"The restaurant appears to be run by three efficient individuals: a cook and two hostesses. The service is what you'd expect from a mom-and-pop shop—reasonable and friendly. We ordered the classic ginger black chicken soup, reminiscent of how my dad would make it. The blend of ginger and chicken was perfect, offering generous portions for two to four people. I loved it so much that I even ordered an extra bowl to take home! Next, we tried the traditional clay pots, which included Chinese sausage with pork rib, salted fish with beef patty, and catfish with black bean sauce. Each dish came with a generous serving of rice and a small bowl of classic sweet soy sauce. - **Chinese Sausage with Pork Rib (4/5):** This dish was tasty, but the vegetable accompaniment was two broccoli stalks, which was a bit puzzling. I expected bok choy and mushrooms instead. - **Salted Fish with Beef Patty (5/5):** This was a delightful surprise! It tasted amazing with bits of chopped jalapeño and julienned ginger. The combination was rock solid! - **Catfish with Black Bean Sauce (3/5):** Unfortunately, this dish was the least satisfying. It had potential, but it was let down by a couple of thin slices of catfish, bland broccoli, and an overwhelming amount of bean sauce. Overall, I left the restaurant happy and already planning my next visit in the coming weeks to try more of their soups!"

"Bubble Republic has become one of my favorite boba places in SGV for a few reasons:1. Drinks. I'd rate their drinks 4/5 stars; they're good and the boba tastes great in terms of chewiness, sweetness, and consistency. But nothing stands out otherwise. Still, I never had a bad drink from here, both fruit teas and milk teas. I'm looking forward to trying some of their more adventurous options next time.2. Food choices! They have tons of great dishes that are awesome comfort foods. The minced meat rice combo comes in a small portion that ensures you don't feel bloated, but still get a good balanced meal. The tomato beef stew hits the spot if you're hankering for a hot dish on a cold or rainy day; the taste reminded me of my childhood! Other dishes like the fish fillet rice bowl comes in a bento that's sure to leave leftovers for the next day. Many of these dishes also have a combo option for a cheaper tea drink as well, which compliments their food perfectly. Definitely must-try!3. Ambience. The place is often filled with people working or hanging out and enjoying themselves. It has such a cozy cafe-like atmosphere that, combined wit the food and drinks I mentioned earlier, really encourages you to stay and visit often.Be warned, the lot is a bit small for parking sometimes but there's always street parking that's not too hard or difficult to find. If you're ever in the area, stop by and give Bubble Republic a try!"

"After hearing from our neighbor about the fantastic food at this restaurant, we finally decided to give it a try today with a takeout order. Since it was our first time ordering here, I was a bit unsure about what to choose. We browsed their online menu and discovered a wide selection of authentic Vietnamese dishes. Being a fan of Vietnamese cuisine, I wanted to order several items, but my wife suggested focusing on just one dish to avoid overeating at lunchtime. I ended up ordering the broken rice with BBQ pork and shrimp paste. The flavors were genuinely delicious and authentic; however, I did have one complaint: the pork could have used a little more grilling. I prefer my pork slightly charred for that authentic taste. My wife ordered a vermicelli bowl with chicken and shrimp paste, and after trying a bite, I must say it was outstanding and perfectly flavored. We also decided to add some extra egg rolls to our order. This restaurant is one of the few in San Gabriel Valley that makes egg rolls with rice paper. Trust me, egg rolls wrapped in rice paper offer a uniquely crunchy and chewy texture, just like they do in Vietnam. We also got an iced coffee with milk and a cold red bean drink, both of which are very popular in Vietnam. When we visited Vietnam before the pandemic, we enjoyed iced coffee every morning from a shop near our hotel. We definitely plan to return to explore more of their menu!"

