"Today, out of curiosity, I decided to try this place and here’s my honest review. The food bar was well-stocked, everything looked fresh and was nicely replenished. However, we were the only customers inside, which suggested it wasn’t exactly a hot spot. The lunch special included a large bowl and a drink for $17. Ironically, at All You Can Eat places, I usually go back for seconds, but my bowl is never full. Today, I opted for the large bowl instead of the AYCE option, thinking it was a better deal, but my bowl didn’t even come close to being full. The staff mentioned I could refill my bowl if I wanted, but I declined.
There were two main issues: you can’t customize your meat selection, and the liquid options were quite limited. I enjoy cooking wine, but it was missing. Likewise, hot oil and oyster sauce were not available. All the right sauces and oils are essential for a true Mongolian feast. Soup would have been nice too, and at least a fortune cookie would’ve been a pleasant addition, but neither was offered.
In the end, my experience was okay, but certainly not great. For the price I paid, it was fair, but it could have been much better, and honestly, I would have happily paid a few dollars more for a superior experience. That said, I don’t foresee myself returning, as it felt rather lackluster. We considered going to Jasmine in Federal Way, but I’m concerned about their rising prices, inconsistent service, and the removal of soup from their meals, plus the bar often being low or lacking items. If a better grill opens up nearby, I’ll definitely be a customer, but for now, we'll just settle for a grill in Vancouver, BC or Portland during our travels."
