"Translated from the Italian meaning tulip, Il Tulipano is a catering establishment for special occasions (wedding, christening, shower, anniversary) located in Cedar Grove. First timers here as my partner and I attended his office holiday party yesterday given by Royal Packaging. Upon arriving off of Pompton Ave., the outside area sparkled in its holiday colors, going into their valet parking. Once inside, stepping into their glass-enclosed entrance, a huge Christmas tree awaited us with views of the bar and 1st floor banquet room leading out to a breathtaking outdoor piazza for wedding ceremonies. The cocktail hour began with the staff walking around with the various plates of hor d'oeuvres. Followed by buffet-style hot and cold appetizers. For our main meal, there was a choice of chicken, beef, and salmon, accompanied by carrots and Brussels sprouts that were cooked to perfection and super fluffy mashed potatoes. All the food on our carefully selected menu is cooked to perfection, and we are still raving about it. The portion of meat was tremendous and fork tender. Each plate presented at our table was cared for as if it were the only dish ordered. To end the night, a dessert dish of mini samplers with the decorated Christmas tree was offered. Presentation is important to their kitchen. Bravo! I got a chance to meet the owner, Michael. Every single staff member worked like a fine-oiled machine, producing a high-quality experience. It was truly an unforgettable experience for us, and we can recommend this place."
