican restaurants, they had their own unique season I enjoyed very much on this steak. I loved the Char taste he gave him. The toppings were just as fresh and delicious, you can immediately tell how much better quality the food is here. I would also like to note that this Burrito was huge! The employee also checked us a few times what was nice. We looked around here. That was worth the price! The Horchata was sweet and tasty with taste. My partner Soda was sweet and perfectly carbonized, not often we get perfect soda like this because of lack of coal and syrup in so many other places! The chips were warm and crisp, and the salsa was unique in taste with a hint of tomatoes, and I also enjoyed it. I was happy with everything and they got our job right. Overall, I would give this place 5/5. They earn so much more recognition and business, they are unique and one of a kind in Algonquin. A hidden jewel. Very recommended!"

"Marissa is fantastic! For our office luncheon, I was tasked with using leftover gift cards—12 in total. I anticipated this would be a hassle for the restaurant, so I called and spoke with Marissa. She confidently assured me that she would personally take care of everything. Our order, scheduled for delivery at 11:30, arrived right on time and was delicious. Marissa informed me that she wouldn't be at the store until 3 PM to manage the payment methods. Later, I received a call from her at 6:48 PM, letting me know she was facing some challenges but was determined to resolve them. Half an hour later, she called back to confirm that everything had been sorted out. Marissa truly went the extra mile to ensure our experience was perfect. She never made me feel uncomfortable about using all those Visa gift cards, and in my opinion, she deserves a raise. Thank you, Marissa, for going above and beyond for us! As a repeat customer, I really appreciate it!"

"It had been a while since my last visit to this restaurant, and seeing McAllister's Deli right across the street made me wonder how this place was still operating. However, after tasting their veggie sub, I no longer had any doubts. I stopped by while waiting for my child to finish their after-school activities, and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious and generous ingredients in the sub. The homemade giardiniera was the standout, not overly spicy but packed with flavor. The bread was also excellent, made without any questionable ingredients. The prices were very reasonable given the quality of the food. I highly recommend trying their innovative and tasty subs."

Also odd after flavor that tasted like reheated meat after too many days. Verydisappointing 3.The meat amount I got for tacos and on the nachos is about 60% less. Outrageous 4. To make matters worse, thestaff that was always friendly appears to also have a hit. I picked up an order on a Wednesday before noon. It was not busy.But for some reason. The two ?ladies? there at that time, were both pretty unpleasant. First the one who took processed mypayment seemed less than thrilled to be working and came across rude. Then the one who bagged the order rolled her eyes verybluntly at me when I Politely asked if there was sauce in the bag already. After paying an obscene amount of money for thefood that does not stand up to the quality I think I have the right to ask if there is food already in the bag. It pains me tosay goodbye to my old favorite Mexican food spot after being a faithful local supporter through the entire pandemic. Mysuggestions to the owners.. bring back the ladies you used to have up front that at least seemed to enjoy working. But also, asa customer, I would have preferred to pay more for the food than for you to seriously cut many corners to the foodquality. Looking for a new place now."

"Poor selection of ice cream and this is their peak season. NO air conditioning inside made for a very uncomfortable, sweaty wait. We couldn’t wait to get back outside where it was 90 and felt cooler. Paper straws are ridiculous 2 minutes inside the shake and they’re collapsing on themselves."

"On a Saturday night, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by Scorched Earth Brewery for beers, live music (Shannon Marie is amazing), and pinball. By the time we arrived, Billy's Bricks on Wheels food truck had already left before their scheduled time.My boyfriend enjoyed two beers Flipmode and Sloppy Kisser while I enjoyed Sweetie Pie, a Strawberry Rhubarb gose, which was light, sweet, tart, and sour. I also tasted Gose the Distance, which was light, subtle, fruity, tart, and sour. Before heading out, we checked out their five pinball machines. It cost $1 a play, which included 3 balls. If we return to Scorched Earth Brewery, I hope to try their Fruiternity: Mojito Gose (Can Only) and Slip n Slush: Cherry Limeade (Crowler Only)."

"I truly love this place, But this message is for the owner. I think it is EXTREMELY RUDE of you to have your hard working staff to stop preparing orders just to make yours. You have an amazing staff and to put them in a position like that is terrible business. I placed an order in July 3rd at 707am . I arrived 10 minutes later and I knew I was early and waited. The young lady said 15 minutes over the phone. I said no problem,seeing I have never had any issues prior. You then show up and put all orders on hold just so the cook can make yours. I am a paying customer, remember those people who provide your location business. Anyhow the cook was beyond stressed out as you watched over him to complete your order. Doesn't matter if your the owner. You should take care of your customers first. Regardless to say your order was made and on you went with your merry self while I stood there waiting for 42 minutes and leaving your crew to explain to me why I had to wait. How absolutely RUDE and ignorant on your part sir. You have an amazing group of employees who work very hard. They are the only reason why I go there and have shown this place to many many of my friends and family. Do better sir."

"I recently visited Chubby's for the first time, and I was really impressed by their extensive menu—it was a bit overwhelming! I found this to be a nice change from places where you have to clean up after yourself, which can feel like self-service at a mall or Walmart. Overall, it's a fantastic little hidden gem!"

"Chili's has become a favorite of mine. They offer a wide variety of delicious dishes, and everything I've tried has been tasty. The restaurant is always clean when I visit, and the decor is beautiful. Plus, there are numerous TVs showing different things to watch. Each table has a mini tablet that allows you to pay and play games, which are generally enjoyable and help pass the time. There’s trivia, quizzes, and fun games for kids, too. The servers are consistently fantastic, and I’ve never had a negative experience with them. The prices are great, and the portion sizes for entrees are quite generous. They have amazing deals, like the 3 for $10 which includes an appetizer, entrée, and drink, or the 2 for $25 deal that features an appetizer, two entrées, and a dessert. The food is always delicious; I usually start with chips and salsa and then order a burger or Cajun pasta for my main dish. It’s so good that I can’t get enough! The ice cream cookie sandwich for dessert is especially delightful. Overall, it's an excellent spot for almost any occasion. I even jokingly told my friend that I’d consider Chili's for wedding catering!"

"This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Impeccable service, which is hard to find lately. The food is delicious and the chef goes out of his way to accommodate special dietary needs! I eat a plant-based diet so I ordered a vegetable sushi roll and a noodle dish with tofu, no egg. I also ordered a curry, to take home to my son. The chef took the time to come to the table to ask me if I'm vegan because many of their sauces have fish sauce as an ingredient. I didn't think of this, so I was grateful to the chef to personally come talk to me about the menu, then make my meals without fish sauce. He also brought me spring rolls instead of the typical soup and salad that's usually presented with sushi, because they had animal products in them and he could make the spring rolls vegan. The meals were reasonably priced, more than fair in today's economy. Vegetarian options: Mention you're vegan or vegetarian and they'll accommodate."

I suggested getting takeout from Bonefish and we decided to order the bang bang shrimp dinner.
