"This is the best fine dining in Waco without a doubt. The pear martini is amazing, ask for it spicy. The steak was really good, not flawless though it had a bit too much char and not enough salt but it was tender and topped with delicious seafood.. I should clarify that I am extremely picky about meat quality so I have a very high bar. The tomato blue cheese appetizer was the best thing I've eaten in the last month and I'm not typically a big fan of blue cheese. I did not like the flaming cheese thing it was a bit funky although pretty to watch it lit on fire. Scallops and shrimp were cooked very nicely, no complaints. The stuffed portabella mushroom sounded good but was difficult to cut and wasn't that crazy about the filling which was similar to a lasagna. Our server, who I think was also the bartender, was extremely nice and talented.. she really couldn't have been any better I don't think. I can't wait to go back and try some different dishes but you can bet i'll be ordering that blue cheese tomato appetizer again (not on the menu)"

"First time in Orlando on vacation and this was definitely an amazing spot to go for dinner. Even at a steak house, I was able to enjoy options for my self when I only eat chicken fish. Our server Raven did a fantastic job and definitely went all out and never missed a beat. They even had Patsy sing for a birthday and a surprise dessert. THANK YOU"

"The food was excellent, and our server was good. Food coming from the kitchen (including desserts, which were already baked) was slow, especially considering it wasn't busy, took a while. I don't know if the kitchen wasn't staffed as well as the floor was, but it was a bit surprising given that the dining area was half full or less. I've grown accustomed to this in Florida, but my family members who are local seemed quite surprised with this. When I'm out for a leisurely dinner, I'm okay with it. For those who don't dine out often, word of mouth could prove detrimental in the long run."

"Can’t say enough about our dining experience. Was a reunion of 4 couples school friends plus significant others. First off, the place is farmhouse gorgeous. Beautifully restored. Started at the bar where most of us got their specialty drinks, which were delicious and quite strong. Also an order of cheese curds that we all thought were excellent perfectly gooey with a very light, tempura like batter. Super friendly bartenders. Had dinner upstairs and while it was initially cold, especially by the window it is a stone building , they brought up a heater which warmed things up nicely. Many had the prime rib special, which they seemed to enjoy. I had the walleye, which was fine. The breading was crispy and the fish was moist and tender, but it was not particularly flavorful. My boyfriend had the cod. I never think to order cod as it doesn’t itself have flavor, but this cod was in the most delicious butter sauce with mussels. It was divine and because he had a flight out the next day, I got all the leftovers to myself!! We were too full for dessert, but two of us shared a peanut butter chocolate martini, made with peanut butter whisky ?! which we passed around and which was divine. I’ve never had anything like it. It starts off tasting like a regular chocolate martini but then finishes with the peanut butter flavor. Spectacular. I wish I remembered our servers name, but she was so personable and attentive. Separate checks was not a problem. I would highly recommend this place for a gathering for friends or family or even a cozy dinner for two. Will be back when in town."

"Came to the best restaurant in Steamboat for our wedding anniversary. We had planned on sitting outside, but an hour before our reservation, the skies opened up and rained like hell. Called Jenny and she switched our table to indoors. Ruby was our waitress, and as usual, she was the best making wonderful suggestions for appetizers and wine. We ordered the baked salt fish of the day, and I still think it’s the best I’ve ever had. At the end of the meal we declined dessert, but they made for us to go so sweet of them! I think Periodic Table is only open until the of this month go before they close for mud season. I’ll definitely be back before the close. I love this place!"

"Yesterday's service was terrible! We traveled two hours specifically to visit this restaurant as part of our daily plans. I had visited the restaurant about four years ago and had a good time. When we arrived, we ordered kids' meals for our children and went to the arcade area to play. Unfortunately, many of the games were not functioning properly, so we returned to our table for our food. We received appetizers and pizza. When we asked the waitress why the kids' meals were taking so long, she told us that the meat was bad but it was being fixed and would be safe to eat. The pizza tasted terrible, with a fermented marinara flavor, so we sent it back. Within minutes, the owner approached us and insisted that there was nothing wrong with the pizza. After the fourth time she came to our table, we asked her to leave us alone as we were trying to enjoy our meal. She became upset and threatened to call the police. We offered to take our food to go and were escorted out of the restaurant. We have never experienced such terrible service before. Three out of the six adults in our group are business owners and we were shocked at the situation. This restaurant is definitely not suitable for children. Our two and seven year olds were scared and crying. We will not be returning."

