"The owner is genuine and transparent, clearly passionate about creating joy and happiness for the community through his restaurant. We sampled some items from the menu, but most of what we tried was a la carte. We began with the Yellowtail Delight (a la carte), which featured spicy yellowtail wrapped in torched yellowtail and topped with avocado, kani salad, and ginger. The bite was incredibly tender and melted in your mouth. Combined with the creamy avocado, the textures worked together perfectly, enhanced by a satisfying crunch from the pickled ginger. The plating was stunning; it honestly surpassed many modern Japanese restaurants we’ve visited in NYC.
The monkfish with live scallops (a la carte) was exceptional, served in ponzu sauce. The monkfish liver was incredibly fresh, while the lightly torched live scallops transformed this dish into a culinary masterpiece. The Japanese pizza on the menu is a unique take—not the typical version smothered in spicy mayo with a chunk of spiced tuna or salmon. They put immense effort into crafting this pizza, layering eel, avocado, crab, and cream cheese inside a crispy roti. The presentation was beautiful, and you could really appreciate the care put into this seemingly simple yet beautifully crafted dish.
The king crab tartare, another a la carte option, was breathtaking! The assembly was so skillfully done, creating a stunning shape that supported the real king crab chunks (not imitation). The highlight of the evening was the TRIPLE BEAST (a la carte)—a must-try! Imagine a solid morsel turning into liquid bliss in seconds! This toast is topped with wagyu, toro, uni, caviar, and gold. It was an unbelievable bite, with the Santa Barbara uni being exceptionally creamy and fresh. The combination of toro and wagyu was succulent and meltingly rich—truly a luxurious experience.
We also enjoyed the Broadway Roll (a la carte), which featured a generous serving of avocado and king crab with very little rice, all topped with spicy tuna that was seared to perfection! I must admit, I’ve never been to a sushi restaurant that serves real king crab meat. They are refreshingly honest and authentic in their offerings.
We concluded our meal with their sashimi platter. Each piece was thick and hearty, with generous portions and high quality. The yellowtail melted in my mouth, and their tuna was the best quality I’ve had in ages—extremely fresh and not fishy at all! The white tuna was equally soft and delightful, and we loved how fresh everything tasted. The salmon was delicious, and the sea bass was fantastic as well! This sashimi platter is ideal for sharing with friends and family, offering a little taste of everything."
