"The only reason I gave them two stars on the food was because my (reorder of a burger was good and the mac and cheese was good. If you factor in the bad attitude though it would have been negative stars!!I like to pride myself in being very fare. I have written reviews for both very good and very bad experiences in establishments. Honestly this one makes me rather sad to write because I have eaten at this restaurant for over 10 years. Fun Fact: I ate lunch at Blue Zucchini the day I got married and up until the past year have sincerely enjoyed every experience I have had there. This is my second time in the last six months where the owner has been rude and defensive about an order at my table and today was the straw that broke the camels back. I ordered the Brielicious Sandwich which hands down is my all time favorite sandwich and my sister and I were sharing a mac cheese because it is phenomenal. My sister, mom and daughter 's food arrived, mine was the last to land. The croissant bun was an overheated (microwaved croissant and not the correct bun and it only had maybe a half portion of turkey on each side, no apple, no pepper jelly and if there was cheese it was the smallest amount known to man. Ya 'll this is a 13.00 sandwich! When I asked my waitress about the cheese and apple she promised me there was cheese mixed in with the meat (nope! and she would fix the apple. I agreed and she took my plate to fix it . While she was gone the owner came over to our table and was very defensive. I have waited tables and I am very kind about mistakes and things being fixed so her rude attitude was greatly unappreciated. She asked me what was wrong... I asked her about the croissant because it use to be on a croissant bun, she rudely explained they couldn 't get them this week. okay. and then I shared it didn 't have an apple, or pepper jelly and overall just wasn 't right. She asked and I kindly explained. I wasn 't nasty, I didn 't curse or have an attitude. She was very much in her feelings that as a customer I was unhappy with the food that was delivered to me. My guess is they used the same amount of turkey on the larger croissant that they use on the smaller bun which was pathetic. When my sandwich landed again it still was the saddest thing I have ever seen with the sad addition of one thin apple slice that again seemed microwaved. The waitress agreed to take it back and just let me order something else. I had a burger the night before but at that point it seemed like the safest option. When it arrived it was delicious however it was delivered by the person I would assume was the chef who proceeded to toss my plate in front of me with an attitude and then re-coiled back to get his dig in that he, doesn 't use a microwave. very rudely. Wow! Just wow, I have never in my life been treated so rudely for a 13 dollar sandwich that clearly was one of the most pathetic things to ever come out of a kitchen. Do better Blue Zucchini! I have recommended you to friends and family 100 's of times over the last 10-11 years and it breaks my heart to be treated so poorly and have below average food. You clearly need an attitude adjustment and not be so defensive when a customer isn 't happy with their food. I will never recommend you to anyone again and will share this story with everyone I know. Clearly this business is struggling and instead of upping your customer service you get defensive when a customer isn 't happy with the quality of product you serve. I wish I had taken a picture of what I was served but honestly I was in such a shock that they would even serve such a mess to a customer I didn 't. I sure hope if you choose this place you are treated better than I was. As for me, Im not sure I will ever go back as long as the same people own it."

"We were a party of two and ordered two waters, fresh spring rolls, two sushi rolls, and chicken fried rice. The waitress quickly attended to us when we arrived and brought out the waters and fresh rolls promptly. However, after delivering the rolls, she didn’t take our remaining order. After about 6-8 minutes, I managed to eat half of my fresh roll. To my dismay, I discovered a long black hair embedded in the sticky rice paper of the other half I was about to eat. It came out as I took a bite, and I have to say, it was an incredibly unpleasant experience that almost made me vomit. When I waited for the waitress to return, it felt like an eternity. I decided to go inside the restaurant since we were seated outdoors, and when two waitresses came out, neither of them acknowledged my presence as I stood there holding the plate with the hair. I had to say, “Excuse me,” to get their attention. I showed them the hair, and the only response I received was, “Sorry. Do you want another or should I take it off the bill?” I declined a replacement, and she immediately turned away, seemingly unconcerned. We waited for someone to respond to our request to cancel the rest of our order, but no one came back. Since we only had water, we decided to leave. Suddenly, a waitress rushed out and started taking long photos of us and our vehicle. I got out of the car and went back inside to ask why they thought it was acceptable to photograph me. The staff quickly scurried away. Eventually, the waitress returned to say she didn’t know why she had taken my picture but added that if it made me feel any better, the photo came out blurry. Then, a rude older Asian woman confronted me, accusing me of trying to skip out on my bill. I explained that my appetizer had hair in it and that we had only received waters. She raised her voice, insisting that I had walked out on my meal while pointing at the chef behind the sushi counter. I reiterated that I no longer wanted anything from their restaurant due to the hair, the lack of professionalism, the uncomfortable encounter, and her attitude. Overall, I have to say, I won’t be returning. This experience was beyond disappointing!"

