"Imagine our surprise when we unwrapped the very large ham (which we did notice was quite hefty) only to discover that it wasn't the spiral-cut ham we expected, but rather a whole bone-in ham. We're talking about an 18-pound ham with skin still on it. I have no experience cooking this type of ham, so we tried to make the best of the situation, but ultimately, most of it ended up being chopped up for soup and frozen. Fortunately, one of our sons brought a brisket along. Unfortunately, the ham turned out to be too salty to enjoy. The sides were great, though.
I realize we received more meat than we needed, but without knowing how to cook it properly, a lot went to waste. We're very disappointed with the Cracker Barrel in Beaumont, TX."
