"We were staying down the street and wanted to walk to dinner. Saw this place on the way to the hotel and the hotel recommended it. I'm glad they did. Dinner was excellent. I love pesto, but not the creamy one. Pesto was on the menu and they said they made it both ways. I chose the traditional pesto, no cream. It was excellent. The other diner had a veal dish which he said was excellent. The salad wasn't drowning in dressing, it was nice and light. We said if we lived in the area we'd be eating here on a regular basis."

"The Rainbow Diner was good the food, as I said, it's horrible, like everything someone ordered, there is not of steak's fish, but still have on the menu. The last time I was there my chicken shrimps that was over cook, how could not even have been cut with steak knive plus chicken dish I had order before came potato chicken and was good, but when order again it was thrown false charges of onions pices of chicken in a soup mixuer I can go on as Rainbow Diner was good, also with eating outside. But now Bill should not let his son go diner on hill now there are no signs on menu, why not serving certian elements on the menu."

It’s also an excellent place for families with nut allergies, as they have a strict allergy policy and train their employees thoroughly. They provide an ingredient list that you can review at the front counter. They use new containers for ice and ensure that all utensils are sanitized during preparation. Additionally, they open new sleeves from the safety cone to prevent any cross-contamination. Everything is done with a smile, creating a stress-free environment. "This is the best ice cream shop within at least a 15-mile radius, and possibly even farther. Their selection is outstanding, and the quality of the ice cream and ingredients is exceptional—nothing else in the area can compare. My personal favorites include the brownie sundae, chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, and cookie dough. I'm not sure how they are connected to the burger place next door, but their location is perfect. Just remember to enjoy lunch or dinner before indulging in dessert!"

"I had a very nice time ordering ice cream here but when we sent one of the kids back for a LARGE $6.00 milkshake she came back with a small 12 oz. cup. "Then the food arrived. The fried shrimp were so delicious that even my picky 4-year-old, who's usually all about chicken nuggets and fries, polished off the plate! The halibut was great, and my husband said the striped bass was the best he had enjoyed in a long time. When dessert came, we thought we couldn't possibly eat another bite, but we had to try the fried ice cream. It was worth every penny! My husband ordered a sugar-free ice cream that he wished he could have seconds of! Last but not least, we had the pleasure of being served by our waiter Fabian. He was incredibly efficient and almost seemed magical; we were just thinking about fried ice cream, and there it was! He was also very kind to our family. His thoughtful service truly made our evening, and if I could, I would give him 10 stars!"

"I went out with my wife and son to enjoy a relaxing drink and some onion rings. Unfortunately, things took a horrifying turn when a man in a 'members only' jacket approached me aggressively and, without warning, shot me before I could even respond. My thoughts are with my family, and I hope they are safe. I didn't even have the chance to say goodbye to my daughter, who was parking her car at the time. On the upside, I did get to hear one of the classic songs playing on the jukebox during my brief time there. If you decide to visit this place, be cautious of anyone wearing a 'members only' jacket, as they might pose a serious threat."

"I had a great experience at this restaurant. We looked at the menu outside, placed our order inside, and waited outside for our food. We decided to share a cheese pizza, which was delicious. Afterwards, we tried the peanut butter banana bowl, which was amazing! It was huge and I would suggest sharing it with someone. The bowl consisted of vanilla ice cream topped with peanut butter, marshmallow sauce, peanuts, and banana. It was absolutely perfect!"

"Every time I come to town I tell myself that I should try Oberweis Ice Cream and this trip, I finally did! AMAZING!! We went inside and placed our order for chocolate chip ice cream cones. We saw the tables with the chessboards and just had to play. What a great idea! The ice cream was delicious, very rich and creamy and the chips had a great chocolate flavor. We both really enjoyed our cones. We both hadn't played chess in years so it was fun to remember how! It was getting pretty late and we'd had a full day walking in the city and we were really tired, so we called the chess game a draw. But the ice cream cones were a win for sure!"

