"I arrived at this restaurant with a $25 Uber ride and decided to try their affordable unlimited Indian buffet, which had incredibly delicious food. The service was quick and friendly. I ended up paying $25, including tips, because I ate quickly and left in just 10 minutes. I actually came here twice today, and the food was even better during my second visit since there were more options on Sundays! I’m so full that it feels like my stomach might explode!"

"This review is strictly on the service as the food has remained consistently good. I've also taken as much time as possible to allow for as an objective experience as possible. When the owners/staff are speaking animatedly and with more energy with other Indian patrons who are sitting at the bar--whether or not they are family friends, etc, but go completely silent when they serve, that's a red flag. I was in the mood for Indian food and was in the area running errands, so I decided to stop by. I didn't really think much of the interaction initially when I walked in and was seated, but this question is directed mainly at the man and woman whom I've seen the last two times I've been here. Is there a reason for the difference in demeanor? There was another family who came in and were seated for dinner shortly before I left, and I noticed they were treated the same way--with complete silence. I'd consider this a nuance of this place specifically since I've been to Indian restaurants in Diamond Bar, Ontario, and Pomona, and there are distinctly more interactive. I wouldn't consider this a nuance of introversion based on what I've seen or heard. I'm not looking to have a heart-to-heart conversation but at least have a basic level of interaction like a thank you or welcome. I thanked the man each time my water was refilled, and I also said thank you when leaving. NO REPLY at any point, and this is not an exaggeration or embellishment of the experience. This has been consistent. If you're going to order for takeout, you're fine. If you're good with silence, you're fine too. I'll stick with Curryland in Pomona. That's a rougher part of Pomona in a small and dense parking lot. The food there is just as good, and least there's an inkling of customer service. I'm done with this place."

"The staff at Mantra were incredibly helpful and friendly, easily earning 5 stars. They offer a midday buffet for just $10, with plenty of vegetarian options. However, many authentic South Indian dishes use ghee, so most vegetarian dishes are not vegan. At the buffet, I enjoyed the dal, basmati rice, and potato fritters. There was also a small salad with sweet and Indian sauces featuring tamarind and coriander. As an Indian, I expected the use of ghee in many dishes, which was a bit frustrating for those seeking vegan options. Beyond the buffet, the menu itself includes several vegan dishes—about five—just ask which ones are suitable. Overall, the food was delicious!"

"Taste of India is a tucked away unique establishment that is family run and offers fresh-tasting authentic Indian cuisine. Our decision to try this cozy restaurant one evening turned out to be a terrific idea. We entered the venue and were seated in a comfortable booth as we were approached by a smiling server, received menus, and were warmly welcomed to the restaurant. Our bottle of wine was opened and poured, as we started to review the menus to decide what our evening indulgence would be. A multitude of options awaits patrons at Taste of India. After several minutes debating our dinner options, we placed our orders, sipped our wine, and settled in for a meal we would not soon forget. Garlic Naan Our order of Garlic Naan $2.50) was hot, freshly-baked, and flavorful with the addition of fresh garlic and parsley. It was a sufficient amount of bread for the two of us, and we found it to be of excellent quality. Steamed Basmati Rice, Raita, and Accompanying Indian Sauces Additionally, r"

"I order tandoori chicken, lamb biryani, shrimp biryani, samosa chat, butter naan, keema naan, rogan josh, paneer karahi. All total of $115 but I waste my money in the restaurant. Tandoori chicken was all dried and lots of color mix, lamb biryani from any angle it was not biryani and I even could not eat one spoon of it due to very bad lamb smell, shrimp biryani was not looked like biryani. Samosa chaat, they put nothing except yoghurt and looked like they made a day before, butter and keema naan all burned and keema naan had very bad smell like lamb biryani. Paneer Karachi’s paneer was not cooked properly and tastes was bad, rogan josh taste was very bad and smells like live lamb, I could not eat even single spoon. I order all these for dinner and I order afternoon but looked like it was made afternoon and served me when I went to pickup. Customer service is not good, they do not have smily face instead they looked like angry. I am not going there ever again and do not suggest any food from this restaurant. This place is worst Indian restaurant that I have ever visit. If there was negative star then I would have press that. And last but not least, finding parking is nightmare"

"Decided to order from here for the first time, delivery. Food arrived on time but wasn't exactly what I had expected. Sure it was flavorful, but when I've ordered biryani from other places, it generally had more than just rice, seasoning and the protein. This calamari biryani had nothing but the seasoned rice, a few almond slivers, and sixish calamari rings. I had also ordered the mushroom mattar, but when it arrived, all I got was a container full of sauce, three-ish scoops of peas and a few blocks of very firm tofu. The calamari curry was just a handful of calamari rings in a very soupy/watery sauce. The chicken korma was similarly devoid of anything but the protein and the very soupy sauce. In fact, when I first set the three containers, the mattar, korma, and curry next to each other, all drowning in sauce, the only way I could tell the difference between them were the proteins and peas. I've never had indian food so devoid of any other ingredients before and it was definitely surprising. Although the food was okay, I probably won't be ordering from here in the future."

