"I stopped by this place while working in the area due to all the good reviews. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. Gilson and Antonio were great. They start you off with delicious salsa, none of that tomatoe paste some restaurants serve. I have had several of their plates at lunch, and all were excellent. The morjarra I had to day was absolutely delicious. They also have very reasonable lunch and daily specials also. Photo attached. 5 stars."

"We where traveling his parents told us about this place and it was on the way to our destination. So we stop let me tell you we where so welcomed we planned on sharing a plate and the wonderful lady said are you sure ?? Is that enough for y?all ??And we said we don?t know we have never been, coming from Harnett County NC which is 200 miles back she said well I?m gonnarock yalls world : she definitely did. The first picture is our plate to share the next couple photos is what they blessedus with. And oh my world the sweet tea is perfect, the homemade apple pie the ribs,wings,drummers, chicken, bbq it?s all sodelicious!! The smoke pit potatoes and baked beans ???? are out of this world too!! Thank Y?all so much for being so amazing !!Y?all have made the start to our little getaway a great one. ?? ??????????????????"

"We selected this restaurant based on a recommendation from friends. We were seated quickly and brought chips and salsa for two. We shared that we were meeting another couple who would be there soon. We ordered drinks and were pleased with the $6.99 20 oz margarita special. Our friends came, and we asked for more chips and salsa. We ordered dinner at the same time. Our friends' dinners came out, and the waiter informed us that he had dropped our dinners and we they were remaking the meals. At this point, we asked again for chips and salsa. Our friends were almost finished eating by the time our food came out. We needed water, and we finally got chips and salsa for our friends after they were almost finished eating and our food came out. The food was fantastic, but the service was just awful. We hoped they might give a small discount or a free drink due to the mishap with our food. That did not happen. The restaurant is themed like a traditional Mexican restaurant. Medium noise with music. So, ambiance is typical for a Mexican restaurant."

"I have to say I love this place I got the Big Dipper I hope that I said the right sandwich but the people are excellent here the atmosphere is so laid-back and the staff is so helpful and understanding my wife and I switch out debit cards end credit cards at time I ate my meal and my card declined I even asked to go back to my job and they were willing to let me to go get some money to come back with but I remembered I'd had some change in my car so I came back with the change and paid the $9 and some cents and gave her $3 tip I think this was on the 25th of this month I will extremely go back here and the food was really good"

"Food very bland. This was a party of about 30 and they closed the restaurant for it. No telling how much the plates were. The grooms parents paid but I would of never choose it after reading the other reviews.the bathrooms were not clean. I told the staff they were out of paper towels and they never did put any in there. Made me wonder what the staff was using after washing. The deck out back was closed, for good reason. Trash and just nasty junk . Only had 5 dishes to choose from and none of them sounded good. Igott the chicken something and 5he waitress told me it was spicy.but had zero flavor. The cups and silverware looked grungy. Oh well live and learn. No. I will not ever eat there again.."

"The service and ambiance here was excellent. The menu was very well rounded. We got filet mignon and Royal Red Shrimp to share with salads, sauteed garlic mushrooms and baked potato. There were baskets of a variety of breads and two kinds of butter. Truffles were provided at the end of the meal. It was a beautiful dining experience!"

"The brunch kicked off with a bloody mary that could easily stand on its own as an appetizer! The chicken and waffles, Greek omelet, unique grilled cheese sandwiches, and Chesapeake crab eggs Benedict (as someone who lives on the Chesapeake Bay, I can wholeheartedly approve) were outstanding! If you're a fan of grits, theirs are simply the best I've ever tasted. They also offer a wonderful selection of mimosas and morning cocktails. You can truly feel the passion the owners pour into this place! They treated us like long-time friends and made everyone feel special. If they offered dinner, our family would have returned every night! I genuinely wish I could give more than five stars because they absolutely deserve it."

"We celebrated my dad's 82nd birthday at Amalfi's, and we had an amazing time. It was my first visit, and I immediately loved the atmosphere as soon as I walked in. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our waitress, Alexis E, was outstanding; she made my dad feel truly special on his birthday. Alexis was very attentive to our requests and consistently kept our drinks full without making us feel rushed. The food was excellent, and everyone enjoyed their choices. For my dad's birthday, she brought out a three-scoop ice cream sampler, which he absolutely loved. We also had nachos as an appetizer, and they were delicious and enough for the whole table to share. Thank you for making my first experience there so memorable; my family and I will definitely return!"

"Love this place for lunch especially during mild weather in the falls because you can enjoy food outside and get some sun. Unless you are a bodybuilder, half sandwich is pretty good size for a meal. Other deli place you might need a full sandwich because they skim on the meat but not here. Every thing is good, quality meat, and now they also have soup. Perfect combo for lunch. I like this better than Groucho and Publix because of the environment and servings."

"This is by far the best Mexican restaurant we've got in Statesville! It's authentic Mexican food and not that American Mexican stuff you get at some other restaurants. I highly recommend you try their Mexican tacos. The Carnitas and Lengua are my personal favorites. They also have great cheese dip and tomatillo sauce. If you're not into tacos try their ACP or Mexican burrito. You can't go wrong with either. We go visit La Pelusa usually a few times a week and it's always an enjoyable experience!"

"Second time recently we have ordered the spicy grilled sandwich, asked for the cilantro lime sauce and haven't got it. Yes we could check but normally it's towards the bottom of the bag. They also forgot our fries last time. Overall this is the worsechick fil a I have been too. Normally chick fil a is great at getting orders correct. Will definitely be sitting there andchecking the entire order before driving off from now on."