"If a restaurant has been in the same location since 1973, it must be doing something right in terms of quality, pricing, and service. Becky's Mary's Soul Food Restaurant is situated about a block off N. Centennial, just past its intersection with Kivett Drive. There’s a decent-sized gravel parking lot to the left of the unassuming building. Instead of a prominent sign, a small one in the front window next to the entrance tells you that this is the place. The interior is simple and shows some signs of age, featuring three or four booths along the right wall and 10 to 12 tables in the remaining area. It operates more like a fast-food establishment: you order and pay at the register, grab your drink, and find a seat while waiting for your name to be called. Orders come out fairly quickly as long as the fried chicken is ready—typically, it’s available after 11:30. Other menu items are displayed in trays on a steam table, similar to Pete's Grill in Gibsonville, and the service is efficient. You can usually choose from three meat options and four or five side dishes. Fried Chicken is a mainstay, along with offerings like Meat Loaf, Fried Pork Chops, Stewed Chicken, Collards, Yams, Potato Salad, and Mac and Cheese. You can select one, two, or even three meats. The Fried Chicken is exceptional, boasting great flavor and a thin, crispy skin reminiscent of Price's Chicken Coop in Charlotte. My order of dark meat came with a leg and a back—a first for me—and while the back piece was a bit lean, it was still tasty. The Meat Loaf is dense and flavorful, topped with a generous layer of tomato sauce that's easy to scrape off if preferred. The home-made Mac and Cheese is delicious, packed with cheese. The Yams are very sweet, perhaps overly so for my taste. The Cornbread is thin with a nice crust and isn’t sweet at all. The rolls are standard commercial ones, lightly toasted on a sandwich press—I'd suggest skipping those. Prices for plates range from $6 to $7, with portion sizes being adequate. They also serve a fantastic mix of Sweet Tea and Lemonade that I highly recommend. Breakfast is available with standard fare, plus unique options like Livermush and Salmon Eggs. The staff is incredibly friendly, and while they work at a relaxed pace, they get things done efficiently."

"We had friends rave about this place, saying it’s the best dog they’ve ever had and the cheeseburger was fantastic. We checked it out today. The patrons were very nice, but the staff was too busy for pleasantries. The menu is tacked to the wall at every booth. CASH ONLY and you better read how to place your order because if you are used to saying ATW and getting mustard, slaw, chili and onions, you will be disappointed. A little man came back in and said he didn’t get slaw. She told him he got what he ordered and if he wanted everything, he should’ve said Loaded. Yikes. The price is the same so I’m not sure why she just didn’t give him a little container of slaw. We upgraded to the all beef dog and got it loaded. We also ordered a double cheeseburger. The condiments are free but there is an up charge for everything else see menu pic. They were out of fries so the only option was bagged chips. Pass. They understand the definition of double CHEESEburger because each patty had cheese. Show of hands: who else gets aggravated when a double cheeseburger only has one piece of cheese? The burgers were very bland so I had to add quite a bit of salt and ketchup. My burger had 6 pieces of very tough gristle. They were small but that just made it worse because I had to chew like a baby to try and separate the gristle from the meat. The beef hotdog itself was good as was the steamed bun. The slaw tasted like bulk slaw at the grocery. The chili is watery, had no flavor and didn’t add anything of value to the dog. They are very clear that you need to order, eat and get out. Don’t go here expecting to chat or relax over lunch. We parked behind the building and spaces are really limited. They have a front and back door and you wait to seat yourself. Two entries makes it hard to know who was first. We will not go back."