"By far, it is one of the excellent Indian restaurants when I go towards Victoria Gardens or Ontario Mills, restaurant is located right next to the theater anytime we go to watch the Indian movies; this is the Indian restaurant where we go and eat. This is afamily run restaurant so the quality control is is strong, and their recipes are authentic. The people working there probablyhave 50 years of combined experience in Indian food. Check them out. You would love them. I will be going back soon. Thank you"

"Pretty bad food particularly vegetarian food. Tea was horrible looks like they have no idea how to make Chai. Onion Bhajia was undercooked. Baigan Bharata was more like a pickle. Coconut gravy dish was passable. Naan was dry. Will never go back. Vegetarian options: Pathetic Vegetarian food. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"

"I have been dining at this restaurant for 10+ years. I like their food. I always tip 20%. Only recently have I found out that they already include 15% service fee in the overall bill and I tipped 20% over that. It would be nice that they would tell me about this charge. Instead, on the credit card signature page, they still leave you with a blank to tip. I am writing this review to remind others. updated review: In response to the response from the owner: Dear Taste of Indian, I apologize for not reading the itemized receipt carefully. I apologize for not knowing that it is a standard procedure to charge 15% service fee for a large group. I thought it would be a good idea to bring all my 9 students plus 1 colleague to dine at your restaurant so that they could bring their families later. That's how much I like your restaurant and your food. Clarification 1: I didn't receive a refund and I no longer feel that I need it. The important thing is that my students and I had a great time on November 4th to celebrate they completion of a program. Both the food and the experience totally worth the $32.09 service charge and the $50 tip. Clarification 2: no one brought the receipt to my table. I went to the front desk and I asked for a receipt. A woman printed it out and gave it to me there. Therefore I didn't have time to read the receipt. Again, my mistake. I will be more careful from now on. We love your food. I would appreciate that no one spit in my food next time I am there. Five stars for your food. Five stars for your service. Peace. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
"Back in buffet action! A great spot for lunch or dinner, and for large groups or individuals. I’m not sure why a lot of reviews call the food bland, this was my first time and I loved it The potato cakes were actually too spicy for my toddler You’ll find a delightful variety of vegetable dishes. The curried cabbage is amazing. Their chicken tikka masala was incredibly tender and ranks top on my list for chicken tikka in this city. For dessert, they serve a rice pudding with healthy bits of nuts. They also have Gulab Jamun, a dessert that is like donut holes soaked in simple syrup. Their carrot cake was traditional indian style and came with raisins all of this can be mixed up and eaten together. They also serve fresh orange slices. Plenty of open seating space in a lovely decorated setting, and ample parking out front."

"Everything was delicious, from the Tandoori Roti to the Garlic Naan! The Shrimp Jalfrazi had the perfect amount of spice to warm me up, and the Paneer Makhani was great as well. The sauce was thick and paired well with the Peshawari Naan."

"Wow. just wow. First time here. We arrived at 8:20pm and from the outside, felt a little skeptical since it was empty and looked like cafeteria style. But we were craving Indian food and so went in and up to the counter to check out the menu. We asked for recommendations as well as non dairy options and were immediately told that they could make adjustments as needed. Always appreciate the effort. Ordered samosas, shrimp saag with no dairy, chicken palak, kadai chicken, rice and garlic naan. More than enough for 2 people, but we wanted to try. Everything was cooked fresh to order, packed and ready to go in 20min. When we loaded it in the car, we just knew the garlic naan was going to live up its name. And when we got home and dug in, wow. Just wow. It was all sooo good. Nothing too strong, too spicy, too bland it was all perfectly seasoned. And the chicken in the curries?? I can't believe how tender. So good that I paused mid meal to write this because it would be a crime to not give credit where it is due. Back to eating now, and we will definitely be back!! Thank you good sir for all your recommendations!"

"It is a treat to find an organic Indian spot with a variety of gluten free and vegan options. (Couldn't even find something like this in LA! Both the smaller cafe and the restaurant delivered the same quality. The shop at the back of the restaurant also had a great selection of food to purchase and bring home to make for yourself. My deducted star is only for the mildly undercooked gf dough on the samosas and pakoras. It's not a big deal.. GF is hard to get exactly right. I still very much enjoyed it and will return often!"

