"Came for the food with some expectations, based on prior reviews and the Hungry Hound profile. Our assessment of the food was fair to middling. I am a purist when it comes to gumbo, and this version didn't impress. Thick with an under-cooked flour-pastiness and a slightly reddish hue, I surmise from the addition of the cherry tomatoes mentioned by Dolinsky, with trinity components in large pieces. Not a fan of the tomato addition and the pastiness of the roux was discernible and off-putting. Didn't knock my socks off. BBQ shrimp po'boy filling was pretty good though bread is never as good as in NOLA; replicating or sourcing an authentic and flaky po'boy wrapper is a challenge; I've tried countless bakery and g-store versions and nothing is the same. Washed down dinner with beer; didn’t try any of the cocktail offerings. Would return for the atmosphere and drinks. Next time I need a NOLA fix, I'll spring for the plane ticket."

"great service and ambiente! welcoming east end inhabited to try this new place. I think about the parking lot, but square offers valet parking. please ask them about the mescal cocktail, it's really good. also my group was happy to visit the chef our table and offered to a delicate sampler board with tapas size elements that grill to perfection lachs, glazed brüssel sprouts, ceviche, shredded pork mini taco, kartoffeln. the aromas were amazing and the amount great to share with cocktails among friends. I'm going back from one of those whores. music is beaten up after 10 o'clock so that for me happy hour and early evening dinner will work best. I think this place is business networking, business meetings and other events in the eye. they rent places. in any case recommend!"

"The restaurant has a lot of potential, but it could really improve with a better selection of beers and more knowledgeable servers. I'm not sure if the manager prioritizes their training. I waited up to 30 minutes for both my food and drink refills, which seriously detracted from the dining experience. I genuinely wanted to enjoy this place."

"This place was vibrant and entertaining! The interior was absolutely gorgeous, adorned with Christmas decorations, and the music created a fantastic atmosphere. Guests could either sit down to eat or mingle with friends at one of the two bars. It was so much fun to watch everyone dance and enjoy themselves. The music was hard to resist, even while eating! Our waitress, Juliette, was incredible—very attentive, energetic, and full of personality. She offered great recommendations from the menu when we were unsure about our choices. I tried their signature smash burger, and it was phenomenal. The drinks were not only beautiful but also delicious! It was a great start to our vacation, and I would definitely recommend this place."

"I?m writing this review to give a shout out to Sabrina (I think that is her name because this was the name on my order receipt. I called to ask what gluten free options the restaurant had and without hesitation, meticulously went through the menu and listed EVERY item from wings to fries to burger buns, that was gluten free. She could have easily just told me to look online or skipped over the options to get me off the phone but the fact that she took the time to really consider my question and ensure I understood the options I had- well, that is very difficult to find the restaurant industry. Highly recommend based on my experience with her. Great customer service!"

"Would never go back the waiter lied to us about the .60 cent wing special that was promoted all over there social media platforms then when asked to speak to a manager she claimed one wasn’t in and she was in charge. So I asked another employee and the manager was working the bar. This was on a Wednesday around 7pm which they promoted R&b karaoke ladies night the Dj wasn’t playing R&b music at all and when asked he told me and my friend to have a seat and enjoy ourselves he wasn’t a damn juke box. I informed the manager who said he would speak to the Dj the experience was horrible they didn’t deliver anything they was promoting services and food was a 2/10 I would never go back and do not recommend the day I went was 11/15 worst experience of my life the Dj was playing music nobody ever heard of the crowd was dry and nobody got on the mic but him to do karaoke because he didn’t want us requesting songs horrible horrible customer service. Please don’t waste your time money or energy"

"Now, fast forward a little over a year later, and we're looking to enjoy breakfast again. My husband suggested this place, and I was thrilled since it holds such a special memory for us. Upon arriving and getting seated, however, I was dismayed to find a very limited menu—and to my utter disappointment, the stuffed French toast was nowhere to be found. I opted for the buffet instead. Sadly, the experience was far from what I had hoped for. The eggs were old, with dried-out tops turning a dark yellow, and the bottoms were stuck to the chafing dish. The bacon was floppy and rubbery—while some might prefer it that way, most people enjoy crispy bacon. The home fries were a strange texture, hard and oddly chewy; I’m convinced they were simply reheated leftovers. The waffles that were available were either extremely hard or soggy from condensation, making them inedible. In the end, I chose to pay extra for a meal off the menu and ordered the ham and cheese omelet. It was fine, but unfortunately, it also came with the same disappointing home fries. I ordered a side of sausage links, which turned out to be so tough that they were nearly impossible to eat. The highlight of my meal was the toast. Needless to say, we won’t be returning. Part of me wishes we had never come back, as it has tarnished the fond memories we once had of this place."

