"We have lived in the area for 12 years now and this was our first (and last) visit to Bridgeman 's Chophouse. We have visited many 'fine dining ' steakhouses over the years and tried several in Chattanooga before with mixed results, so, after reading the various reviews of Bridgemen 's we decided to go for our 21st anniversary. We had a reservation for 5:30 on a weekday and knew there was valet parking since this restaurant is in the Read House Hotel. What we didn 't expect was the back-up at the intersection for all the guests trying to valet park that lasted quite some time. We opted to use the parking lot across the street, which had quite a few homeless hanging around. Once inside the restaurant, we were seated quickly by a hostess who was definitely under-dressed for a supposed fine dining restaurant. The booth we sat at had seats so low that we were offered cushions to lift us higher to the table (never had that happen before); we are average height adults. We had before dinner drinks that were only okay and an appetizer of the hand-cut fries with truffle and parmesan (greasy and tasteless). We each ordered steak (husband had the 16 ounce rib eye that he said was tough and flavorless, I had the 6 ounce filet) and each had the Caesar salad with anchovies (the Caesar dressing had a sweet taste and the anchovies did not taste like anchovies). We had requested a bottle of red wine with dinner and, while we were each given a glass of the red wine, when I questioned having the bottle I was told by the server he had forgotten and, since we had each had a glass, they could not open a new bottle for us to have what would have been the remainder of 'our ' bottle. We did not have dessert. Service was okay, the male who refilled our water glasses was more attentive than the server, although he (server) was pleasant enough. We expected more from this restaurant and do not recommend it for a fine-dining experience, especially for those prices."

"One of the most aggravating dining experiences of 2023. Shooting for a fair assessment here. Some context; this review is for the bar top area, and NOT the dining room.First off, atmosphere is top notch. Beautiful decor, the artificial tree is unique and tasteful. The lighting and the overall ambiance wonderful.Second, food is excellent. Being a relatively new Omaha chophouse, competing for market share, it has to be. Prime filet was cooked to order and delicious. But what really (underscore REALLY) aggravated me is the garbage can level of service and abject lack of friendliness at the bar. I sit down, on a completely empty Tuesday evening, and it takes 10 minutes to get a glass of water and then an additional 5 for a menu.I would hope someone from restaurant management would reach out to discuss. This dining experience was frustrating and felt very, very odd. Almost like I was inconveniencing the staff by dining at the bar top. Why did my water glass remain empty my entire meal? Why did I have to ask twice for a desert menu? Why did I have to ask twice for a check? Why did every verbal interaction with a staff member feel like we were about to get into a fist fight?Nonetheless, I tipped my customary 30%. I really, really wanted to ask the gal (who I deducted was the bar manager) if she felt like her staff had in fact earned my gratuitous tip. Instead, I took my to go dessert and retreated to my hotel room upstairs."
