"First up, the Cheesy Garlic Herb Focaccia: this dish truly shines thanks to the generous layer of gooey melted cheese that covers each slice. The savory richness pairs beautifully with the fragrant garlic and fresh herbs. My top picks among their pizzas are the Chicken Pesto and the Jalapeno Pineapple. The Chicken Pesto pizza stands out with its vibrant, herby pesto sauce that complements the tender chicken perfectly. On the other hand, the Jalapeno Pineapple pizza is a revelation. The pairing is unexpected yet delightful; the jalapenos provide a spicy kick, while the pineapple adds a juicy sweetness that's simply delicious. To top it all off, their selection of wines and cocktails enhances the dining experience beautifully. My only complaint is that it can get quite loud inside the restaurant, making it difficult to have a conversation."

"Stopped by this awesome homey restaurant in a huge car rest stop near Exit 34 of CA 60 E Pomona Freeway and IT WAS FANTASTIC. I got a full rest refueled myself with yummy Italian dishes, while my car was parked in a tree shaded spot which there are many! This place serves really nice Italian cuisine with European pub vibes atmosphere inside (I LOVE THIS FEELING SINCE WALKING IN OMG) Lovely music, partitioned seatings, dim lighting, great food smell, wine shelf, vintage restroom, etc.. Here are the cheat sheet if you are blank of what to order: ? starter cheesy garlic bread: perfect seasoning, crispy thin crust ? main low cal salmon: juicy tender salmon with nicely grilled veggies chicken masala: my favorite pasta OMG lasagna: soft properly cooked cheesy ? side (comes with main) Julie's wedding soup: delicious soup with a lot of ingredients salad (ranch, Italian dressing): fresh mix of your favorites ? drink Italian soda: carbonated creamy very yummm The staff here are all really nice and made me feel at home. This is a very impressive unique feeling to experience at a restaurant.. I'm sure you'll be blessed with food and love here!!"

"The staff was very caring and nice. Everyone looked presentable while being prompt with food delivery. They were very caring for the lunch crowd. I had the pleasure of visiting this location finally after going to the Sherwood location for most of my childhood. The choice of building and interior design is very daunting and doesn't offer the brand justice. When I entered the location for the first time it felt like I was visiting a penitentiary. The bars covering the windows aren't very inviting therefore I hope to see a future where the location gets a new Venue as soon as possible. I do plan on returning with my family soon! Thank you for the service"

"After a hike in the area, my group decided to stop by Tippy Canoes for a meal. We were greeted promptly and chose to sit on the patio. I ordered the Kickin Chicken sandwich with fries, and it was absolutely delicious! The lettuce, peppers, and tomatoes were fresh, and the flavors blended perfectly, satisfying my cravings. I was very happy with my meal. However, the service could use some improvement; it was a bit slow, and the staff weren't very friendly. Despite this, it didn't greatly affect my overall experience. I would definitely visit again!"

"I know, sounds hard to believe, but truly they serve the worst pizza imaginable. Think of an apple pie, with the apple sauce replaced with a thick layer of artificial cheese. Topping will be the 4th layer. Cookie Dow, followed by a thin layer of mediocre tomato sauce, followed by a thick layer of disgusting cheese, followed by a layer of toppings.. just try a different place, this ain’t Italian pizza by no means."

"Friendly Staff, although it may seem as though they are a little under/short staffed times; they def make up for any effects by being very friendly personable are as quick as can be possible. The pizzas are great- which is a breath of fresh air nowadays since so many diff pizza places suddenly keep changing recipes /or ingredients or they just aren’t all that great to begin w/ anymore! Also it should be noted that they’ve NEVER given us a pizza that’s undercooked( i.e- too soft/messy falls apart, etc. OR even a little too cooked( i.e- blackened, crispy, or in anyway hard or burnt, etc. . Overall extremely satisfied that’s saying alot since my fiancé I have 2 daughters; so we’re a family of 4- who ALL like /or ‘LOVE’ totally diff things it’s very hard to meet in the middle compromise as all 4 of us tastes are SO far apart- BUT we all enjoy the pizzas/appetizers/etc. from there w/ no complaints all. over the past 6 months we have eaten here least 2x’s a month during that, since we do takeout 2’s every month that’s where we all chose to ended up going every time! They don’t disappoint! Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"

"Been wanting to go here for the longest but finally got around to it and happy we did! First time visiting, we visited on a Tues around 6. Was crowded but we were greeted upon entering and we were directed to pick our own seats. We were attended to pretty fast. The place has a grandmas house vibe, not my vibe but the food was delicious, service was fast and the price was reasonable, less than 40 without tip. They don't have military discount. I got the spaghetti and chicken parm ... the spaghetti was sooo good! My chicken parm was slightly overcooked but the flavor and seasoning of the chicken peppers was good. I also had a slice of bread that was good too. I tasted my husband's calzone, he loved it and it was huge, I liked the bread and cheese when you got closer to finishing a slice but all the flavors stuffed inside didn't do it for me, but then again I'm not a big fan of ham unless it's honey baked but yeah. The portion sizes were also good. The tea wasn't sweet enough for me, the flavor of the tea was a bit too prevalent. They also have a decent amount of parking, I'd probably recommend parking in back if it's raining though (depending on how you feel about your car mid) because I'm sure that dirt lot gets muddy but overall I would recommend and I will be back."