"We wanted authentic Mexican food and this place had high reviews. It was a few blocks from Downtown Phoenix with a moderately large parking lot. You can dine inside with table service or you can call and pick up as by picking up only parking at the entrance. At the entrance you can see the kitchen area in sight, there are several tables that you can sit at and when small bar can sit in the corner. The music was good that I wanted to dance (LOL ; but must have been on a loop as we heard twice in the hour we have eat dinner. We just managed to enjoy the last 5 minutes of happy hour. I chose a traditional margarita that was surprisingly delicious and not too brownish. The Hubby has a corona. The children got horchatas that were really good and seemed to have free refills. The bathrooms: are locked as they are for customers only per sign on each bathroom. The bathroom of women was very clean and good with real toilet paper and not the rough commercial toilet paper. Food / meals: The children shared a bean burrito made from real flour tortilla (approx. 14 and not bought a thick ameeican store, the beans were delicious, they used white cheese that was great. The hubby got carne asada afteros that came with three different types of tortilla chips (red spicy yellow corn blue corn, pinto beans, pico de gallo, jalapeños, acid cream, white melted cheese guacamole. In an attempt to stay away from the Carbs, I joined the menu called a Carne asada shell. In the end it was not a bowl and was a cup of unwiss red rice with about 1/2 cup of equally unfortunate Carne Asada, Guacamole pico de gallo, which was served on the inner circle of a nine inch plate. I added some salt to it a little more taste and that helped a bit. Total $40... definitely not bad. The service: we only saw two boys cook in the back and a young woman who was our waitress. She usually seemed to speak Spanish, but now and then we would tell her something in English. She was very friendly and patient with the children."

"We celebrated my husband's birthday at The Drake, hoping to make it a special occasion. We chose this restaurant because we love Ron Kobayashi, who performed there last year. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and we were pleased with the service. However, both my husband and son were disappointed with the tomahawk steak they shared, finding it only average. My own steak was overcooked, even though I had requested it to be medium-rare. Despite these issues, we are willing to give The Drake another chance, in the hopes that the chef will pay closer attention to our preferences next time. As retired individuals on a fixed income, these dinners are a treat for us, and we hope for a better dining experience in the future."

"The food was amazing. Our server was warm and attentive. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere of the dive bar. It's a family-owned establishment that has been open since the 1970s, so they must be doing something right. My husband tried the wings and thought they were just as good, if not better than our favorite spot back home in Georgia. I ordered Mike's Way Shrimp and it was delicious. We will definitely be returning."

"We had Calamari and Crab Cakes for an appetizer, and both were excellent. I had the Fried Seafood Platter with all fried to perfection and seasoned well. The red beans and rice may have been the best I've ever had, highly recommended."

"Years of great service and food until today. I have ordered all breakfast, lunch, and dinner over the years. However, it finally happened to me.. I found a small cockroach in my last bite. I gagged so hard my whole meal came back up. I would give this a zero but the people over the years have been so lovely towards me and probably wasn’t their fault. Maybe is due for a deep cleaning back in the kitchen because I am not eating there ever again. I am so sorry. I am so conflicted now. "We have always loved Chapmans. However, when we ordered takeout yesterday, we noticed that everything we ordered was priced $2 to $3 higher than what was listed on the online menu. I understand that these are uncertain times, but it would have been helpful to be informed about the price differences when I placed the order, rather than being surprised when I went to pay."

"I joined a group at Stokin Goat yesterday for happy hour, and overall it was a great experience. The drinks, music, and service were all excellent. However, I had to deduct two stars because one member of our group follows a vegan diet, and unfortunately, there were no vegan options on the menu. At a bar that specializes in burgers, I believe it’s a reasonable expectation to offer an Impossible or Beyond patty as a substitute. With just a bit of creativity, it wouldn't be hard to add a single vegan appetizer to the menu that could appeal to others as well."

"Last night we had the Shrimp and Grits and the Catfish Etouffee, caramel cake and German chocolate cake for dessert. All were very delicious, especially the pickled crunchiness of the peppers in the Shrimp and Grits! The food tasted so authentic to what we have eaten many times in New Orleans! We also had a very attentive server. We will definitely be coming back. Keep up the great work"

"We went to eat around 3:30 this afternoon. We were seated in a timely manner. We received water and hush puppies after just a few minutes. However, NO server ever came to our table to even take our drink order. After waiting 20 min my husband went to the hostess stand and complained. She went and talked to someone and said they would be right out. We waited another 15 min and finally walked out. 35 min and no one had acknowledged we were even there after the first few min. There was one server waiting on 2 tables. He looked our way a few times but never came over. I was so disappointed. I know it was an off time but the other 2 tables weren’t having any issues being waited on. One couple came in about 15 min after we had and had already received drinks and an appetizer. We used to go there all the time and wanted to go since we were in town to visit with family and friends. What a disappointment and waste of time. No one even acted as if they cared we walked out. I hope the people walking in as we left received better service."

"Everybody complains when they have a bad experience, so I'm happy to report that a recent dinner outing with friends was far better than I'd expected. The staff was friendly and courteous. The food was phenominal, I had a simple turkey club sandwich and fries. The sandwich was huge and piled high enough that I could barely get my mouth around it. The fries were crispy on the outside, but delicate and fluffy on the inside. So much food, I couldn't finish. My only disappointment is that the menu is a bit small now, but I assume it's abridged due to supply chain and staffing shortages. Many restaurants are implementing similar measures these days, so I'm sure it will fill out as things improve."