"Last weekend, my family visited for my mother's memorial service. My ex-husband booked a room at the Holiday Inn nearby and decided to check out the bar with his scooter. He was on a FaceTime call with a close friend when he entered and approached the bar. Despite trying to signal the bartender for help, my ex-husband said the music was so loud that he had to whisper. When the bartender finally came over, my ex-husband politely explained, "Sorry for the whistle, it was just really loud, and I didn't know how to get your attention." To my shock, the bartender responded by asking him to leave. My ex-husband is Black, and I find this behavior appalling. This review won't be the last you hear from me about this incident."

"This is not a venue for service at all and amenities are limited so beware before you consider this hotel. The good: Bedrooms Location to the riverfront, shopping and Canal Street Casino (if that’s what you want) The bad Service Housekeeping (non existent) Staff attitudes Lack of amenities (Note: there is no pool) The actual bedrooms are good. Large, spacious and very comfortable. I slept great and enjoyed the view. But, and here’s the but, a hotel is about experience, location and amenities. With the exception of one restaurant (where a queue will gather in bad weather), fitness centre and business facilities, bars and eateries are in the the adjacent Fulton Street and not in the hotel building. The upside is you feel in a world within a world. The downside is when it is raining you get wet going anywhere and that is soaked to the skin. The casino is accessed across a short outside walk way and via escalators and a below ground level passage, carpeted and part of the complex. As with all hotels (and who knows why other than to make money) you will be charged a resort fee of $25 per night which pays for “a range of facilities” apparently business centre, fitness centre, wifi and, interestingly, housekeeping things one would expect within the room rate and most of limited use to visiting tourists. And here’s the thing, despite being part of the additional charge housekeeping is not automatic and has to be requested the day before!! But beware, even when you book it they don’t show up. This appears to be a regular occurrence with my daily complaint one of many. Indeed in trying to get housekeeping over a 3 day period I was passed between different people and departments none of whom resolved my issue, all with deference in their manner and my room still not attended to after a request some two days earlier. When they did, the service is deplorable (see photos). So bear in mind you are paying for it but don’t have any expectations. Breakfast is served in Ruth Chris’s Steakhouse but service is utterly shambolic and in the end I left after waiting 40 minutes as my breakfast order never turned up (with the server telling me they had no idea when it would be cooked) despite the place having barely any customers at the time. Not the big American customer service we hear so much about. Walk up Proytas Street and look down any side street to your right and places are aplenty. Hotel staff have a brashness in their manner, with the exception of Ronald who not helped with my bags and remembered me the next day were generally disingenuous. The check in procedure was clearly scripted and closely followed as when I engaged with reception staff in conversation they simply smiled and continued with their pre ordained script, incongruent to what I was saying. The checkout was worse with a grumpy receptionist, devoid of any customer service and an attitude. If you are here to gamble the large casino is very much like Vegas. Style, signage and amenities look the same, having stayed at Harrahs Vegas. The hotel is very near to the outlet shopping, convention centre and the riverside walk. The Queen Creole is nearby. The Natchez further alongside the river front. WW2 museum about 10 minutes away. The bottom end of Canal Street and Canal Place shopping is 5/10 minute walk; Bourbon Street and other attractions 10/20 minute walk. French district 20 minutes. Garden District use the Charles Street Streetcar (a 24 hour ticket is $3 to use on the whole streetcar system). If you have come to experience the real ’Big Easy’, this is definitely not the place for you. If you are looking for a great customer experience this is absolutely not the place for you. Better, more competitively priced and much more authentic hotels with that New Orleans feel are in abundance and nearby in the main areas of the city and who are keen to welcome you. If on the other hand you couldn’t make Vegas, are here to gamble enjoy the big casino and can accept poor customer service you may feel this hotel may well be your ideal venue. Take from this what"

"This is our favorite night place date! Or I don't feel like cooking. Place. Or I could have a drink. Place. They always leave the way to feel like family. The food is great! On the rare occasion it is not for any reason, they make sure they do it right. It's a bit of a drive for us, but it was always worth it! Except we showed up on Tuesday. A good fact to keep in mind... they are closed on Monday and Tuesday."

