"We visited this restaurant on the Fourth of July and were thrilled that it was open! I'm not sure if there have been changes in ownership or staff since our last visit, but this time the food was notably better and incredibly delicious! The service also exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed sweet tea, pulled pork sandwiches, Nashville Hot chicken plates, and chicken and waffles. The portion sizes were generous—very large! The Nashville chicken was juicy and flavorful; I highly recommend it. I ordered a side of crispy onions, which I mistakenly thought would be onion rings, but it turned out to be the crispy onions they use as a garnish. I could only eat about half of them as there was so much. I liked the pickles that came with my meal, although one of my companions thought they tasted a bit like soap. I also had a side of cornbread that was absolutely delicious, especially with some extra butter on it. The plate also came with Texas toast, which was really good. The chicken and waffles were enjoyable—the chicken was fantastic, while the waffles were just okay, but I still finished them! It came with a special spicy bacon syrup that paired perfectly with the dish, although we also got a side of regular syrup. The pulled pork sandwich was scrumptious as well—no complaints there! The service was excellent; the staff was friendly, accommodating, and genuinely checked in on us to see if we needed anything. They frequently offered assistance, asking if we needed extra sauce or anything else, and it never felt overbearing. I appreciated their attentiveness, so don’t hesitate to ask for extra condiments. I also loved the ambiance of the place. The decor was charming, with a smoker out front in the parking lot and string lights hanging above. It really gave off the vibe of a BBQ joint you might find in the South, which is surprising for a place in Henderson, Nevada."

"Visited on November 22.I purchased the 10 wing dinner and my wife had a sandwich on texas garlic bread. My wings were horrible. They were VERY small, shorter than my thumb by a bit...and either over cooked for way way way too long, or had been under a heat lamp for most of the day before being served to me..they just had a little sauce squirted in the bottom of the basket. They were so hard that I could only eat three and that was a struggle.....BEYOND crispy...very HARD!It was a horrible experience. I have eaten here many years ago and it was great...I loved it back then but I moved away and just returned and it is possibly the worst restaurant I've visited since returning. Will NOT EVER eat here again. I paid over $36 for my wife to eat half a sandwich and I..three wings. I didn't fuss and I know the server knew it was bad because she said nothing to us when she brought us the check and starting taking away plates of food barely touched and didn't look us in the eye for the remainder of us being there.Save yourself the frustration and disappointment. Any other restaurant wouldn't let food like that exit the kitchen...it would be tossed in the garbage.Hey Things and Wings....please feel free to reach out to hear just how bad your restaurant and kitchen staff are. "A friend and I were planning to visit Oakland Cemetery (just across Memorial Drive from the café for a scavenger hunt. We opted to meet here beforehand for lunch. We had planned to park in the cemetery's parking lot, but there was some road race which restricted access to the north side of Memorial Drive. Hence, we ended up parking on street a block south and a few blocks over from the café. The market itself has a small lot, but it seemed mostly geared towards market patrons. I *assume* you could park there while you grabbed a meal at the café also. The lot seemed to fill up quickly, though. We met there at around 11:20 a.m. on a Sunday. you enter the market from the side doors (i.e., not those facing Memorial Drive . To your left is the café area. A line forms to order at a counter. There are menus available in a basket for you to peruse while in line. It was at this point that we discovered that breakfast was still in progress. Lunch didn't begin until noon. We opted to do the first zone of our scavenger hunt and return. We got back just after noon. Ordering was quick, though we somehow did not end up with a little metal table tag. One of the entrees arrived fairly quickly but mine seemed to take longer for some reason. They managed to find us even without our table displayed. The staff seemed friendly enough. I had ordered a BLT and a side of fries. The volume of fries was larger than I expected, actually, but they were good. The BLT was fine. I found the bread a bit odd it was not dark but tasted a bit of rye. To me, that wouldn't be the standard first choice for BLT bread, but it wasn't bad. I don't think I underwent a full conversion to being a BLT on rye guy, though. At the end, you bus your table and drop off plastic trays over at a station near the drink machine. Prices were fair. Overall, this is a good option if you aren't looking for a particularly heavy meal (as you might get in some of the other restaurants facing Oakland . I'd consider a follow up visit."

"My family and I wanted to try something different made reservations. We ordered the devil eggs suggested by waiter they were ok... I wouldn't get that again. We also ordered our food at the same time we ordered the appetizers we were starving honestly. We got the appetizers very quickly and our food took almost a hr and half to come out. It was ridiculous our waiter didn't suggest us to order any bread or anything while we waited. Other people came after house and got their food. I'm not sure if the kitchen lost our ticket or what. No one apologized no one said it will be coming we were all being stared at with concern but no one verbally said anything. Finally our food came and it wasn't very hot which was confusing. The only thing hot was my mac and cheese so I'm assuming that's what we were waiting on. The chicken and waffles were all just warm. We had sauces at the table that had no names we aren't sure what they were no one ever explained even after telling our waiter it was our first visit. Btw his name was Randy decent fellow but he didn't seem to really care. I'd like to maybe try it again because the taste was good of the chicken but for the overall cost I'd probably say it wasn't worth all the hassle. Management was walking the floor he even greeted another table but no one gave ownership on why we were waiting. Yea.... I'd definitely won't return to that location."
