"Thank you TripAdvisor reviewers for recommending The Virginian! After a very long drive to Charlottesville, we were very hungry and we wanted to try a place that the UVA students go to. Eliza was our server and she was fantastic. For appetizers, my daughter had the famous mac n cheese (I tried some) and it was great. I had the potato soup and it was creamy and filling. For entrees, my husband had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. He loved it. My daughter had the pimento grilled cheese and I had a veggie wrap. Both were great and came with perfectly cooked and seasoned french fries. For dessert we had root beer floats with the commemorative glasses as souvenirs. I would definitely go back to The Virginian in a heartbeat."

Cool long time place at the Corner across from UVA...food was good..Draft Beer Selection was lacking..but no biggie. They have Outdoor Seating..great location. Would visit again when I'm in Charlottesville.

great food. worst atmosphere. it is a very small place. the staff is extremely loud to speak with friends at the bar who do not eat or drink, only to be extremely loud. I'm a bartender I couldn't even annoy. I notice that the businessmen have disappeared to dinner.

Waitress (not ours) has runny nose and cough. Not once did I see her use sanitizer between wiping her nose on her sleeve, seating people, running the computer order system, filling water glasses, waiting tables. It was so disgusting!Food was fine but lost interest observing this ! View menu

I ordered pasta that came with a side of pita brot. Once I got the brot I called and spoke to someone, they assured me that they credited and apologised my card for the meal. I never got the credit. my call to her was to make sure that she checked her brote for mold. I had great hopes that they would do it right. I was wrong.

The restaurant's atmosphere is now much cleaner than I remembered from years ago. The general manager, Ashley, was working behind the bar and was very friendly. The dining room was bustling with happy customers and cheerful staff. It was obvious that the employees truly enjoyed their work, which enhanced everyone's overall experience!

Our friends brought us to UVA for a tour and suggested we have lunch at this restaurant. We were very impressed with everything! The service, the food, and the drinks were all amazing. The portion sizes were generous for the price, we couldn't even finish all of our food! The sweet potato fries were delicious and I especially loved the chipotle chicken wrap. to a time it is difficult to find great customer service, I must send a scream to ashley! it was great on a busy Saturday afternoon. she worked at the bar and even when she prepared the drinks for all guests, our service was great when we sat at the bar. our hamburger, käsesteak and blt were amazing. I even had to try out the Irish mülleimer, which the UVA students highly recommend. thanks ashley for a great experience and we will be back next time through the opposite.

Eating was too good. waitress was friendly and attentive. the ribeye was market price at $20 in the night we went and was okay. the potatoes were very good. the chicken philly was good. the fries are spiced, among them the on the children's menu. Children's menu offers have been offered with three. the regular order had four. that is a historical restaurant. the cleanliness of the toilet room was sub par. large parties over 6 will probably have to be divided among tables.
