"Wonderful dining experience with a friend. Excellent service, very good food, pleasing atmosphere, pricey but to be expected. Food portions are small but substantive especially for and evening meal. Wine recommendations by waitress excellent. Nice follow up by staff after dinner with pertinent questions to address any concerns or complaints. The Mirror Lake Inn is truly a lovely place to stay. The staff throughout the complex are all eager to please and address any issues that may pop up in a most courteous and professional manner. The owners, management and general staff do an excellent job at providing a very friendly family like atmosphere. Thank you for another memorable stay."

"This restaurant had a nice, quiet atmosphere, and it seemed to attract mostly locals. We arrived without a reservation, but they quickly set up a table for us. Our server did an amazing job; she attended to all ten of us, and although there were a couple of mix-ups, it was impressive given the size of our group and that she was handling it all alone. We returned the following night, and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the same server. She managed our large table effortlessly and was constantly on the move to ensure we were well taken care of. I really think she deserves a raise; she truly made the owners proud with her exceptional service!"

"I was not expecting such a delicious torte from a restaurant in this area, where vegan options are limited. This is the perfect spot to visit after a hike or if you have a long journey back. They have several interesting beers on tap that I will definitely try next time. The vegan pizza on the menu was fantastic, and the pickled shiitake appetizer was also delicious. I wish there were more vegan options, but regardless, this will now be a regular dining spot for us."

"Not really, there is definitely yummy vegan soup here! The Mulligatawny Soup is vegan, hearty and awesome eat your heart out Kramer! The menu is marked with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options very plainly and the staff is sensitive and knowledgeable. The chef is the owner and there are often vegan specials so ask! We have also had the Vegetable Tempeh Udon Noodles (vegan) and the Solstice Salad (vegan), both of which are excellent. They have added a few more vegan options since last we visited and we cannot wait to try them out! Finally, they have excellent mock tails for those who are alcohol free."

"Update: we notified the server of a severe gluten allergy and we had to bring our friend to the emergency room. When we called to notify the restaurant they dodged us and said “how do you know it was our food?”The food was great but the service was lacking. The hostess didn’t want to seat us even though there were open tables. She vaguely said to come back in 20-25 minutes and said she couldn’t take our names down. Luckily there were bar chairs available so we chose to sit there. We noticed every party got seated after us and when we asked to move to an open table the hostess said she had to ask if there was a reservation even though she couldn’t take a reservation from us. This table we asked to be seated at remained open for the duration of our stay…Dietary restrictions: Severe gluten reaction"

"Morty Edna's Kitchen is a GREAT place to dine! I had a savory cheese sandwich with minced steak inside it, and it was very tasty! I had attended a special event Karaoke feature on a Saturday night and had a GREAT time! Even the staff came out to sing for this event!"

"WOW! This was the food highlight of our trip to Lake Placid. We ordered the Brisket Nigiri (not worth it-hard to eat and rice was undercooked , the Signature Rib Nachos (out of this world! and the Brisket Platter. The nachos were a mountain of flavor! Toppings layered throughout. Portion was gigantic. We got the biggest pieces of brisket I’ve ever seen a restaurant serve. One piece was a little overcooked, but the other was the best piece of brisket I’ve had in my life. So tender, juicy, and flavorful! The only critique I have is that there wasn’t enough sauce! This sauce needs to be sold! Make sure to SHARE everything-portions are HUGE! This place was very popular so get on the list early or make a reservation."

"Came in after a hike with some friends and my boyfriend, was told 15 minute wait, seated within 7-10. Our server was super friendly, polite- I forget her name... sorry! Our lattes were so good , food was filling and really good and full of flavor too! Definitely will bring more friends there and visit again! Prices were very reasonable"

"Excellent buritos and quesadillas. Take out menu. There are a few tables. I loved my buritos (it’s huge) and my partner really liked her quesadillas. We really liked the formula: we choose what we put inside using a box that we must complete."

"This restaurant was fantastic! The menu was fun and featured a variety of sandwiches and crepes. My wife, daughter, and I all enjoyed our meals. I can’t quite remember what I ordered, but we were all very pleased with our sandwiches. The bread used for the rolls was delicious! Only one of us ended up trying a crepe— I say "only" because I had expected we would all order crepes, but there were so many other tempting options to choose from. The menu is extensive; it takes a while to explore everything. Each of the 46 peaks has its own unique sandwich or crepe! We would definitely return!"

