"Last night, I tried the Steak and Cheese sub at Rosa's during the Friday Food Critic night. I ordered it loaded with double meat, double cheese, and fries. The sub was really awesome, almost deserving of 5 stars. However, the double meat was a bit much, creating a messy eating experience. The only thing preventing a 5-star rating was the lack of Hoagie Spread at the restaurant, as it is essential for a proper steak and cheese sandwich. The crinkle cut fries were not a favorite, and the quality of the meat was average. Despite this, I would still order it again as it is the best option on this side of Richmond. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and the staff is friendly. Overall, it was a good experience, although not quite reaching a true 5-star steak and cheese standard."

"Four generations!. I had dinner with my parents at the Lotus Garden. I have taken my own kids there all of their lives. Now, I take my grandkids! The Lotus has been there all this time for a reason, the food is great! Egg rolls and barbecued pork are house made and delicious! Best sweet and sour pork and chicken you 've ever had. Not to mention, chow mein, lo mein, fried rice, moo goo gai pan, and Szechwan. Some things they have done the same way forever, the cracker and bun basket anyone? Many items on their American menu are not to be missed either. Best Manhattan 's ever! Best cocktail? I say Rum Cow, but fabulous tropical drinks reign supreme here! Don 't forget to say hey to Jimmy! He was the star of the show there in the 70s (still is ha! , when I was a little high school kid working in the 'coffee shop ', which is now the buffet next door. Hopefully the Lotus Garden will be serving great food for 50 more years! And, to the gentleman who has issues with the decor, the Chinese kitsch is part of it man!!!"

"Sat at the bar and ordered a drink; great selection of bourbons. Only complaint I have was no large format ice cubes, so all in all not very much to complain about. I have a nut allergy to all nuts and nut derivatives which the Bar Tender took very seriously and conveyed to the kitchen. I had a chef reiterate to me the attention to the allergy that the kitchen takes. Definitely reassuring. Tough choices with elk (special), the braised lamb shank or the bourbon pork chop. I went with the pork chop, and if this is not the house signature dish it should be. Outstanding. done to perfection with great accompaniments. Definitely recommend as a must dine at when in Louisville KY."

"I was surprised when they insisted I needed to bring the rice back for a refund, even though they didn't require my card to charge me twice earlier. At that point, I had already thrown the rice away, but they wouldn't process the refund unless I brought the rice in. I offered to send a picture, but that wasn't sufficient for them. Eventually, I had to dig the rice out of the trash and take what I could back to the restaurant. Not only was I dealing with the bug in my food, but I also wasted my time driving back to Oakwood to return the rice. When I got there, they claimed my refund had already been processed, which left me questioning why I had to make the trip in the first place. "So yesterday I came here with my Fiance and a couple of teammates, we were in the area for a softball tournament and randomly heard about this place. I can definitely say that it was the best decision I've ever made with my Buds button, I never have such authentic Italian foods along with a comfortable environment. Our waitress only treated us with generosity. I'd drive the 3 hours to eat here every day if I could! Thank you, Giovanni is for a very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back!!!"

"This restaurant is extremely disorganized! They don't have consistent hours and open and close whenever they feel like it. I've never been able to reach them by phone to ask about their hours. I have no idea who runs this place or what's going on, but it has gone from being an average family restaurant to a real disappointment. There's a lack of updates and maintenance, both inside and out, which is very apparent. There's not much positive to say about this place anymore. I really don’t understand how they’re still in business; perhaps this is why they have such erratic hours. I definitely suggest looking elsewhere for dining options."

"A safe bet for a good dinner. Hunan Garden is one of those restaurants we get takeout from occasionally, where we know what the expect and we always get good food. Their mongolian beef is some of the best I've had in Birmingham. Their shrimp fried rice is tasty with big plump shrimp, not those tiny canned shrimp you get at other restaurants. The Hot and Sour soup isn't the best in Birmingham but it's not BAD either. I think the egg rolls are Jade Mountain frozen ones like I can buy at Sysco because they aren't anything special. They aren't bad, but they look machine made... not fat, too perfectly shaped.. I've had better egg rolls. Still I recommend Hunan to anyone wanting some traditional Chinese food in the Hoover area."

"I ordered two dishes from Uber Eats, and I have to say, the food was truly disappointing. The first item was the chicken and broccoli, which had a bizarre odor and tasted terrible. The curry chicken was just as bad; it seemed like I was only tasting ginger, and the texture of the chicken was off—almost unrecognizable. "Granted, I can be a tough critic, but I have had some incredible dining experiences that keep my expectations high. That said, I was eager to visit Ivy, as it's been on my list to try for a long time. When we arrived for our 10 am seating for brunch, 5 minutes early, they were still setting up. We were not seated until 10 minutes later, and then still needed to wait until all the brunch stations were up and running. The atmosphere was good, plenty of space between tables, and cozy with the fireplace. The stained glass alcove was beautiful. The food was just okay and there was nothing on the buffet that really wow'd me. I will say the orange juice was delicious! The price was fair for a buffet, but I was unimpressed with the selection and left feeling that my overall experience was a little disappointing."

I had chicken in my dish, my son had lamb and our friend had goat. "We went to this restaurant for years and are the way for our Mexican cuisine. There are several Mexican restaurants in the area so that the theme is fairly saturated, but we always chose Mexico restaurant over the others. First, it is always clean and well organized and the prices are very fair for the provided foods. We have always experienced an exceptional customer service from all, including managers, servers and host. They may not be as high as competitors or over the top, but we are here hundreds of times and have never complained about the service. The food is good and they do a great task to update the menu and offer new items. It is not an authentic kitchen, but is enough to offer a good meal. We have a family member with heavy gluten allergies, and this is the only Mexican restaurant where she feels comfortable, and they offer her many opportunities. The bar drinks are definitely short spectacular, but for those looking for a family-friendly atmosphere, Mexico does not really promote alcohol and its bar is always empty. Anyone looking for a bar scene will be disappointed. The terrace is amazing, but inside is comfortable, but a bit boring and not as loud and flamboyant as some of the other restaurants. In the end, in a highly saturated topic, we continue to come here about others because of the consistency and above-average brands in all areas. It's not fantastic at all, but we've never been disappointed."

"We stopped ordering form here a few years ago as the food had become less than good. Tonight we gave the place another chance and ordered through door dash. Describing what we received tonight as food should be considered criminal. This was absolutely the worst meal I have ever been served from a restaurant. We ordered two chef special dishes; orange beef and orange chicken. Both were comprised of rancid grisly cuts of meat and soaked in a thick soup of bright red sauce with nothing else. The pot stickers were thick, clumpy, burnt and had a strong odor of ash. The fried rice was steamed rice with a little soy sauce on it and had certainly never seen a frying pan of any kind. I am completely disgusted by the food we were given and will never order from here again."
