"My husband and I visited the restaurant Arepas in Midvale on a Saturday afternoon around 3. Our overall impression was positive - the restaurant was clean, had nice decor, and fun music playing. The service we received was pretty good, although we were seated in an empty area while the other side of the restaurant was getting all the patrons. Our waiter arrived 5-10 minutes later and was very knowledgeable about the menu, as it was our first time there. I ordered the pabellon arepa, which was a fried corn meal biscuit filled with meat, cheese, and sweet plantains. It was a unique taste combination that I enjoyed, although I wished the filling was more evenly distributed and the shell was tough to eat. My husband chose the fried pork and cheese cachapa, which he liked a lot despite the almost too crispy pork. Overall, we had a good experience and appreciated that almost all of the menu items were gluten free, as I have a gluten intolerance. We look forward to returning in the future."
