"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."

"I had been looking forward to dining at Tallula for awhile. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype and at the end, was priced like a Michelin starred experience without the menu or experience of one. Food: I came with a friend and we both got the tasting menu with the bread basket to start. The bread and butter was actually excellent and the best part of the meal. The opening appetizer was raw scallops, and that was actually quite nice, as it had a floral and peppery taste to it. The 2nd course was fois gras with (more) bread. Perhaps this is where I wish we didn?t start with the bread basket, as the bread with the foie gras seemed like cheap white toast in comparison. The foie gras itself, I felt was ruined. Perhaps I am a purist, but whatever gelatin and berry mix they made with the foie gras taste overly acidic and fruity and took away from the rich, earthy, buttery ness that one would expect. Next up was the pasta I had squid ink cavatelli and my friend had the lobster pasta. Both portions were laughably small and the lobster dish was bland; overall nothing special and we both felt we would get a much better dish at any other restaurant. The protein was a short rib, which was too salty, and again, felt like it lacked novelty. Finally was desert, which again was very bread forward with 2 dense brownies for each serving again, nothing novel, and we could barely swallow it after what felt like such a bready meal as is. Service was okay, I believe our server could tell that we didn?t like the food (we didn?t finish most dishes) and ended up avoiding us in favor of other tables, and it was quite clear we weren?t getting serviced as kindly as other patrons. It also didn?t help they put us at a table right by the door that was constantly open/closing on a 20 degree evening. After a 4 course tasting menu, 1 drink, tax/tip, the meal ended up being $132 just for myself. It was a bit upsetting because I have had truly exquisite Michelin experiences at that price point. Overall, glad I experienced it, but likely will not be returning or recommending."

"I purposely went on a Sunday for the Brioche Frite because they are only available on Sundays, but I'm kicking myself because I got so distracted by the options that I forgot about my mission once I was there. However, I don't see it in my pictures, so it might not have been out yet since the croissants weren't going to be out for another hour either when I was there (so there is a downside to going at opening). There is a small parking lot and some tables outside, one of which is in an igloo. No tables inside. French Deux (Vanilla Lavender) Latte: This was possibly one of the best lattes I've ever had. Both flavors shone in the drink, which was also milky and smooth. It is quite expensive at $6.40, but it was good enough to make me want to try their other lattes. Pumpkin Cheesecake Slice: Sooo thick but so delicious. Definitely something that you'll either want to couple with milk or the like, share, or not eat in one sitting. Kouign Amann: This seems like one of their most popular pastries, but I didn't like it to be honest. It tasted like a denser croissant, a bit dry and not as flaky or buttery. I didn't taste the vanilla sugar. Scones: All of the scones had a good consistency and were flavorful. I liked the Pesto Gruyère and Feta Za'tar scones; wasn't a fan of the Marzipan Orange scone. Matcha Ricotta Pound Cake: The flavor of this was very good, but the pound cake was dry. Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie: Solid cookie. Delicious flavor and crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside.I'd rate everything that I ordered a 4/5 overall because there were some misses and they are on the more expensive side, but I'm bumping to a 5/5 because the service was stellar. The person who took my order was so sweet and patient."

"came here for lunch on a workday after being intrigued by their menu. I really enjoyed the food! I got the black miso ramen and pork gyoza. The pork gyoza was good, it came out on a sizzling platter and they poured some tonkotsu stock on top. I liked this presentation and the gyoza soaked up the tonkotsu flavour. I did like the tonkotsu and gyoza flavour together (confused about another reviewer who said they couldn 't taste it? , though the crispiness of the gyoza is lost in the process. However, i think this is the best way to execute this idea if the gyoza were prepared by any other softer method, the skin would just be too soggy. Another note is that the gyoza are served with a really nice vinegary soy sauce, but it was hard to taste it in combination with the tonkotsu flavour. possibly having the dipping sauce be more viscous, like a glaze, would help distinguish the flavours better. As for the black miso ramen, i really enjoyed it. The tonkotsu broth had a good level of funkiness, authenticity, and depth. it was a perfect amount of saltiness for myself as well, such that i could enjoy drinking the broth by itself. the charcoal aromatic oil was interesting too, adding an interesting earthiness, and also it kind of left a lingering tannin/prickly like sensation on my tongue. The thicker, bouncy noodles served as a well picked accompaniment to the broth. And the toppings were all wonderful! The chashu was lean and thickly cut it tasted tender and like it had a nice brining because the flavour was great throughout. I adored the corn fritter so much it added a great texture when crisp, and tasted soooo good when soaking in the tonkotsu. the blanched bean sprouts and ground meat also worked with the dish.finally, i was greeted and served by a stoic and silent but attentive man. He didn 't say much but still knew when to bring my check and when i was ready to order at the exact right time. I really enjoyed this different style of service.overall, i really enjoyed the creativity in the food, and it was cheaper for ramen shops as well. I will definitely be coming back for more i want to try the matcha vegetarian option (it is cool that they have two veggie options!!! never seen a ramen shop have that many options and some of the japas too."

"One of the best culinary experience that Cambridge can offer. As one of the top 3 Mediterranean restaurants in Cambridge, Oleana certainly did not disappoint. I’ve been to quite a few upscale Mediterranean restaurants, but Oleana was one of the few places that can masterfully combine the authentic and contemporary elements of Mediterranean cuisines. Oleana focuses more on the Turkish dishes which also makes them stand out a bit more, We started off with the whipped feta which was a great representation of how spices are used in Mediterranean dishes. The subsequent hot meze plates Vermont quail kebob, moussaka, borek, trout spanakopita were also spectacular. While the spice levels have been compromised to make the dishes more palatable, the subtle scent of different spices was adequate to make them interesting. For the entrées, we had the lemon chicken and the Istanbul fish stew. Lemon chicken was covered in za’atar which is a mix of different spices, and the cheese pancake underneath perfectly compensated for the slightly dry texture of the chicken. Istanbul fish stew was the only menu that I thought was a tad bland, but it was still a nice introduction to Turkish food. We finished our meal with their signature baked Alaska which was phenomenal. Under the melted zesty meringue were some coffee ice cream and coconut pastry, and I enjoyed every bite of it. Co Highly recommend trying them out, but make sure to make the reservation at least two weeks in advance."

"My wife and I wanted a nice laid-back place to sit outside and enjoy a fun dinner. We ended up being very disappointed by the service. Our server took about 10-15 minutes to get to the table (which feels like an eternity when you are waiting to order beverages). They took our drink order and quickly returned with a cocktail and waters but the beer we ordered was delayed by a few minutes. Not a big deal, but then the night went south. We didn't see our server again for a very long time. We started to feel like our appetizer was a little delayed when food runners showed up with our entrees. No app in sight. We let them know and eventually the server brought our app. But we were halfway into the meal by that point. The food tasted fine. Nothing extraordinary but not bad. The nachos, I admit, were delicious. The mac and cheese we ordered was described to have bread crumbs but was missing that. Fortunately the server had it taken care of pretty quickly. We were never asked about having our drinks refilled. And after eating, we waited a long time for our check. It just seemed to take forever for everything. None of the problems by themselves would have been a big deal, but together it added up to a somewhat unpleasant experience. The server was nice and apologetic. They also comped us the appetizer which was nice. May have been an off night or maybe a new server, but I can't say I would recommend going on a Saturday night. Also, we did enjoy the outdoor seating area. It was a little tight, but the ambiance was nice."
