"very disappointing lunch! at 1:52 a.m. the hostess said: “Hurry, I must put you”. lunch is until 2:30 a.m. sketchy at best service. felt undesirable. the huhn am salat was hard, a first for my wife. my pommes with “processed Patty” pub burger were cold. I ask server if she could have kitchen to get me fresh hot pommes. she came back later to say friyer was “down”. had heard many great things, but that was unacceptable for a $54 lunch with 2 water"

"Anniversary trip we overnighted in Berea Kentucky. Just for the night before continuing to our destination. We stopped at El Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant on a whim. We are so glad we did. There was ample parking. Probably more than they need. Whichis a good thing. The restaurant has a wonderfully cheerful atmosphere. The decor is bright colors and tastefully done. Verycute. Although we did not have children with us there were several families at tables throughout the restaurant all enjoyingtheir meals. Or so it seemed to me. The food was absolutely wonderful. I had a chicken Quesadilla that was the best I haveever had. I could NOT stop eating even though I was full. The portion size was just perfect for my husband to eat some too. Thanks to him I wasn't tempted to eat the whole thing. Our server Erasmo was charming and attentive. Quick to take our ordersand the food came out hot, delicious and with good timing. I want to go back on our way home from Georgia. I just wish they hada location in our hometown in Michigan. The only reason they did not get a 5th star is the ladies restroom. Be careful if yougo in there because of the sink hole in the floor in front of the stalls. If you are not watching for it you could be introuble. I almost was, as I stumbled on it. Not to the point of falling thank goodness. Don't let this deter you fromvisiting the El Rio Grande in Berea Kentucky because it has a fantastic quesadilla."

"I 've lived in Berea over 25 years and ate there twice until today. The last time (over 10 years ago) they had Fox news blasting on the TVs, AND country music playing at the same time. The food wasn 't bad, but what an assault on the ears. I now live 2 minutes away and thought I 'd give it another chance. The $11 for 2 pork chops (online menu says juicy and covered in BBQ sauce), sounded like a good deal, but were the toughest, driest, grizzliest, thinnest ones I 've ever had, and no BBQ sauce. My waitress didn 't check back in a few minutes, which is basically one of their main duties in my book. I flagged down a different one to get BBQ sauce. My waitress eventually checked on me when I was about done, and asked how everything was. I gave a sad ok , which should have been her cue to ask if there was any problem and what could she do to make it better. Nope. I don 't think I 'll be giving them another chance."

"I loved this place! Fast and friendly service! It has a Cracker Barrel feel to it but honestly I like the food better. I had the catfish, side salad, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and corn. The catfish was really tender and the breading on top of it was so flavorful I didn't need any sauces, the mashed potatoes were just ok but with the gravy it was delicous. The gravy has pieces of roast in it so I can tell you that their roast is delicious. The corn tasted like homegrown corn. My husband had the fried chicken, fried okra, and macaroni and cheese and they were good too. My two children had chicken tenders and fries and you can tell they are made there and not just pulled out of the freezer. We spent 45 before tip (that is about the same amount we spend at fast food). We tipped 10 because our waitress was great! We will definitely be back."

"This restaurant is incredibly charming and spotless! Although the menu is small, there are plenty of vegan options, which was fantastic. I had the tofu Banh Mi, and my husband enjoyed the Veggie Hummus Grill. We both liked my dish, but we absolutely loved his! The prices are great too—our sandwiches were around $8 each. It's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for something much better than a standard turkey and cheese sandwich!"
