"I tried the Chili Gobi, asking for it to be spicy. Unfortunately, it was not crispy at all and lacked spiciness. It was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. I might try the Gobi Manchurian to see if it's any better. I love Palak Aloo Saag, so I was pleased to find a vegan version on the menu. I requested it to be spicy, but it was just okay. It wasn't the best I've had, and it felt like it was missing something. The Poori was different but fine, while the vegetable samosas were delicious with their crispy, flaky texture and well-seasoned filling. The menu clearly marks vegan options with a "V" and also includes labels for gluten-free (GF), nut-free (NF), and dairy-free (DF) dishes. I would like to try more vegan items like the Bhindi Masala and dosas. Overall, I might return to this restaurant, but it wouldn't be my top choice based on my experience."

"The veg dinner for two is a great deal, but make sure they give you everything that comes with it! Last night I ordered take out, only to come home and realize they hadn 't included the raita, and also forgot to include one of my favorite sauces! : : Ironic, too, as the cashier exclaimed that I had ordered a lot of food! :P The *best* deal is to dine in, because then tea is included, as well as those papadum chips which are not included when you order take out. It is a lot of food, but it makes for great leftovers!!"

"We have dined at this restaurant half a dozen times, and we've always had a pleasant experience. I see some one-star reviews here, but I don't share that sentiment; perhaps the restaurant has made some changes recently. We recently took four friends with us, and they all enjoyed their meals as well, so it's clear we're not alone in our appreciation! As others have mentioned, this is a proper sit-down restaurant. I'm not sure where the 'street food' angle comes into play; while I can't comment on the authenticity of the dishes, we regularly enjoy Indian cuisine and find it quite good here. The only dish we weren't satisfied with was the Aloo Paneer, which was quite bland. Portion sizes can vary, but overall, the value is decent. Service can also be hit or miss; we've had the same waiter who was inattentive and slow on one visit, yet a joy to deal with the next time."

"What happened?! This is my second review of Bombay Grill with my last being a few years ago closer to their initial opening and a full 5 stars. So much has changed.We haven't had Indian from here since before COVID, so a few years, and we were excited to order for pickup. Food was ready promptly for pickup, and when I arrived the restaurant had a very sad feel. A woman seated with her family was complaining her curry dish wasn't the right color and I was internally rolling my eyes. Her husband had his head in his hands out of embarrassment or frustration his food was the only which hadn't arrived. Anyway, I grabbed my food and headed home.We had the chicken biryani, curry chicken, a grilled meat appetizer, and samosa appetizer. Appetizers were fine nothing amazing or terrible no surprises. The chicken biriyani though was one of the oddest things I've eaten. While edible, it was incredibly overspiced with cloves where at several points we found ourselves pulling full clove stems out of our mouths. That's unheard of im not Gordon Ramsey but eff me I even know that's not okay. At one point we said it tasted like someone dropped some spiced apple cider in the rice. As for the chicken curry, the color was totally different than what we were used to it was red the lady at the table was no longer as obnoxious as I had believed. It basically tasted like chicken tikka masala with some curry powder thrown in. Everything seemed like a cook who was issued to cooking Italian or some other cuisine tried cooking Indian food for the first time and was winging it. This was a huge departure from our earlier years of often ordering from here, and sad to say we may be on a break again. I hope for the best with them as Bay Ridge like many areas desperately needs a solid Indian spot."

"you really need to improve your food quality. I got my breakfast from here and daal was rotten and it smells really bad, and I ordered chapati with the daal. the chapati felt like a ball proves. it was really hard to break and eat, full of flour. yes, at the end I could not have my food. I think they should not waste their hard-earned money on something that is not worthy."

"I have eaten here many times. The food is wildly inconsistent, almost as if there are different chefs with different recipes from day to day. Vegan options on the buffet are boring and bland, but if you know what to order the food can be a solid 8/10. As a fan of Indian/Pakistani food, this is not great by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly better than nothing, considering the lack of options in the area. The staff is always super nice and accommodating and I want to continue supporting this business even more because of that."

"First time at Royal of India was for the Saturday lunch buffet. It was stellar! There was a great array of veggie and paneer dishes, plus chicken and goat. The buffet included raita, pakora, samosas, several chutneys, and kachumber salad. A basket of naan graced every table. And, in addition to all the delicious food, you can enjoy mango juice, perfectly sweetened steaming chai, and ice cream to top it off! Great value for the buffet and wonderful flavor. Only comment is the food is mild so if you are looking for spicy food you would have to order off the menu."

"I will never ever visit this restaurant again.There are many things that have happened so I will never prefer to go again1. I ordered mango lasi and when I tasted it I saw some type of spice taste in it so I told the server to change it but he refused to change and his behaved so rudely.2. The amount they charged us in the bill and the amount which was the price menu was not the same. it was our mistake to crosscheck the bill again. we checked the bill but only the items not the amount.3. It's too pricey, we ordered lunch buffet My husband ordered 3 types of non veg curry but all the curries are same)4. After eating food me and my husband even our friends also got sick.Now the Conclusion is that we will never go to this restaurant again.Don't waste your money.The staff member was so rude.I am paying them for the food and services they are giving not for the insult their staff member did."