"I visited my family recently, and they were craving homemade ice cream made from farm-fresh milk. I offered to treat them, which included two toddlers, one preschooler, and three adults. With over a dozen locations in the area, we chose the closest one. This was my first time getting ice cream to go from this place. It was busy when we arrived, filled with many young staff members ready to fulfill our ice cream orders. The team was very efficient in preparing what we wanted, and I noticed a poster advertising for even more staff. I personally enjoyed a vanilla milkshake topped with whipped cream and a cherry. Our total bill for two milkshakes and four cups of single-scoop ice cream came to $26, excluding tip. We will definitely be back for more homemade ice cream the next time I visit!"

"Y family and I had a long day at work and decided to treat ourselves to big Jims for Burgers and ice cream we arrived about 8:45 pm their posted hours say closing at 10 pm. We where greated by assuming the manager at the door who let us know they where closing soon. We asked if their kitchen was already cleaned up and he said no and we could go ahead and order. Get to the counter and the guy running the till told us they weren't taking anymore orders and they where closing and then the manager stepped in and told him to take our order then the kid gave his supervisor an eye roll and walked away from the register and let the whole retraunt know he wanted to leave by closing! The manager was more than happy to take our small order and handled the situation like a professional we appreciated that but still felt uncomfortable so we went outside to wait for our food and ice cream. Not even 5 minutes later a younger lady came out with our food those where the fastest made to order burgers I've ever received! I asked if our ice cream was in the bag of hot food another eye roll to go with her coworkers and she said no. I waited inside at this point for the rest of our stuff. We where not there a total of 15 minutes alone with 2 other families still in the retraunt and we left. Get home to eat and guess what our burgers where raw. I understand the employee S are mainly kids and kids need to be taught. But that was the worst treatment I've ever had in the most expensive burger joint in town. The manager is only one person and his staff needs to grow up a bit. We all have to go to work for our money. I'm sorry we cameand bothered them and hour before closing"

"This restaurant is clean and has plenty of tables with chess games to keep people entertained while enjoying their ice cream. We arrived late and unfortunately they were out of mint chocolate chip and vanilla s'mores flavors. My nieces and nephews love coming here to play chess. The ice creams are rich and tasty. Make sure to try their s'mores, although they were sold out when we visited. This is our favorite spot for ice cream when we're in Chicago. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The atmosphere is clean and roomy. We will definitely be returning."

"I expected so much more from a place that has “Burgers” in its name. I ordered the California Burger and was so deterred by almost everything about it that I couldn’t bring myself to come close to finishing it. Let’s start with the good! The bacon was cooked exactly how I liked it, very colorful, not burnt nor flimsy or too fatty, the lettuce(that I got) didn’t appear to be wilted or soggy yet and the bun looked appetizing. That however is the extent of the good from this experience. The Cooper sharp cheese which looks appetizing in the picture seemed to be taken out of the fridge and just placed upon the top of the maybe slightly warm burger and wasn’t melted in any shape or form. The guacamole was absent from the burger altogether. I requested the burger without pickles so I have nothing to report in that regard. The onions and tomatoes which were present were noticeably not fresh and added nothing to the overall taste of the burger but added immensely to the stench. The burger itself was a sad excuse for the death of a cow. Although it was cooked properly (a fact that I only know because I didn’t get sick after eating it) it tasted nothing like a delicious patty of meat to which I thoroughly enjoy with regularity. The smell of the burger in its entirety caused my house to stink and the burger was wrapped with all the sincerity of a spiteful ex who hopes you have a terrible day. The loose tape used to secure the paper it was crumbled up in(as opposed to being wrapped) gave way as soon as I removed the burger from the bag and it tumbled onto my plate. Despite attempting to eat most of the burger and being significantly hungry I was unable to finish it. If not for the Orange Blossum shake which was relatively tasty despite being murdered by an army of rainbow sprinkles I would sincerely have attempted to give a lower score. I will not be eating here again unless significant changes are made. Please….Do Better!"
