"If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. The chicken tenders were overcooked and dry, and the fries were soggy. The marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks tasted more like tomato soup than anything else. The homemade honey mustard sauce was odd and quite unappetizing."

"Passover FeastAs if fated, last summer, I discovered the best care for my illness and the soothing restaurant nearby--the Silver Star Restaurant. When I returned to the Silver Star recently, the manager handed me a printed menu. It said, Happy Passover! Following that, it read, Today 's Special Includes: Cup of Matzoh Ball Soup or Salad, Potato Pancake, Tszimes, Complimentary Glass of Manchewitz Wine and Holiday Special Cake The offer came with three choices of entrees. They were all tempting. With the suggestion from the young waiter Carlos, I settled on broiled salmon. I had my usual seat next to the glass wall overlooking a busy avenue.The historic spacious corner restaurant was quiet and sun filled. Before long, the waiter in black with a pink tie reappeared. He brought me the unexpected, for the sweet wine and colorful salad were only the prelude for the second course. The salmon was for a family! It was several times the size of a regular serving in any restaurant. It was accompanied by two side dishes. And of course, it tasted as it looked. It was fresh, crispy and tender inside. I applauded such delicate touch.Sipping the deep red wine, I was touched by the graciousness of Passover. I felt joy."

"I absolutely adore this charming little spot! It was my first visit, and I was impressed by the friendly staff, delicious food, and cleanliness of the place. It's also minority-owned, which is a bonus. You can actually watch your food being prepared, which adds to the experience. The chicken box I had was the best I've had in ages. "Went here with friend to return to an old eatery we used to frequent. No reason I stopped just with covid didn't come into the city as much. Get their homemade chix soup, you won't regret it, especially if you have a cold. It is a large size and delicious, just like a grandma would make. Just watch for chix bones. They are not the cheapest diner I've eaten at, but the soup makes up for the extra few pennies. The other food is good too and they do not used processed meat. At least the 3 meals, so far, I've had there."

"We had a late lunch and, since the buffet wasn’t available yet, we decided to order from the menu. We both chose the senior specials, which feature smaller portions (though they were still quite generous) and include access to the salad bar. I really enjoyed the thousand island dressing and the bean salad. My husband mentioned that the cucumbers and onions were excellent. I ordered the fried chicken, which was cooked perfectly, along with seasoned red skin potatoes that were fried in chunks instead of boiled—there was enough to feed three people! My husband had the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy, and he found it very delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. We’re definitely willing to make the 30-minute drive to eat here again."

"We enjoyed our meals at this café so much that we dined there twice! The food was perfection. Although the restaurant was never overly crowded when we were there, the dining experience was fantastic and the customer service was exceptional. We tried the burgers and they were hand-made in house, easily the best burgers I have ever had after a long walk. We also stopped in for breakfast on our way back and it was delicious."

"George's family restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way! The creamy rice soup was a delightful surprise, reminiscent of childhood memories. The warm house bread was heavenly. We enjoyed the pepper jack cheeseburger and Reuben sandwich, both of which were delicious. Our waitress, Tiffany, was excellent, attentive and ensured our drinks were always full. The atmosphere was vibrant and peaceful, even being surrounded by a large family party nearby. Even my teenager was impressed with their pepper jack cheeseburger and almost got up to do the yummy food dance! We'll definitely be back!"

"This was our first visit to Trivet. My wife and I were seated by the waitress and ordered two raspberry teas. For our meals, she chose the chicken stable with fries and a salad with ranch dressing, while I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. We also got mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The salad arrived first, but it was warm and the texture was unpleasantly gummy. The ranch dressing packets were also warm. We ended up sending the entire salad back untouched because it was just terrible. Next came the mozzarella sticks, which were decent—the breading was good—but the sauce was awful. It had a pasty consistency and left a terrible aftertaste. Then the main courses arrived. My wife was already concerned after trying the mozzarella stick sauce, and unfortunately, her worries were justified. The sauce with her chicken was just as bad: thick and unpleasant. She only ate her fries and a few bites of the chicken Parmesan. My burger was okay—not great, but decent enough. It was cooked how I asked and, with enough ketchup and mayo, it was acceptable. Despite clearly having issues with the food, we noticed that large portions of our meals went mostly untouched. Nothing was done about it. The staff didn’t acknowledge the problem, and the owner even walked by without saying a word. Needless to say, my family and I will not be returning to Trivet. While we waited, we read through the reviews and it’s clear this was once a good restaurant that has since declined. Many others seem to share the same negative experiences with both the food and overall quality of the establishment."
