"I had made reservations a week in advance for my wedding anniversary. We were seated immediately in a noisy area where we could hear conversations from other customers and employees throughout our entire meal. Despite having three different servers attending to us, they were unable to bring us bread. I asked multiple times to different people, but our bread only arrived after we had finished eating, and it was cold. We felt ignored and invisible during our meal. This used to be our go-to restaurant for weekends, but we left feeling extremely disappointed. We will not be returning."

"I feel terrible because I never post bad reviews but this warranted one. My husband and I were hoping to go on a nice date night but the restaurant we were hoping to go to had an hour wait. We saw Andrews was up the street and had decent reviews so we decided to head over. The first clue should’ve been how dead it was but we thought maybe it was a hidden gem. Far from it. As someone with a severe gluten allergy I was happy to see there was a key stating there was GF options but to my surprise none of the items were marked as gluten free. I asked our server who said she wasn’t sure but she did check on what would be an option in the end. The food came out and was honestly terrible. My husband said his dish tasted canned and mine tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. The steak I ordered medium was severely overdone and gray. Not sure why it’s labeled as Market Price when they’re definitely not fresh. The whipped potatoes were sitting in a puddle of something and the plain asparagus were probably the best thing on the plate. They also charge extra for using a credit card instead of cash which doesn’t seem to make sense since the prices are extremely high (both dishes were just shy of $30). Between the overpriced dishes, poor taste, and mediocre service we couldn’t get out fast enough and definitely wouldn’t recommend. It really ruined our night as we had high hopes. We literally feel robbed because of how much money it cost and how bad it was."

"We went to this restaurant on NYE excited by the menu. We were extremely disappointed by the inedible, greasy and flavorless vegetables we ordered to start and the very oily salad. The drinks (margaritas) were undrinkable as well. Our waitress was very kind and apologetic as it seemed she was doing the job of at least 4 other people. Cleaning, bussing tables, sweeping the floors, bartending, hosting and more. She was quite literally running from one table to another with little to no help. The food was some of the worst my family has ever eaten, we would have gotten up to leave but we felt so badly for our waitress (who already had at least 2 other tables walk-out on her). At the end when paying the check we asked about the chef and she said there was someone filling in that night, not sure if this was a one-off staffing issue or something bigger. I would unfortunately warn everyone not to eat at this establishment."

"Thank you TripAdvisor reviewers for recommending The Virginian! After a very long drive to Charlottesville, we were very hungry and we wanted to try a place that the UVA students go to. Eliza was our server and she was fantastic. For appetizers, my daughter had the famous mac n cheese (I tried some) and it was great. I had the potato soup and it was creamy and filling. For entrees, my husband had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. He loved it. My daughter had the pimento grilled cheese and I had a veggie wrap. Both were great and came with perfectly cooked and seasoned french fries. For dessert we had root beer floats with the commemorative glasses as souvenirs. I would definitely go back to The Virginian in a heartbeat."

"I was called by Tom George to let me know that they were not going to be serving brunch during the summer months, only dinner. The hostess was very nice and asked me to reschedule for dinner which I did. The hostess also offered my party a round of drinks for the inconvenience. So I arrived at the restaurant at 6 pm on Sunday as I scheduled to celebrate Father's Day with my family and the restaurant was closed. We were very surprised and disappointed. The restaurant did not call the next day and I decided I will not try to eat there again. So on Sunday I went to LA Chapter at the Ace Hotel where we had a lovely dinner which I knew I would because I have been there before.I do not know whose responsibility it is on Open Table to be sure the information about a restaurant is up to date and accurate, but nothing like this has ever happened to me at any restaurant before."

"For our main courses, I opted for the lasagna while my partner chose the carbonara. Both dishes were simply outstanding, made with evident care and attention to detail. The bread served was phenomenal, and the Parmesan cheese they use is wonderfully fresh. Unfortunately, we were so eager to dig in that we forgot to take any pictures! Additionally, we both really enjoyed their white sangria, and I discovered that happy hour lasts all day on Mondays—definitely a bonus! Our server, Jenny, was fantastic. She welcomed us warmly and provided excellent customer service. Even though it was our first time dining here, she took the time to explain the menu and share her personal favorites, which made our experience even better. In conclusion, if you’re looking for a great Italian restaurant to enjoy with your date or loved one, Anthony's Thornton Park is the place to be. I will certainly be returning! Cheers!"

"We dined at this restaurant for the first time for Father's Day. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It felt upscale in decor and atmosphere and the full-bar area looked like a place I'd like to return to. Service was very good also. Everyone was impressed with their meals and we had an enjoyable time. Would definitely return."

"The pizza was not even edible and exorbitantly priced for such disgusting pizza. My children, thorough pizza lovers, would not even eat the kids cheese pizza due to poor flavoring. My 3 year old son even asked to sprinkle some salt on his to try to salvage it, but aborted because nothing was helping. The Margherita pizza barely had anything on it. Essentially just crust with a few leaves on it. The crust was altogether flavorless in an offensive way. I?m not sure if they missed an ingredient since other reviewers raved about the crust. It had a good texture, but awful taste. The cheese lovers pizza was maybe a 2/5 stars, slightly better than the others, but still the crust was awful and there were random bites that tasted like I put a garlic clove in my mouth. $50 for 2.5 pizzas. What a waste and ruined dinner."

"I've had ok experiences in the past, but service is definitely not what it used to be. I was extremely disappointed with the employee that was working at the counter on December 29th 2021 at 5:50pm We ordered 2 beers and 2 plates of food, we both went up to the counter together and were holding separate menus but decided to pay together. When the food arrived we discovered she only charged us up for only one plate.... She did not apologize or offer to make it right. We were on a time crunch and decided to just leave at that point since we had already waited 30 minutes for our food and also noticed take out orders seem to take priority over waiting customers. She also asked for vaccination cards in a condescending way and did not very ID'S to ensure it was our Vaccinatio cards which makes the entire thing useless and just a feel good tactic... Anyone can just show anyone else's documents. We appreciate the enhanced safety, but not the incompetence."
