"This most recent visit was my fourth or fifth time there, and it happened to be on Father's Day. My dad loves their elk burgers even more than I do, so we chose this restaurant for our Father's Day lunch, even though we drive 45 minutes each way to get here.
We ordered drinks right away and placed our orders shortly afterward, choosing two appetizers and three burgers with fries. We requested for the appetizers to be served before the burgers, and the waitress acknowledged our request. However, about 30 minutes into the wait, my wife checked in with the waitress about our food, only to have her ask if we had ordered yet.
After another 45 minutes, my burger finally arrived, but there were still no appetizers in sight. The waitress explained that they only had one cook, which seemed to explain the delay. However, there were fewer than ten people in the restaurant when we placed our order. We never received any updates about the delay or an apology, and the waitress became awkward and standoffish after we inquired about the situation.
While I was waiting to ask for a to-go box for my dad and the check, she, along with what I assumed was the manager, walked by several times without acknowledging us. To top it off, in the hour and a half we were there, we never received the water we requested.
I genuinely want to continue supporting this restaurant, but there needs to be improvement with the staff—and I’m not just referring to the lack of staff. The quality of the food and the atmosphere was unfortunately overshadowed by poor service and a lack of warmth."