"Great Pizza, wings, and friendly service! My family and I were visiting from Texas, but we are originally from Chicago and wanted some good quality Pizza. We ordered 2 Jumbo and 1 Medium Pizza's, with 20 Medium wings to go. I was a little nervous when the young lady over the phone stated that our order would be ready in 15-20 mins. When we picked up our food to take back to the hotel, everything was fresh, and finger licking good! Im glad I found this place, plan to come back on our next visit when in town visiting family. Best pizza in the St. Louis/ Fairview Heights area!"

"Great company, friendly service and good food. What's not to like?! The three of us had not been to Patxi's in several years so we were hoping they still serve up a good meal. The restaurant had opened at 11:30 and we walked in after watching some entertainment going on in front of the Bankhead. Other than a large party coming in for a celebration, the place was not crowded for a Saturday afternoon. The hostess greeted us and asked if we would like to sit at a tall table or a booth. We chose a booth which we found to be quite spacious. Menus and little glasses of water were brought to us promptly. Our server was gracious and sweet and he explained the pizza lunch combos. We ordered two lunch specials which consisted of a slice of pizza and choice of salad and our other friend ordered the burrata caprese sandwich (burrata, tomato, basil pesto, red onion on herb focaccia). I mentioned that there used to be an arugula salad that I still remember to this day, but I noticed it was no longer offered. Our server said they could still make it for us even though it is no longer on the menu. Sweet! My friend and I ordered the deep dish spinach and mushroom slice along with the arugula salad. The salads arrived quickly and it was a good-sized, beautiful salad with grated cheese on top. The arugula was impressively fresh! The server offered freshly ground pepper which was the perfect addition. The table behind us had ordered side Caesar salads and they looked delicious too. We enjoyed our meals and had no leftovers! Should you need a party room, they have a separate dining area next to the main dining room where the large group was celebrating their party. It was private with lots of windows to the outside. Street parking is tight especially on weekends but there is a large parking structure on the north side of First Street on Railroad. I always park on or near McLeod Street."

"The ambiance may not be the highlight, but the food and prices certainly are. The shrimp appetizer is excellent—better than what you'd find at many upscale restaurants. You can't beat a great burger for just $5. The fryers are well-maintained, and the salads are fantastic. I haven’t tried everything on the menu yet, but I'm looking forward to it!"

"While the pizza here was fabulous, the service was incredibly poor the night we went. We sat for over 25 minutes waiting for a server to come to our table despite telling three different employees that we had not been served yet. Another server finally came to help. We started by ordering a beer and were told that our real server would bring us the drinks. Then there seemed to be confusion about who could pour my beer as the server was underage, so another 20 minutes before that arrived. It was a good thing we weren’t in a hurry, as the entire dining experience took over 2 hours! And we didn’t even order an appetizer or dessert! On the positive side, I hope this was an anomaly. The pizza was great. The atmosphere was really nice. And the servers were kind."

"In my experience working at restaurants with kitchens, they typically serve customers until the stated closing time, regardless of whether it's a minute before or just at the designated time. Unfortunately, it seemed that it wasn't just the bartenders who displayed poor hospitality; everyone around us had the same unfriendly vibe. Instead of welcoming us, they looked at us as if we didn't belong there. The women were engaged in their own conversations, while the men appeared to avoid looking in our direction, possibly out of fear of getting into trouble for acknowledging us. We were dressed up for the costume contest, but the atmosphere felt incredibly uninviting. It was shocking to be made to feel unwelcome to such an extent. Who turns customers away? What bartenders would refuse tips? Clearly, these bartenders didn't care, as they didn’t even bother to act friendly, indicating they didn’t need our business. They could have earned a generous tip if they had just shown a little kindness. Instead, we decided to spend our money elsewhere, where the staff was eager to please customers. I can’t help but wonder what kind of training these bartenders have received in hospitality. Having worked in various bars for over 20 years, I never turned away anyone who approached the bar politely, especially if it was their first visit. I certainly wasn’t unkind to anyone who approached me. The demeanor of the bartenders and the other women suggested they might have been a bit jealous, for reasons I can’t fathom. We weren’t there to compete for attention; we just wanted to enjoy ourselves and have a good time. My friends and I have decided that we will never return to this establishment."

"I visited a popular local spot for pizza subs and decided to try their cheeseburger with all the toppings. It was massive, and surprisingly, everything complemented each other perfectly. I would have preferred if they had added more condiments directly onto the sub roll instead of serving them on the side, but they were still tasty on their own."