"The food, beverages and service were excellent, and our table in the back looked into the garden...too bad it was a little chilly to dine outside. The only drawback was the noise level as there does not appear to be any soft surfaces to reduce the noise. We were seated next to a table of 6 or 7 and they were having lively conversation with lots of laughs. Nice folks but we were not unhappy when they finished. Reina was a good value and we'll go again when we come back to Frederic."

"Amazing salsa !! Great service and a fun environment !!! But they need better cooks with more than one style of cooking who know how NOT to overcook all the meat they offer. ALL dishes taste very similar! All with burnt burn marks on "whatever" meat, mixed with similar spices and all well done to finish cooking. The burned cremation, like a fajitas, but for every dish? This is the second time that I had to come here with the same results ... I refuse the next time I am invited ... Maybe have a drink because the mood is good and fun ... she just need better cooks ..."

"Truly fine food served in a very professional manner at an historic setting. A walk through the grounds and seeing the historical pictures are a must. When we entered the Garden Patio there was a smoke from a decorative fire that was taken care of when we commented as we were seated. The food served was perfectly created and each of four different requests were thoroughly enjoyed."

"The prime rib here is absolutely the best I've ever had. The crispy green beans are so delicious that my teenage daughter asked me to bring her an order home. (What kid actually requests vegetables?!). There truly isn't a bad meal at LA Cafe. The twice-baked potatoes are unique and clearly made with care—just delicious! The Tomato Caprese is generously portioned, perfect for sharing. Plus, they offer fantastic desserts and flavored coffees. I could rave about this place for days. It's a farm-to-table restaurant with locally sourced ingredients—a hidden gem in the Hoosier state. Wishing this business continued growth and success!"

"My family and I was served by a young man named Adrian. Adrian knew four things very well: (1) What substitutions were possible, (2) How to individually make sure each of us were well taken care of, (3) the sources and differences in the menu items (where the food was purchased and differences in those types of foods, and (4) enjoyed his work. Each of these traits matter..as a business consultant who teaches these things..and others...I know. The food was very good, but without the exceptional service it would just be another good restaurant to us. However, I believe when customer service is THAT good it should be rewarded. I asked to speak with his manager, Jacob, and explained how well we enjoyed the service."

"Excellent experience. This place really nails the atmosphere, the outside is unassuming but when you walk inside you are transformed into a different vibe. The food is great. They serve free garlic bread which has a detectable amount of pepper which is delicious and unique. The meatballs are massive and probably enough for 2 people. The turtle soup has very generous portions of turtle meat. The seafood is really what shines on this menu. You can not go wrong with any of the trout or catfish dishes. All of the portions are extremely generous. Overall a great experience."

"Verry nice open bar area and a separate area to sit if you just want food away from the bar. Verry clean and the food was AMAZING! I got the breaded butterfly shrimp which I thought would be your normal pre-breaded type that most restaurants have. Nope! It's hand breaded and delicious. Kid-friendliness: Good amount of space for kids or a small get together. Parking: Big parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Big parking lot that's not marked park wherever"

"Rude service. Bad food. My burger was dry. I am gluten free and I was assured that my burger had no gluten on it, but the server was not knowledgeable and was rude as I asked questions and served it to me with gluten. I have been sick for almost a week now because of it. It’s crowded, the music is loud, and the staff seems like they don’t want to be there. Don’t go, especially if you have allergies of any sort. Dietary restrictions: Servers are not knowledgeable and will not ask the kitchen. They gave their best guesses, which were wrong. I am sick and upset that it wasn’t even worth it to get sick over because it was gross. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"First of all, our server, Tiffany, was outstanding. She was informative and attentive but did not crowd us. The wine list was acceptable, and the best part is that they do not over mark-up heir wines. We had a Sonoma Chardonnay for $30 that retails for $20. It nicely matched the pasta dishes we had. The menu is large and diverse, but not unmanageable. We each had a different pasta dish. One was a light cream sauce that was very tasty. The drawback was that the noodles were a little over cooked. The second pasta dish was the shrimp pesto. Very tasty and not salty. Side salads were fresh, except there was some wilted lettuce. The dressings were homemade: very tasty and light. We ordered ala carte garlic mashed potatoes just to try them. They were fantastic. Overall, reasonably priced, excellent taste and a great experience. We will defininately return."
