"Our recent experience at the restaurant was disappointing. We have dined there a few times before, always having had good meals. This time, however, we chose the restaurant to celebrate a birthday and were let down. The bar was busy, but only one other table was seated in the restaurant and finished their meal shortly after we were seated. My dining partner ordered the special duck dish, but it turned out to be tough and chewy. He was offered a replacement entree, but it was too late as I had already finished my meal and he wasn't keen on waiting for another dish to be prepared. The staff was very nice and kindly comped his entree, but we no longer see this restaurant as a special occasion spot. We'd rather pay for good food than be comped for poor food."

"We’ve ordered from this restaurant on DoorDash a few times because their prices are fantastic and their pizza is really tasty. They have a huge menu. However, every time we’ve ordered the pizza, there’s been some kind of issue. Once, the pizza was so hot when it left the store that by the time it arrived, the toppings had slid off the crust. It still tasted great, though. We gave them another chance, but the pizza and wraps were so greasy that they soaked through the pizza box and the wrapping. We foolishly tried a third time because the pizza is delicious, but this time it was mostly crust with very little toppings. We’ve decided to move on, even though we wanted to support a local business."

"DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.Ordered from here and when I called, they told me I called the Orland Park location. I looked the number up again on their own website and dialed in manually. Got the same person and they confirmed the address that I intended on reaching. I go to pick up the food and the person at the register said my name was in the system but not the order and that the order must be at a different location. Absolutely ridiculous after I was given a price and time and everything. I called the same number right as I was leaving and they answered right in front of me.Total LIARS that just don't feel like making your food when you order it apparently. "I just received a deep dish pizza and an appetizer platter, and I'm really disappointed. The platter was burnt, and the deep dish pizza resembled a regular pizza cut into triangles with some sauce thrown on top. I won't be ordering from them again. "I love bringing friends to Baur's but the most recent experience was not up to par. We had a 9:30am reservation for Sunday brunch. I don't think there were any other parties in the restaurant, although two women came in a short time later. Among the three of us, we ordered a veggie omelet, the crème brulee French toast, and strawberry pancakes. My omelet was luke-warm (at best) as were the potatoes. The toast was excellent. Neither of my guests said anything about their food until the following day when I asked them. My friend who had the French toast said it was barely warm although the flavor was good. I think we were all embarrassed to say anything; I know I was hesitant because I didn't want to make a big deal out of a less-than-hot omelet. If the restaurant had been crowded, I might have been more forgiving, but it was not. I suspect our waitress simply didn't go to the kitchen timely. She said she usually didn't work the brunch shift when I ordered black tea and she brought herbal tea. She was nice about exchanging it. I want to be able to bring more friends to Baur's, so I hope this was a one-time experience that won't be repeated."

"I find it quite surprising that a restaurant, especially one of this size, would close the kitchen while customers are still dining. Additionally, the OpenTable app allows reservations up until 10 PM, which is their kitchen closing time, leaving me curious about how they handle 10 PM bookings. Our reservation was for 9 PM. Overall, I wouldn't recommend making a reservation within three hours of closing, as the service was marginal and the food didn't feel worth the price."

Home Fries No flavor, barely cooked not worth the carbs Grain Toast It 's worth spending the extra 0.50 for the Multigrain toast Lunch Dinner Soups on a scale of 1 10 most are a 4.5 5. One way I judge a diner is by the quality of their soups and sadly, their soup was better 20 years ago. Salads on a scale of 1 10 most are 5.5 6. While the onions and tomatoes in my last salad were fresh, the romaine lettuce was brown, limp and lifeless. Burgers on a scale of 1 10 I give them a 6 6.5. They 're usually juicy but, if you order a cheeseburger and ask for the cheese to be melted on the burger vs on the bun, they look at you like you have 3 heads and you 're told NO, we can 't do that and if you ask why, the server shrugs their shoulders. It 's a CHEESEBURGER that means the cheese should be melted on the burger, not the bun! I get that it means they have to clean a droplet of melted cheese off the flat top or grill but, it 's a a major pet peeve of mine French Fries If you like McDonald 's or Burger King shoestring fries, you 'll be thrilled. If you don 't, don 't bother ordering them. Broiled 1/2 Chicken on a scale of 1 10 I give it a solid 8! It 's always juicy and go ahead and splurge the 1 to have your broccoli sauteed with garlic oil. if you ask for garlic they 'll charge you 1 but in my book, it 's worth it. Linguini with Chicken Spinach why I foolishly ordered this from a diner I have no clue but believe me when I tell you, don 't waste your . On a scale of 1 10 I give it a 1.5 2. Perhaps the pasta was al dente at 10:00 a.m. but at 6:00 it was gloppy as was the gloppy and flavorless sauce which although it 's advertised as a light garlic and oil sauce had the Vaseline Intensive Care color and texture. This delicacy came with 4 paper thin slices of rubbery chicken and 4 leaves of what perhaps was once fresh spinach. Chopped Steak a big burger with lots of grilled onions cooked pretty much the way you want. Go for a baked potato and skipped their instant potato flake mashed potatoes. Decor They have not updated the restaurant in a good 30 years. The tables by the window are sticky despite them being 'wiped down ' as are the tables in the booths. On a scale of 1 10, Blue Bay rates a 5. Go for breakfast, have a burger or broiled chicken and skip anything and everything else."
