"When she finally came over, her attitude was far from friendly. She brusquely grabbed a bag, and I did my best to stay calm and patient while placing my order. Our exchange was awkwardly silent, with me simply stating what I wanted. When I requested a pound of chocolate-covered strawberries for $20, she gave me a puzzled look, despite a large sign advertising them right in front of us. There was still no response from her—just unwelcoming glances and the sound of her putting on plastic gloves.
When we finally reached the counter, I ordered just under $50 worth of items. To my surprise, she asked if I wanted a bag, even though she had provided bags to all the customers before me. I signed the e-receipt, and before we could even finish the transaction, she hurried off to assist the group behind me, leaving me in the lurch. I didn’t receive a receipt, a bag, or even a simple "thank you" or "goodbye." It was one of the most bizarre and rude interactions I’ve ever experienced, and I couldn’t shake off the feeling.
As I headed toward the door, I opened it for another incoming customer, but she didn’t even acknowledge my gesture with a "thank you." There was a complete absence of smiles or warmth. I had hoped for a day filled with kindness, and I wish more people would embrace that attitude."
