"The hostess disappeared for mins. We had reservations and were not seated until even though there were plenty of open tables. It took well over an hour to receive our food they were 'very busy', no they weren't. We finished our drinks long before any of our food arrived. When i asked for a refillon my diet coke i was told they didn't do free refills. I would have thought that since they kept apologizing for how long things were taking even though we didn't ask or complsin, they could have given me a free refill. The food was delicious though, but the length of time to receive it and the lack of a top up on my drink means we won't be back"

We live in Northern California but whenever we are in town, we look forward to eating at Mitsuyoshi. My favorites are the house made tsukimono, tempora beef combo, and my daughter loves the cute kids meal

We drive from South Orange County just to have great, classic Japanese food. Really enjoy the chawan mushi, which is rarely seen on menus these days. The shrimp tempura has a light, crispy batter. Yum! Service is excellent View menu

I was very impressed by the meal we shared at Mitsuyoshi, the miso seabass was absolutely delicious and the tuna sashimi was fresh and tasty. I was sorry to see that there were so few people, but the service and the food especially were outstanding

Mitsuyoshi has been around for many years in same location. Over the years, menu price went up, but they continue to prepare and serve authentic Japanese food most of us can afford. I have been a regular there for many years and just wish I live closer than I do now. Will dine at Mitsuyoshi whenever I have a chance

This was authentic japanese cuisine. The traditional first-class service and delicious, high quality menu offerings made for an awesome dinner experience for our family. The udon, teishoku meal, and fresh water eel on rice dinner were all fantastically delicious. We will return to this place again soon. Highly recommended View menu

I have dined here over the years, and recently visited with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised that the same staff was still there and as cordial and attentive as I remembered! The food quality and selection is very good, with mostly all selections being authentic in their preparations and offerings. (As opposed to somewhere such as Benihana); which I also enjoy on occasion- but personally find Mitsuyoshi to be a wonderful change of pace. I would definitely recommend Mitsuyoshi and I’m sure they’ll will make you feel welcome

Fabulously surprised at the authenticity of this restaurant. I’m Japanese and felt like my relatives from Osaka we’re serving me from their kitchen. The hakusaizuke (pickled cabbage) is homemade and was the first indication that this was a special restaurant. The Saba Shioyaki and Hamachi Kama were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The vegetable croquette had the perfect crunch and the sukiyaki was elegantly flavored not too sweet, with tender slices of marinated beef. We had a party of and visited on a Sunday, which seemed unusually quiet, but we will definitely be coming back

"Our first visit to the restaurant last night came highly recommended, thanks to a friend's glowing review of their vegan menu. We were pretty excited and ordered two vegan meatball subs. The trouble began when we waited for nearly 25 minutes after placing our order. Our server, a guy named Ryan (I think), came over and told us they were all out of vegan meatballs. Naturally, we asked why it took so long for them to figure this out, which seemed to fluster poor Ryan a bit. However, he was polite throughout the conversation. We decided to switch our order to one regular meatball sub and a vegan eggplant sub, thinking all was well. But, surprise, surprise, Ryan returned a few minutes later to tell us they were also out of eggplant. At this point, we had been waiting for almost 40 minutes with no food in sight, so we asked for the check to pay for the soda my husband had been nursing. Here's why the whole experience left a sour taste in our mouths: 1. Why in the world didn't the waitstaff know about these shortages in advance? It seems like basic communication within the restaurant was seriously lacking. Customers shouldn't be left hanging, wondering if they'll actually get what they ordered. 2. It's kind of baffling that Ryan was left to break the bad news not just once, but twice. You'd think the manager, who we saw chatting with other diners just a few feet away, would have taken the initiative to come over and speak to us directly. 3. I was made to feel like I should be really grateful they decided not to charge us for the Diet Coke my husband drank. Overall it was a terrible experience and no effort was made to rectify what happened. I obviously cannot comment on the food since we never recieved any. As for customer service...HORRIBLE!"
