"The food was ok. But, service is horrible (and that's an understatement). They seemed to be serving everyone else except us in the restaurant. There were two parties (of 5 and 2) still ordering and tables empty when we came in around 6 PM on a Thursday. Another party of 4 joined 15 mins after we came in. We ordered a salad, veg pakoras, an entree and couple of breads. They seemed to start our order only after all the other parties were fully served. In fact the parties of 2 and 5 left before our food was served. By the time our food was served, the party that came in after us also wrapped up. It was a little obvious why we were served last but, I don't want to suggest it since it was our first time here. Maybe it was a genuine mistake, but it sure was frustrating. We were already hungry when we came in and when we checked with the waiter after half an hour, she was super rude as well. Finally, after 45 mins after ordering, our food was served. It was edible or so I felt (maybe because my hunger had gotten to my head by then). So, if you're a customer stopping here during your road trip looking for desi food, look forward to a good and long drive break."

"My husband and I recently decided to try this restaurant for the first time on a Friday night. Initially, we were a bit hesitant when we noticed there were no other customers, but we decided to place our order anyway. We both selected different curries, along with an appetizer whose name escapes me, and some naan bread. Everything was delicious! The service was excellent, the restaurant was clean, and the prices were very reasonable. I can’t understand why it wasn't busy for a Friday night! During our visit, one other table of customers arrived, and we also saw several takeout orders being picked up. We will definitely be dining here again."

"This is hands down the best Indian food I’ve had at a restaurant. The service is prompt and considerate, and the atmosphere is inviting and colorful. Try the Paneer Pakora, the Mango Lassi, the Paratha and Naan … just fantastic. The Aloo Vindaloo is superb and the Fish Curry as well. If you like Indian food, come here. (actually, come here even if you don’t — it might change your mind) This restaurant goes to 6 stars. Vegetarian options: Aloo Vindaloo is fantastic. There are several vegetarian options I’m planning to try on future visits."

"Absolutely delicious food! My fiancée and I dined here, and we were not disappointed at all. We were really impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the warm, generous service. This restaurant exceeded our expectations and offers the best Indian cuisine I've ever tasted! Plus, I got a complimentary rice pudding for dessert! But the curry was definitely the highlight! I'm so glad we discovered this gem."

"This place is so cute! When you first walk up to the restaurant there's a door with metal panels and rivets, making it totally unique! Inside the tables are preset with folded napkins. It gave the feeling of a classy comfort and I think for dinner it could be a pretty cute idea for an intimate date. :)The food itself was set up buffet style and it's all self served. Because it was my first time eating Indian food I tried a little bit of everything and it was all so good! My favorite thing was the chicken curry and the chicken tikimasla. Once we sat down the servers brought us some freshly toasted naan. Everyone fell in love at first bite. My party had 6 people and the waiters were all so kind and attentive. We got our drinks refilled and plates removed without having to ever ask. Honestly it was a wonderful experience and we had loads of fun during a quick work lunch. You'll have a great time and experience some delicious food whether you're with friends, on a date or with family! It was my first time but it sure won't be my last!!"

"The food was wonderful. However, the staff seemed perplexed by someone actually having used Open Table for a reservation. It took a while to get that straightened out. Also, although the restaurant was basically empty with a lot of larger tables set for parties of 4, it would not accommodate our request (we were a party of 2) for one of the larger tables. A larger table would have come in handy given the number of plates and glasses employed in our dinner."

"The restaurant is lovely, candles, table cloths and flowers on each table. Food was delicious and service was excellent. They kept pouring me wine even though we already paid the bill and also gave free dessert."

"India Palace was my first experience with Indian cuisine nearly 20 years ago, and I fell in love with it right away. Unfortunately, I moved away and didn't have the opportunity to return for many years. Last night, we found ourselves back in the old neighborhood, and to my delight, the palace is still there. A lot can change over the years, and I'm sure some things have, but the food was still the best Indian cuisine I've ever had, and the staff remained as attentive and efficient as ever. If you're anywhere nearby and craving Indian food, you absolutely must stop by and prepare to be amazed."

"Super yummy food! I got the butter chicken and my partner got the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. I really enjoyed the butter chicken and the sauce blended very well with the chicken inside. The garlic naan was also well-seasoned and crispy. They had very generous portions and gave lots of rice. We had lots of leftovers and one meal was able to last us for both lunch and dinner. The service was also excellent. The waiter was very kind. My partner and I were struggling to put the orders in the to-go containers and the person that took our order put on gloves and came to help us. The ambiance of the restaurant gives off family owned business as well as casual. It's a great place if you're looking for comfort food in a comfortable environment."

"I ordered the chicken curry and garlic over the phone about five minutes before arriving. My food was served within ten minutes of arriving. I checked in on yelp and tried using the 10% discount but was informed that it's under new management and they are no longer accepting the coupon. The waitress was nice and attentive. The restaurant's environment seemed semi formal, but everything was casual except for the prices. I paid $14 for the chicken curry and garlic bread. They were both very good. I got the curry medium spicy, and that was a little too spicy for me. The portion was small. I'd say it was about an average size bowl. Twenty minutes later and I no longer feel full. I even drank three glasses of water with my meal. I will come again to try out the $10 buffet other yelpers have mentioned."

"I absolutely adore this restaurant! It serves some of the best Indian cuisine I've ever had, and I've sampled a lot from various places around the world! The tikka masala sauce is simply divine, the Dahl is exquisite, and the Kheer is perfectly balanced—not too sweet at all. The service is top-notch, and the fact that you get Chai and Lassi included in the buffet price makes it an even better deal! My only regret is living 250 miles away, which prevents me from visiting every week. However, I always make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in Phoenix. I truly love this place! I believe I may have mentioned that before…"

"Really bad advertisement for Indian food. Never been disappointed so much. Bad experience was from start to end. The most basic service was missing, waiter didn’t ask for what drink we need, we had to call him to ask for water. We had to call him again to put our order. We ordered chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and biryani. Both chicken dishes were same with butter as the only difference. Both dishes tasted like canned tomato paste. Biryani was the worst I ever had, looks like the cook mixed some stale curry with rice and served lukewarm. We couldn’t eat more than couple of bites. The only thing that was OK was garlic naan. Don’t waste your money."

"We had dinner on Christmas day and it was a really nice meal. The service was attentive, portions were generous, seasoning was spot on. We especially liked the Coconut Chicken Curry, the Punjabi Fish and the Prawn Tikka Masala. All the breads were tasty too! The Tandori lamb was a bit tough. Parking was easy. We don't live in the city, but we will eat there again if we are in the city and looking for a yummy Indian meal."

"The food here is fabulous! The service was also fabulous. Everyone was kind and helpful. I highly recommend Golden India if you're feeling for some Indian cuisine. The prices are very reasonable for monster portions, you'll have plenty to take home for another fabulous meal. There is a parking garage on the street behind the restaurant an easy, pleasant walk, with Koi fish pond. There is plenty of vegetarian dishes to enjoy too. Kid friendly place, but no kids menu due to the fact the dishes are for sharing, plenty to go around. Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian options on their menu. Parking: Monday thru Wednesday is $3.00 Thursday thru Sat or Sun is $5.00, no time limit. Kid-friendliness: Lots to do around there for kids behind the restaurant corn hole, ring the chimes, watch the koi in the koi pond. Places to sit and a public bathroom. Wheelchair accessibility: They have ramps all around there."
