"Mariposa is a stunning and stylish spot that I absolutely adore. The service is flawless from the moment you arrive. We’re always warmly and thoughtfully welcomed. You might wonder what “thoughtful” means here, but when I receive a black napkin instead of a white one to avoid lint on my pants, and my son is acknowledged when most children are overlooked, it truly shows care. This level of service is rare these days. The popovers are incredibly light and flaky, melting in your mouth. The whipped strawberry butter is creamy, sweet, and perfectly whipped—pure bliss. The broth was warm and savory, comforting me deeply; I’d return just for that alone. Dipping the popover into the broth elevated both flavors amazingly! The eggs Benedict with bacon was rich, decadent, and creamy. I only managed one, boxing the other to enjoy later. The bacon was thick, meaty, and perfectly salty, complementing the avocado beautifully. The egg was flawless—a perfect 10/10. A delightful side of fruit and home fries made the meal complete. The burger was so delicious I barely had time to snap a photo, as you can see from the hole in the bun from my eager bite. It was cooked perfectly to medium, the cheese melty and meaty, making every bite deeply satisfying. Their truffle fries are an essential treat every time. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food, and exceptional service—Mariposa has it all."

"I didn’t have the best experience at this restaurant. I was very excited to try a new black owned business in the area. We were greeted by a nice waiter who tried to accommodate our party of three at a original table of 2. Once our third party came, a woman came to our table to “scold” us about sitting at a 2 person table with 3 people. She said we should have waited for a bigger table to be ready. If that was the policy she should have communicated that with her staff (who seated us), not us. We are the customers, the conversation didn’t have anything to do with us. We didn’t seat ourselves. We moved to a table of 4, once it was ready. When my food arrived the waffle was completely burnt on the bottom and it was not edible. They made me a new waffle and it had more air in it than batter. As soon as I touched it, the waffle completely disintegrated into crumbs. When asked how our experience was, I was very honest with my disappointment of the waffle. The response I received was, “that’s a first.” There was no apology or alternatives given. As we paid our bill and was preparing to leave, we were rushed out of the restaurant. We were told there was another party of 4 waiting to be seated. There is a right and wrong way to treat customers and I didn’t feel valued at this establishment. The saving grace were the grits. They were very good and I wish I ordered those. I truly hope they are able to work out the “kinks.” In order to have a long lasting business, you need to have good food AND customer service."
