"Recently, I visited Haskell's with a few friends for drinks. You might think that Haskell's would have a more varied, local, and intriguing selection of craft beers, but the reality is quite different. Their beer offerings are rather standard, so don’t expect anything too special. If you’re looking for craft beer in Excelsior, I suggest heading over to The Suburban.
Since Haskell's is mainly recognized for its beverages, particularly wine rather than food, you probably won't have high expectations for their menu, and that's perfectly fine. The menu is fairly typical, but it gets the job done, keeping in mind that this is primarily a bar serving food—not an upscale dining destination.
I do find it somewhat strange, and even amusing, that the outdoor seating faces the sidewalk. When pedestrians walk by, it feels a bit like you’re on display, a bit reminiscent of a medieval heckler lane. But maybe that’s just me.
That being said, Haskell's is the only spot in Excelsior that successfully creates a relaxed atmosphere with simple food that reminds you of a small Minnesota resort town. I would rate it a 4 out of 5, largely due to some inconsistent service and the outdoor ambiance (be prepared for some cigarette smoke if you choose to sit outside)."
