"It was most disappointing. I have dined at The Hourly more than a dozen times mainly for lunch. The tuna tartare which has always been excellent, was this time barely edible, very spicy with different spices and a different color much more brown. My grandson had the Fisherman’s Stew, which was thick and jammed with shell fish, but had a slightly ‘off’ odor, which reminded him of the smelly fishing docks..near us in summer. But the oysters were wonderful, the tuna crisp was very good. And the attentive waitress was terrific and I appreciated the fact that the manager wanted to know about our experience. By now I hope it has all been corrected. It is a terrific restaurant nearly always!"

Great food. Service was a little slow, but now slow enough to bother me. Would go back anytime!!!

The food and service is always dependably good and nothing can beat the selection of fresh oysters. Nice ambience overall.

Cozy and welcoming spot in Harvard Square. Showed up early for our reservation and were seated immediately. Attentive service, nice menu, great seafood. View menu

Excellent dinner overall. Good raw bar and good solid menu overall if you like seafood. One guest suffered from celiac and they stressed other than the fryer, all could be prepared gluten free.

Was craving oysters so popped in and sat on the other side of the bar where they had the game on, also tried the roasted beets and one of the cocktails on tap (the blood orange Negroni), quite delicious. Also a good selection of alcohol-free cocktails tried a few

We went for lunch in a Saturday. The couple at the table next to us were extremely loud so after they left, the ambiance was nice. My clam chowder was bad. My husband said his octopus was good. I think sixty dollars for a light lunch with no alcohol is expensive especially when the food was mediocre at best. View menu

Sunday evening is a delightful time to dine here, our favorite restaurant. It was relatively quiet. Livelier nights are great also, at the same time, the relative quiet was welcome. Love their oyster varieties new ones to try almost every time we come. Great wine list, single malt list. Excellent salads and imaginative first courses.

Have been here once before and it was positive. This time wasnt same level of positive experience. They changed some things on menu but listed them same way and it was not same portion. The server also started off okay but became less and less friendly as lunch went on. A family member ended up getting sick after with stomach issues and literally we ordered same thing as previous time.. no issues then.

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