"We were in Lake Placid, NY for a few days and got this great recommendation from a co-worker's brother. The onion soup au gratin was so flavorful and not salty (one of my biggest gripes about this style of soup) and the insalanta was fresh. Hubby got the mushroom ravioli carbonara and I had the melazane arribiata, which was tender and just the right amount of spicy."

"We stopped here Saturday night just after 8, and the line was out the door. I think by the time we got through it was almost 9. My husband got a s'mores sundae and I got a cookie dough ice cream sandwich. I wanted one of those waffle ice cream sandwiches but those things were massive and there was no way I was going to be able to eat one, let alone get my mouth around one, but they looked delicious. My husband wanted a crazy cookie dough sundae but they had run out of those. By the time we left the line was not only out the door but down the street. We both really enjoyed what we got and the service was good for how busy it was. No complaints. We would come back again."

"This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat, if not my absolute favorite. Every time I enter the restaurant, I know I'm in for an incredible experience. My partner and I decided to visit during these challenging times for small businesses, and we kept an open mind about it. What we encountered was nothing short of extraordinary. We were fortunate enough to have a private seating arrangement, and the service and food were unbelievably fantastic. I was truly impressed by every aspect of their service and how they managed to excel even in such circumstances. Keagan (sorry if I spelled that wrong), along with the chef and kitchen team, exceeded all my expectations during these difficult times. I give them a 10/10—great ambiance, excellent food and drinks, and an amazing crew!"

"The service on the night we dined here was total chaos. I was able to reserve a table on Open Table with no wait, but walk ins were told it would be a 90 min wait. We were seated relatively quickly, was given a glass of water, and then waited for 20 minutes before anyone came back to take our order that just happened to be the host who was checking in guests at the front and was also bussing tables. There were only 4 people actually working the dining area that we could see and there didn’t appear to be any organization to who was doing what. Despite the wait to order, the food came quickly and was good, not great. Average Italian fare, good size portions. Don’t know that I’d go out of my way to dine here again."

"Lunch on the lake. Beautiful day. Had the beet salad. Bed of spinach held julienned apple, feta, loads of pecan halves and of course many slices of beets all bathed in raspberry vinaigrette. Party of five and everyone was happy, especially the one who ordered the Chicken Pot Pie soup. Very busy cuz they have very good food. Had to wait having a drink around a wood stove outdoors. It was a good day."

"C26 Sesame Chicken was disappointing—overcooked and with a strange taste. I decided to try the lo mein for an extra charge, but I couldn't understand how anyone could enjoy it; the smell was terrible, and the flavor made me gag. It was reminiscent of what I would imagine a dirty floor would taste like. The #5 Fried Dumpling appetizer was passable—edible without the accompanying sauce, which was also unpleasant and tasted rancid. I really feel for locals looking for Chinese food; if this is their only option, it’s a shame. Additionally, I found it odd that the app required me to purchase water to place an order, but I thought, "Oh well, I’ll just drink it later since I’m staying in a hotel and have the Coke I actually wanted with my meal.""

"I ordered a rum runner and my husband a Jack and coke. Both were fine. We had gator bites to start-they were WAY TOO tough, very disappointing. I had a burger with mushrooms and onions with sweet potato fries. My husband ordered a chicken Philly (I know, I know-a frequent order-2nd of the day-lol) The burger was PERFECTLY DELICIOUS. The seasoning was really nice. The sweet potato fries were good but a little too thick. Chicken hoagie was good. The chicken had a nice char flavor to it adding another lever of flavor. Jaxson’s is basically a bar with booths. Service was great, swerved was friendly and prompt. The place wasn’t dirty but it was messy."

"I am very surprised to hear how disappointed people are about this restaurant. my first trip was about 4 years ago and my husband and I thought eating was very good. the best chicken-cheese salad I've ever had! I don't remember time problems or worry about the waiting staff. my second trip was yesterday with my lazy while my man had a job meeting. I was very glad to drive the city and see that generations were still there. again the best chicken salad of all time! we sat outside, great weather, great people around and great eating. our server was very attentive and friendly and was able to answer our asking about the things on the menu and what they were made. defines a stop that I will agian!"

"It was okay no more, no less. Not busy, not empty. The gorgeous ? waitress was nice. The steak left me with questions. I ordered a filet medium rare. A large chunk of meat came out to me tapered from thick to thin. It was actually well done on one end and rare on the other. I guess getting the middle two bites proper was good enough. It came out very late compared to everyone else's meal and made me wonder if I was forgotten, and they just slapped it on at the last second."
