"really a first class Indian restaurant. when entering the restaurant they get a feeling of high-end modern with rich Indian culture in the facility. the main dining area is beautiful with colorpops on the individually designed wall paintings on the walls. there is a very cool and intimate private space from the main dining area, which is a real original train car converted into an escaping area. it is worth a look and would be ideal for business meetings or for couples looking for a romantic culinary experience. we had no chance to hang around the bar, but can't wait without leaving the kids. they have made an impressive renovation in the living/bar area and is simply beautiful. I have eaten from the buffet and a la carte menu and both were made of high quality ingredients and recipes. delicious! the buffet had many options with a lot of vegetarian and meat choice. my favorites were the chicken ktikka masala and lamb curry. also the goat,- samosa and rice options were amazing. from the a la carte menu we have a garnel dish that was from this world. we also ordered a grilled chicken dish that came out with a flame presentation. children loved it! the seasoned were exactly right and not exaggerated the taste at all. I was hesitant to bring my children with them, because they are not very adventurous, but even my very picky 6 years old was impressed by the grilled chickenmalai (based grilled chicken without a spicy) and of course the garlic naan (the best I had). he made us laugh and made sure that we enjoy our culinary experience. I recommend this restaurant for families, dates, groups and even business meetings. I look forward to the return flight!"

"The one star was for the exceptional food. The food was great overall. But the service on other hand was a different story. I?m a server myself and there are times where I have to run the restaurant myself so I understand, but there was only one other table and another leaving and she treated us as her last care in the world. When she brought our appetizer over we put in another appetizer and by the time the second one was done she had just brought over silverware and plates and still hadn?t taken our dinner order. We were sitting there with our first appetizer for around 10 minutes no plates no silverware. We had finished eating and I got up to get a menu myself passing our server because when I had asked her for silverware before, I noticed she rolled her eyes and I didn?t appreciate that. I?m not sure if she was profiling us because of our age which I think is pretty disgusting we are 19 and very respectful. We go to many fine dining restaurants and are constantly coming down port and we?ve never experienced this condescending service. We had finally ordered our food way after finishing our appetizer and it came almost 30 minutes later. Our check came to over $75 and I feel like for the price you expect decent service. She didn?t care nor was she apologetic for the way she acted. Again the food was great we plan on coming back we just hope for different service. Our servers name was Sandra."

"Went on New Years Eve with my boyfriend for drinks and we went specifically for the dueling pianos. Called earlier in the week and was advised yes they would have the dueling pianos on New Years Eve....also called again that day to make sure they would have the dueling pianos that night and was advised again dueling pianos would be on at 8:00 that night.. Arrived at Schafers at 9:00 sat down at the bar and asked the bartender why the dueling pianos were not on...was advised they would be coming back on shortly and was suggested we order a drink in the meantime....had our drink, ordered some food....1 hour later still no dueling pianos. Questioned another bartender ans was told no., the dueling pianos would not be going on after all...meanwhile the place started packing out with barely 21 year old kids. Asked for the manager and was advised sorry dueling pianos would indeed not be going on because they are trying to appease the crowd. I was so aggravated at this point....manager offered to comp the 2 drinks and the appetizer my boyfriend and I had but I was not looking for a handout, I just came to have a good time in what I thought would be a classy place. If you are looking for that don't go...this business is all about making a lot of cash off of a bunch of kids....I also heard through some of my friends that there are a lot of fights there.....I wonder why??? I thought we were finally getting a classy, adult, place to go to besides Danfords. I won't go again."

"4 stars overall 5 view, maybe the best view in region Had a nice lunch here over the weekend. They have an interesting board brunch menu but we decided to order off the regular menu. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. The location sits on a cliff with a clear view of Connecticut about 15 miles across the Long Island sound. Wow! The interior is nicely updated and has a large U shaped hard wood bar with granite type top. We were seated at a water view booth overlooking miles of the Long Island Sound. We has a prime strip steak cooked to expectation. Maybe slightly salty, but u can get slightly overly salted steaks at the most premium steak houses. We also had a traditional wedge salad with steak add on. A huge portion of fillet. This was fabulous, i 'd get this on my return. For apps we had calamari, it was decent, just not super. As a side we had a mushroom and roasted corn dish that had smoked bacon and lima beans, very good and unique. Our server was polite, knowledgable and professional. We were enjoying the view so much we ordered cappuccino 's and an apple crisp type desert. Both delicious! I recommend this place and i will return. Overall the food is probably a 4 on the High End Steak House grading scale (not a bad grade, a good grade, just not super excellent). It is sill a recommend and will return The view is phenomenal and worth the trip alone."

"On our little day jaunts to PJ, we normally eat at the Steamroom because it 's dog friendly (and we sometimes have him with us), and even when we are pupless, we 're just so used to eating there. On our last day trip, we ate there, as ever no dog, no complaints. However, I left my jacket at the ferry terminal and had to come back over the following day to retrieve it...so I made a solo trip, and as long as I had to go back, decided to make a half day of it. I didn 't want to hit the Steamroom a second day in a row, so I tried Prohibition, which was crowded also, because the homemade chocolate pudding on the posted Summer Menu drew me in like a fish on a line. The ambience and menu are the current Edison bulb/chalkboard/casual industrial, New American/Food Network. Pretty small space inside, narrow, half of it being a bar most people were out on the sidewalk that day. I had mussels for an appetizer huge bowl, nicely seasoned, dug into the big slices of Texas Toast with the mussel liquid, which seemed to be an Italianate sort of sauce. I then had the brisket street tacos, which were also tasty. Alas, they had sold out of ALL the desserts except a maple cake (I was not in a cakey mood, unfortunately). I have made a vow to get back there and hopefully even with a Winter Menu they will have that pudding. The upshot is that I was kind of glad I left the jacket and had to go back, because I would not have discovered this place otherwise."
