"The chicken fried steak is expertly battered and cooked to perfection. While the white gravy could be a bit thicker, it has a wonderful flavor. I was disappointed to find that I was charged $3 for each of the two sides, but I suppose that’s on me for not reading the menu closely. I'm not sure why some hot and cold sides cost extra, but that's just how it is."

"While on a road trip in Hazel, Kentucky, we stumbled upon the Blue and White Grill after browsing some antique shops. We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. The restaurant was bustling with customers, which we took as a good sign. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our visit. During our conversation with a lady, we discovered she was the owner. It seemed they don't see many visitors from Birmingham, England, making our experience even more special. The food was amazing, and we loved the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, a nice change from the typical fast food chains. We both enjoyed delicious grilled cheese sandwiches with "real chips" (known as steak fries in the U.S.), and a Pecan Pie that has now become our favorite. We can't praise this place enough and hope to return one day. If you're ever in Hazel, don't miss out on the chance to dine at the Blue and White Grill!"

"Gringos Botanas is fantastic! While their prices are slightly elevated, they're reasonable for the quality. The food was definitely the standout feature. I ordered the tacos el tule, and they were delicious! The waitstaff was prompt and friendly too. In terms of portion sizes, I found that three tacos make for a satisfying meal. If you're after a feast, Golden Corral is just down the road. But if you’re in the mood for great Mexican food, the menu at Gringos Botanas has just what you need."

"Cari was an excellent server! We had a party of eight, and everything went smoothly. She was attentive, came by promptly for drink refills, and was very friendly. The calf fries were delicious, and the cornbread was outstanding. The cornbread croutons were also a nice touch! Most of our meals were great, with the exception of the smoked salmon, which didn't quite meet expectations. When we arrived, we were informed there would be a wait, but they couldn't provide an exact wait time. I would estimate it was about 30-40 minutes, which seemed reasonable for a Friday night. The manager kept us updated throughout our wait. By the way, check the menu—military personnel receive a one-time offer for a free cheeseburger meal! Overall, it was a fantastic experience! I LOVED THIS BAR!"

"Really disappointed. I ordered smoked ham, chicken, salad, and mashed potatoes. The waitress told us the chicken was shredded it I wouldn't have ordered it. I'm not a fan of legs and thighs. My husband ordered chicken, pulled pork, potato salad, and cole slaw. The chicken was not shredded, it was leg quarters. The ham was okay as was the pulled pork. The mashed potatoes were bland. The potato salad was horrible. I'm not sure if it was too much of a spice I'm not familiar with or if it was spoiled. I doubt seriously we'll return."

"Had lunch here and was really surprised how good it was. This in not your hole-in-the-wall, small town cafe. The menu is big and the desserts are to die for. We had sliders with fries. I think the fries were just cut from the finest Idaho potatoes. The sliders tasted like they were homemade and just came from the oven. The meats and cheeses were great, and all was served very hot (and pretty quickly). A cupcake and pecan pie to-go topped it off. This place is worth the drive from Tyler, even if you have no other reason to go to Gladewater."

"I get the impression that this place used to be way more popular back at its old location. The food was fine and the employees were nice, but it's really expensive. I'm from Georgia and miss southern food, but $27 for a 2 piece chicken plate with 1 side of collard greens, tea, and sweet potato pie is pretty expensive, especially considering it's counter service, not even a sit down place. $3.50 for a small, sticky cup of sweet tea with no refills is silly. The location is hidden on the second floor of a weird auxiliary food court for a satellite campus of Creighton. There aren't even napkins readily available in the space, and there's sports blasting loudly on the tvs in there. It felt like a gentrified husk of what the old pictures show it used to be. There was hardly anyone in there despite it being peak lunchtime on a Saturday. I really, really wanted to like it. Like I said, I really miss southern food."
