"We moved to the neighborhood in 2022 and since have been to Hazel 's 4 times. It is about a 3-4 block walk from us so I 'll start by saying that I really wanted to like Hazel 's but every experience has been super lack luster.First experience was for breakfast, we were meeting with friends that we hadn 't seen in a while. Food was mediocre and the server informed us right after we finished our food that there was an hour limit and that we would need to wrap up, pay, and leave. I get it is a small establishment but that is just an aweful customer experience, especially when the food and service is not special. Most recently went for dinner, I ordered the walleye fish and chips and as I cut into the walleye for the firsr bite I discovered a long hair baked into the fried fish. It completely ruined my appetite. On top of that, the server made zero accomodation for menu adjustment. I asked if they could do a half sized ceasar and they said no, we can 't . I could understand this with another, more complex dish, but this is literally one of the most common salads and so easy to just make a half portion. Most restaurants this is a non-issue.IMO there are so many other places with better food, better service, better atmosphere and better customer service. Hazel 's is mediocre in every way and they really try to play up this quaint small neighborhood restairant atmosphere and vibe but they don 't back that up with anything that really matters.Made the decision I won 't be going back. Parkway pizza is right next door and significantly better in every way. Do yourself a favor and spend your money and breakfast/lunch/dinner at a better establishment.Kid-friendliness: They do have a kids menu."
