"I brought my family to Tavern on the Square for my daughters birthday. We typically go to the Littleton MA restaurant but decided to try the Shrewsbury location. We have gluten allergies in the family so this restaurant is a favorite treat for the family. However, this time the restaurant fell short of our expectations. The food took much too long to come out, and my daughters meal wasn't what she ordered. She decided to eat it anyway so we wouldn't have to wait for another meal. Also, the noise level was super high and the quality of the rest of our meals were not what we typically experience at the Littleton location. I was disappointed, but we made the best of a night out. Sorry Shrewsbury, we won't be back."

"Truly fine food served in a very professional manner at an historic setting. A walk through the grounds and seeing the historical pictures are a must. When we entered the Garden Patio there was a smoke from a decorative fire that was taken care of when we commented as we were seated. The food served was perfectly created and each of four different requests were thoroughly enjoyed."

"We enjoyed our lunch at Tavern on the Square, Lowell very much. We were a party of and none of us had dined here before. The menu is large and has something for everyone! We had excellent service, the food was very good. All Covid requirements were in place and we were comfortable dining inside. The only concern was that some orders were not as hot as they should be on serving. For that reason, I am giving stars to this establishment"

"although they had limited options what they had, was marked clearly vegan. for an appetizer I got the bang bang broccoli and it was INCREDIBLE. really one of the best food I've ever eaten- icant wait to get it back. for my meal I got the impossible burger (with vegan cheese, the bungalow is also vegan- I asked) and it was okay!! just a normal but good burger. the fries were also really delicious. the drinks were also good! got an espresso martini without the milk cream and also had some eastern cedar. This is a good place to go with not vegans, and while the options are limited what they have is delicious food."

"This was my first time at the restaurant. It was for my birthday. Placing a reservation online was very easy and convenient. The moment my friends and I stepped in, to the moment we left, the service was friendly and very efficient. Loved the drink and menu selection. Gluten free and plant based options were a welcomed surprise. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful when trying to choose some menu starters and entrees. Will definitely be returning and recommending to others."

"I was really disappointed in my visit to Tavern in the Square Littleton last night. Our waitress was no where to be found the whole night. We tried to give her the benefit of the doubt in case it was busy… We had a 7pm reservation and didn’t even have an opportunity to order food until almost 9. Meanwhile our waitress was bringing us a lot of alcohol while not even once asking if we were ready to order dinner. I had to ask myself around 9 if we could please order. They clearly had run out of food at that point. My $24 salmon bowl has 4 cubed pieces of salmon. Not even a whole salmon. We also had a dairy allergy at the table. I asked for no sour cream on the nachos and when we got the bill there was an upcharge for plant based cheese that we were never made aware of and never asked for. I felt that the value of the food combined with extremely poor service ruined our night."

"Excellent meal and drinks. Our server was terrific. Only complaint was that we put in for an outdoor dining reservation, and the table we were given was situated near a wall in the patio area. Hostess was going to move us, but another group came in and basically took the table right out from under us. Of course I wasn’t going to make the hostess tell the people to leave and then make more work for them to clean the area again. Perhaps they need to be mindful of when folks enter the restaurant"

"Tavern in the Square has become the go-to date night destination for my boyfriend and me. He has gluten intolerance, and the wide variety of gluten-free options on the menu makes it a great dining experience for us both. The food is delish and beautifully prepared, with great portion sizes. The staff is always attentive, and their frequent diner rewards program keeps me coming back with discounts! Tables are far enough apart that you never feel crowded, even when the restaurant is full. "The kitchen doesn’t follow the waiters notes for the order. Our wait time for nachos was 35 minutes and our dinner came out 3 minutes later. I ordered the tiki cocktail and it was 1/2 full in the tiki cup and the rest was ice, which was a 1/4 below the top of the glass. There were people standing directly behind my guest and wouldn’t leave but kept gabbing away. Then the hostess came over to our 4 seat table and asked if she could take the 2 chairs away, even though they were filled with bags from the outlet shopping. I simply told her no because I didn’t want to put my bags on the dirty floor. Seriously? She found 4 empty chairs at the table behind us. If you want to relax after a day of shopping, don’t go here. If anything, you’ll leave stressed out of your mind"

"I have visited another Tavern in the Square before, so I was excited to try this one for a late night dinner after visiting the Witch's Wood haunted house. We arrived around 10:45 pm and were seated promptly. The restaurant was still busy, which was a good sign, but our server seemed a bit disorganized. She took our order, but forgot various items and sides throughout the night. When she brought our drinks, there was some confusion as she initially placed the wrong drink in front of me. She later brought a cocktail with a different name than what was on the menu, causing further confusion. The food also had errors in sides and cook temperatures on most of the burgers. Despite the mishaps, we decided to finish our meal and leave. The server also forgot the appetizers we ordered with our drinks. Overall, I would not recommend this Tavern based on our service experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20-30 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4 Parking: Plenty of free parking available."

"Parking was an issue as all the slots designated for the restaurant were filled by people from the surrounding office building, but once we got inside everything went smoothly. We all ordered sandwiches and everyone in our party was happy with their meals. Our waitress was friendly and efficient...what more can you ask for? My one suggestion would be to turn down the music. It really isn't necessary to be so loud that people need to raise their voices over it to talk. It is even loud in the parking lot, I assume for the patio."