"As I walk into this old building made of brick and mortar, the aroma of freshly brewed espresso enlightened my nose as I approached a gorgeous green eyed woman with a soft spoken voice at the register. The Spanish guitar playing felt inspiring and relaxed, the chitter chatter from the folks in this place made it lively. The chicken salad croissant was served warm, and crispy. As I sip my dirty chai latte the deep flavors of spice and warmth fill my mouth. I appreciate an excellent chai. Some modern touches have relevance, yet nostalgic old photos of what used to be create a dynamic and eclectic place of comfort. The ambiance in this place has me planning my return… Wifi Chicken salad croissant"

"Old style Mexican restaurant that has great prices and generous portions. The staff was friendly and informative and the food was good. They don't have any Miller Beer products available, but about 4 different kinds of Modelo...so I had water. I choose the ACP, or something like that, which was a choice of protein over rice, with cheese and a side of lettuce and tomatoes. I selected beef, chicken and shrimp as my protein and each was cooked perfectly. The outside of the building doesn't look like much, but the food was exactly what I needed after a long day of travel."

"We visited Jay Bees Hot Dogs in Statesville after a day of visiting wineries near Elkin. I am a big fan of hot dogs have grown up near the Roanoke Weiner stand, so I am always on the lookout for a good dog. To me, that means a hot dog with chili, mustard, and onions. So we had to check out this place. We decided to dine in vs. going through the drive-through. You can tell that this place has been in the community for quite some time. The staff seemed to know most of the customers that arrived during our visit. We ordered one platter to share with a second hot dog. The platter comes with a dog, fries (we substituted onion rings), and a beverage. They are famous for their footlongs, but neither of us was quite that hungry. One to the dogs. We prefer onion rings to fries, and these did not disappoint. They were hot and tasty right out of the gate. The dogs were prepared the way we wanted. The chili was exceptionally good on these two pups. Now, this is not a fancy place. You should probably not be looking for a fancy place when visiting a hot dog stand. They first opened in 1980 and are still in business forty plus years later. This place was clean, the food was good, and the price was reasonable. We would eat here again"

"Recommended by a friend, I decided to check out this restaurant for lunch and dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a cozy BBQ joint with a great selection, and everything is incredibly tasty. The portions are quite generous, ensuring you truly get your money's worth. Although their variety of sauces is limited, the ones they do have are excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive, always ready to help or refill your drinks. As someone who follows a gluten-free diet, I found several options on the menu that worked perfectly for me. One thing to keep in mind is that they only accept cash or checks—not credit or debit cards—but there is an ATM on-site if you happen to arrive without the right payment method. Overall, it's definitely a place worth trying for fantastic BBQ!"

"First time visiting and it was EXCEPTIONAL!!!!! The small atmosphere was terrific. The Craft beer selection was great as well. Service was amazing with all of the servers having a bubbly personality and very helpful with recommendations due to it being the first time there. The food was great! We started with the Brussel Sprout appetizers that were delicious. I had the Pork Chop with apples and I think that was the best pork chops that I have ever had. My wife got the Ribeye with the blue cheese encrusted on it and I sampled it and it great as well. Most definitely will be back to try other items on the menu. Job well done Chef and staff!"

"On April 2, 2022, we tried a couple of new dishes. I had the stuffed shells, which were fantastic, with rich ricotta cheese and marinara sauce, and I also enjoyed a salad with balsamic dressing. My wife ordered cheese ravioli, and she found them delightful. This place never disappoints! On April 14, 2023, I wanted to update my review for fairness. We dined in this time and were seated right away, as the restaurant wasn’t very busy. We lingered for a while, even considering leaving because no one came to take our order. Just as we were about to go, the owner's wife came by and took our order. After that, the service sped up. We ordered some side salads and a white cheese pizza with spinach, which was delicious! However, our drinks were never refilled. The restaurant industry has certainly been challenged post-pandemic, and we understand the difficulties they’re facing. Given the circumstances, we’ll likely stick to takeout in the future. But as I said before, the food here never disappoints!"

"My husband and I used to be big fans of this restaurant, but our recent visit left us disappointed. The atmosphere was dreadful. The waitstaff seemed unhappy; our waitress spoke only the bare minimum and was quite unfriendly. We noticed that the wait for our order to be taken and delivered was excessive, especially since there were only about five tables occupied at the time. After finishing our bread, we neatly stacked our plates, hoping someone would clear them, but they were left untouched until my husband finally had to ask for them to be taken away. We didn’t receive a single "thank you" or any friendly gestures from the staff, except for the man at the register, where my husband decided to pay rather than wait any longer. We’re not hard to please; we simply expect good service and a positive attitude. It’s obvious when someone comes to work with a negative demeanor, and it can ruin the dining experience for customers. We’re truly disappointed to see how things have changed."

"I visited Ruby Tuesday's and had a wonderful experience. My steak was cooked exactly how I requested, and the shrimp was fantastic. While we were at our table, three different staff members came by to check if we had everything we needed and how our food was. They truly made us feel like individuals by focusing on us during our conversations, without worrying about the other diners. The only downside was the prices, which were a bit on the high side, but overall, it was definitely worth it."

"The real challenge was dealing with his three-year-old daughter, who screamed at the top of her lungs while the father did nothing to correct her behavior. She was also allowed to run freely around the restaurant, contributing to the chaos. The woman we assumed was the manager took no action to address the situation. It appeared that several other patrons were not there to eat but were simply socializing with the man and his children. This place has unfortunately turned into a sort of local daycare or hangout spot. It's a shame because the food was quite good, but the lack of effective management has significantly reduced the chances of attracting paying customers in the future."