"Previously, I wasn’t a big fan of ice pops or vegan "ice cream" due to their texture, but that changed after trying Nomad's pops. Their creamy, vegan options are so rich that you wouldn't guess they're dairy-free. The selection of flavors is incredible, and my kids absolutely adore them. As a cook and baker, I admire the creativity behind their combinations and offerings. I particularly enjoy the seasonal flavors, which provide a fresh experience with every visit. The open kitchen layout offers a transparent view into the shop's cleanliness since there’s no hiding during production. It’s quite common to see employees preparing and packaging the pops right before your eyes. I also appreciate their catering service—staff are consistently friendly and professional. I once ordered a large batch of pops for a PTA event and rented the ice pop cart for another fundraiser, and everyone was thrilled. While they do offer a few dairy options, the majority are vegan or dairy-free, making it an excellent choice whether you're looking to try something new or need good dairy-free desserts. The flavor and dietary information are cleverly engraved on the sticks displayed in the case (V=Vegan, DF=Dairy-free, NCS=No Cane Sugar, etc.). A bonus for those with gluten sensitivities: ALL of their pops are gluten-free! If you follow their Instagram @NomadIcePops, you’ll see they host fundraisers a couple of times a year, with a portion of proceeds supporting the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, and environmental initiatives. It’s a wonderful small business to support. Additionally, Nomad offers custom flavors and personalized sticks engraved for occasions like birthdays, baby showers, or corporate events. Any gathering with Nomad Ice Pops is sure to impress and bring joy!"

"Our waitress then neglected to check on our order. We were there for Dine LA, expecting our meal to be served in courses. Instead, the chicken wings (which were quite good), tofu skin, and vegetable spears all arrived at the same time. We also ordered a short rib skewer and three filet mignon skewers. Both were well-seasoned and tasty, although I preferred the short rib. A few minutes later, three of our entrees—Wagyu and asparagus—arrived while we had hardly started on our appetizers, and our table was a bit cramped for all the dishes. I wouldn’t recommend the Wagyu and asparagus as the presentation and taste were unimpressive; it was just small cubes of meat with asparagus. While I waited for the rice to arrive, I sampled some of the schnapps, which was lukewarm. After several minutes without the rice, we asked a server about it. We waited a bit longer, and still no rice, so I asked the busser for assistance and he finally brought it over. I had previously asked for chili paste, but the waitress had forgotten it, so I had to remind her again. We also didn’t receive the short ribs until 40-45 minutes after the first three entrees were served. I had asked two different staff members to check on them, and they both said they would be out soon. Ironically, other tables that were seated after us received their short ribs at the same time as I did. To be fair, the short ribs were impressive and presented beautifully, but overall, it wasn’t worth the $40 per person for Dine LA."

"Small Taiwanese restaurant/tea shop located next to grocery outlet and Bhanu Indian restaurant. There are only about seven small tables available so this is not a great place for larger groups. They are known for their fresh teas and Taiwanese food. Service is friendly and pretty quick, and they Chinese/Taiwanese music playing in the background.Food/Drinks: Jasmine Green Tea: I stuck with a plain jasmine green tea with less ice and less sugar. I asked for the less bitter choice between the jasmine green tea and assam black tea, and the server told me the jasmine green tea is less bitter. But I still felt that it was bitter and wasn't a huge fan. I think next time I'll try the Assam black tea. Popcorn chicken: My favorite item we tried. They make it with fresh basil and I really enjoyed eating the crispy basil leaves that came with the chicken. We got spicy level and wasn't that spicy. Came in a good sized portion to share. Basil chicken with lo mein: they called this 3 cup chicken (3 杯雞 but it does not taste like that. If anything, it taste more like a chicken and ginger stirfry with lots of green onions and some basil. But I really enjoyed the lo mein, which is stirfried with a caramelized onion sauce. Slightly sweet and savory. The Railroad pork: the pork chop is made with a garlic and ginger marinade. It is soft soft with a layer of breading, and we got it served over rice. I wasn't a fan of this, despite everyone's raving review, the race was a bit dry, and the pork chop is just standard to me. Comes with corn and veggies. Bringing takeout is easy because they serve you the food in the to go boxes already, so they just give you a lid and you're out the door. I think next time I might try the pork Katsu, braised pork, or beef noodle stew."
