"Dined here on the evening of 3/16]]Thank you to my BD for finding Miyakko Japanese Cuisine and making the decision to come here for dinner. The restaurant is quite small but comfortable spacious enough IMO. There were 2 servers manning the restaurant and they both seemed to tag team when it came down to taking orders assisting patrons needs. CAGE was the server who primarily assisted us throughout our meal- this review is more so directed towards him. Don't be overwhelmed but the menu here is massive. There are pages and pages of Japanese traditional foods, sushi options, and assorted appetizers. We decided on: Nigiri Deluxe 9pc chef choice assorted nigiri], 2 Item Dinner Bento w/ teriyaki salmon california rolls], Star Roll, Under The Sea Roll, Wakame Salad seaweed].Food:Our meal came out fairly quickly and thanks to Cage's honest assessment, I refrained from order another roll or two. Our table was kind of a tight squeeze once everything was brought out. Each meal starts off with a house salad and some miso soup- both very tasty. The dinner bento box came with 3 mini sides tofu, seaweed salad, a pickled radish/cucumber dish]. Bonus point simply for that- not only did it add to the presentation but the sides complimented the entree very well. The highlight of the meal was the 9pc nigiri deluxe which included uni a plump scallop. Everything was fresh, had a clean finish, and portions were great. Wakame salad was too watery and too sweet for my tastebuds- wouldn't order that again. Under The Sea Roll Star Roll were both delicious but if I had to chose between the two, UTS is an total knock out!! Shout out to Cage for making our meal THAT MUCH MORE amazing and bonus points for him recognizing my daughter's small sign language gestures!! He was extremely attentive, patient, and extremely kind throughout the meal. Any all requests that were made was welcomed with a smile. 5/5 stars for both Cage the quality foods that Miyakko serves!! I'd come back in a heartbeat and you best believe I'm going for that nigiri again!!!"

"Review #001 2023I haven 't written a review in over 2 years and this experience was so terrible that I had to literally wait and compose myself, as I was afraid that I would say something that I might regret later. My ex brother in law reached out to me on Thursday, January 19th, because he wanted to treat my older brother and his family to sushi before they flew back home.It was a school night so I didn 't want to drive out too far so I decided to Yelp for a closer spot and this place popped up with 4 star rating, but I regretted not reading the reviews. We showed up around 6:30 PM and asked for a table for 8. We were seated about 10 minutes later. I should 've left, when I noticed how badly the restaurant actually smelled, but I was too d to go with my guy instinct. We ordered a bunch of stuff and everything was ok, that was until the food started coming out.The salmon carpaccio smelled like something had died and it was dark in color. So disgusting! But since we each took a piece and there was nothing left to send back, we just all looked at each other in disbelief how a restaurant could serve such disgusting food to paying customers. I wouldn 't feed it to my enemy. The hamachi carpaccio was decent. We had two orders of lion king rolls. I took 1 bite and my niece took 1 bite and we both spat ours out at the same time. This time we were smart enough to send the food back. I told the waitress that the fish was bad and rotten, but no apology. When everything else started to arrive, we all just sat and stared at each other wondering if we should leave or take the risk of dying from food poisoning. We tried our best to be good customers by waiting until all the other customers left to let the server know how disappointed we were in the food quality, but she didn 't even bother to bring out the manager or offer an apology. At that point I decided it was easier to dispute the charge with my credit card company.Honestly, they did a great job on the food arrangement as they looked very beautiful and appetizing. However, what good is pretty food when they 're rotten?I paid almost $400 to eat trash and feel disgusted during my entire time at the establishment! I 've been to many sushi places and this place by far wins the award for nastiest sushi of the century! If you come across my review, don 't bother coming here! If you 've already sat down, make any excuse to leave because you will not leave with a good impression! Don 't say I didn 't warn you!"

"Every time I've been here, I've been surprised at the low cost. This place is right next to a higher end sushi joint, but sells rolls and the like for much less, and it honestly feels like a hidden gem because of it. They have some in-ground seating which requires you to take off your shoes, but they also have some standard tables and bench seating along one side of the place. The food is always delicious. I usually got for the tempura and teriyaki chicken (sometimes beef bento with some CA rolls, a standard American palette classic, and it's always good. My boyfriend appreciates the multiple different cooked rolls and the flowing green tea. His picky-as-ever kid happily ate her cucumber rolls and tried plenty of new things here, which is a huge plus (we thought she would like other sushi places as she claims to love sushi, but would barely touch her CA rolls at rotating sushi! . The joint is clearly run by family as their kids will be on devices or doing homework at a table, but as someone who grew up in a restaurant, it's rather charming to me. The place has a bustling to-go scene, and during dinner it never seems to die down. I'm surprised at the low rating this place gets considering their price and location (I wonder how many people found this place after discovering the neighboring sushi place usually has an hour wait! As the food will slake a craving and won't break the bank. The chicken is never dry, the soups are always flavorful, the rolls are always tasty and the fish is never smelly/chewy. We live nearby and come at least once a fortnight and have yet to have a bad meal here (though I will say the teriyaki salmon was not the best, but the rest has been fine . Give this place a dine-in try and don't be afraid to try some creative rolls here. I suggest the kamikaze roll.Kid-friendliness: Kids meal available for dine in only is pretty good.Parking: Limited street parking, but there's parking around the side streets before or after the restaurant along El Camino"