"I love Burmese food and was really happy to see there 's a place fairly close to us! We ordered takeout and the food was ready pretty quickly. There were a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu which is always appreciated. Portion sizes were great too!Tea leaf salad 1000/10I 'm a s for a good tea leaf salad and theirs does not disappoint at all. They gave me a choice of lettuce, cabbage, or a combination of the 2 and I went for the cabbage. I think that 's the right choice. Mint jalapeño chicken 8/10Great portion sizes and great flavor. Ordered it medium spicy and it wasn 't spicy in any way, shape, or form. Next time we 'll try hot or extreme hot and see how that is. Fiery tofu 7/10The tofu was cooked really well and the flavor was good, but it was maybe mildly spicy at best. The dish was advertised as being spicy and we ordered the extreme hot level to guarantee the heat, but it wasn 't really there. I readily admit my spice tolerance is higher than most, so maybe their spice ratings are calibrated differently than mine are.Cucumber minted lemonade 20/10My husband ordered this and I didn 't. Immediate regret. We probably could have drank a gallon of this. Super refreshing and not too sweet!Overall a really solid local spot for authentic Burmese cooking!"

"I also ordered extra sides of bullet naan and garlic naan, and to my surprise, he included a complimentary rice pudding that was absolutely delightful. Since I’ve never dined in at the restaurant, I might be mistaken, but the best way I can describe the food is that I could really taste the love and care that went into it—much like my grandmother's cooking. It truly satisfied my hunger completely! I will definitely be returning for dinner. The prices are very affordable, the menu offers great options, and the flavors are fantastic. It was the perfect detour from traffic!"

"everything about this place is wonderful ! the employees and owner are so kind, the food and the delicious !this location is unique compared to the original location, because it has some Indian-Mexican fusion dishes on the menu too !we had samosas, chili pakoras, mango lasso, and two chicken tikka masala bowls for lunch. so much food we had plenty to take home. everything was delicious, and the chicken was incredibly tender."

"Just walked out with the most horrible experience. Waited 25 minutes for an order of a chicken Tikka curry and a couple of naans. Reminded the person at the counter person..he asks me to wait a couple of minutes. About 7-8 minutes later I realize he has kept a bag of food at the counter. So I go up to him and ask is that mine and he is like yes. Does not bother to tell me it's my order..nothing. I ask him why he didn't bother to tell me and he is like sorry I was busy. Quite a horrible experience.Saw him go and serve takeaway to atleast a couple of customers before that (incidentally, all of them were White of course). Enough Indian food places in the vicinity to avoid a horrible experience like this. Don't waste your time."

"I decided to order delivery on a whim and got the samosas, chicken kofta with chickpeas, and rice pudding from this restaurant. The prices were a bit high for the portion sizes, but the food was tasty. The rice pudding, in particular, was the best I've ever had - creamy and indulgent with a smooth texture. The samosas were a good size and not too greasy, although they were a bit too spicy for my liking. The chicken kofta was flavorful and juicy, but the portion size seemed a bit small for the price. Overall, I recommend this restaurant if you're in the mood for Indian food in the Dormont/South Hills area. They offer unique dishes that you may not find in other Indian restaurants. The high prices were mainly due to delivery fees, not the restaurant itself."

"We dined at this restaurant on a Saturday evening with our two young kids, and it was a delightful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the lamb curry (spicy) and the palak paneer, as well as the chicken mushroom curry (mild, suitable for the kids). All three dishes were bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and just the right level of saltiness! The naan and paneer naan were outstanding as well. The staff was friendly, the food arrived promptly, and the restaurant was bright and clean. We’ll definitely be returning!"

"I have visited this restaurant a few times and have always felt relaxed and enjoyed the food. The lunch specials during the week are more affordable. I brought my children here on a Saturday, who cannot eat spicy food. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they could eat the curry lamb and really enjoyed the naan bread. The owner even gave us a sample (actually half a cup) of mango yogurt, which we all loved. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. For lunch, the price per person is between $20-30. I highly recommend the naan bread, Himalayan curry, mango lassi, chicken korma, and lamb tandoori. There is plenty of parking available in the free parking lot."

"The food is decent enough but the customer service leaves much to be desired. I have ordered delivery here on two previous occasions and the driver was discourteous both times. Most recently I placed an order through Seamless and received a call from the restaurant stating my driver would not deliver my order because I did not leave a tip. I intended to tip in cash, and have tipped every time I ordered from this establishment. That said, I have never had an experience like this where I am being demanded a tip. I paid for my food and delivery service, period. That was wildly unprofessional and I promptly canceled my order and wont be ordering here again."