"Best lunch buffet!!! I love Indian food so my family brought me here for a birthday dinner. We ordered my usual favorites: chicken masala, Aloo-Kochfeld, saag slices, goatery and Samosas. It was my first time to try a dosa. Everything was delicious! We were back to the lunch buffet several times. Great options! Service is also wonderful! Note: The review is for Indian food. UPDATE: It's over 3 years and a whole pandemic since my last review. The lunch buffet has increased from $11-$12 to $17.95 now. The food is still fantastic and this is still my favorite place for both buffets and sit dinners. We just had lunch yesterday (Tuesday afternoon). There was a constant flow of Diners, but it was not crowded so that was nice. The food was delicious and the service was attentive without feeling transferred. The last time I was here was a prerogative, so I was very happy to see that they survived. I wished her success. Please give them an attempt, you will not regret it."

"We have been to the Gaylord in Schaumburg before, so since we live in Chicago, we decided to give this location a try. The food here is excellent, but the service is quite lacking. I expected the restaurant to be more crowded on a Saturday night, but it was rather empty. The waiter couldn't get our drink orders right! Three of us ordered dirty martinis with blue cheese olives. I asked the waiter if they had blue cheese olives and he said they did. My husband ordered a gimlet on the rocks. The martinis not only came out not 'dirty' but there were no olives in any of them. The gimlet was served in a martini glass. When we asked for the blue cheese olives the waiter seemed quite old and we didn't want to confuse him by reordering our drinks dirty we were brought regular pimento olives. My husband's gimlet was served in a martini glass with no ice. So the waiter brought over a glass of ice and proceeded to attempt to pour gimlet from the martini glass into the glass of ice. We offered to help, but he refused and then spilled part of the drink on the table! The food was very good, but the service was slow. We were hoping that this would be our new 'go to' Indian restaurant since Jaipur closed, but we'll have to keep looking. The Gaylord in the suburbs is much better that the Chicago location when it comes to service, which is a main reason people go out rather than ordering in"

"This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Although the location can be a bit tricky to find, it’s definitely worth the effort because the food is absolutely delicious! My friends from India recommended this place to me, and the flavors are reminiscent of the dishes they prepare when I visit. I particularly enjoyed the Lamb Biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala, both of which were flavorful and authentic. The ambiance of the restaurant is also quite classy. A special thank you to our server for treating us to complimentary desserts! I've been eager to try Gulab Jamun, and it did not disappoint! I can’t wait to come back again. Just a tip: be sure to remind the servers about your preferred spice level!"

"This is our new favorite local BYOB spot. We've been twice now. The staff is very warm and friendly and the food is superb. If you like well crafted food and are willing to pay for very interesting tasting, beautifully plated food then this is a great place to go. We've been twice and both times they have been great with dietary restrictions as well. It's charming, casual enough to walk in (if you can get in!) but also a great place to take visiting friends and relatives or for a special night out or date. The Wayne area needed a place like this. We'll keep going back for sure."

"This was one of the greatest Indian food experiences of my life. They had great draft beer for 3$ and I split the vegetarian thali with my two friends. The service was fantastic the chutney was bomb, and everything about what followed was magical. The paneer was the best I ever had. With the naan and the dal, it was amazing. It was so fresh, and textured and just exploded with flavor in your mouth. I had poppadam with a few bites of everything and it completed the flavors with its lovely crunchy texture. The raitha was new to me, and I absolutely loved!!!! It. It was sour and savory and creamy and complemented the flavors of everything amazingly. Finally dessert came. I was already buzzing after all the wonderful food and my cheap delicious beer, and I got my mind blown by the gulab jamun. This little cinnabon circle on crack in a sweet sugar cardamom sauce with this incredible texture was the cherry on top, (or the gulab jamun on top) of an exquisite experience. 10/10 5/5, wonderful, GO HERE!"

"The flavor and presentation of the meal was lovely, and the service was phenomenal! Russell was friendly and made sure our experience was top notch. At one point my daughter looked over to him and he came to the table to make sure we didn't need anything. This is the mark of someone who is really paying attention to his customers. The manager also greeted us and checked in at the end of the meal. The extensive and affordable menu might have suggested a compromise on quality, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was a wait for the food because everything was made to order. All arrived piping hot with perfectly balanced spices and beautiful presentation, indicative of a chef who is excellent at their trade. Because of the texture of the onions, I could tell that even the nans were freshly made. We will definitely return when we're in the area!"
